This is who JJ McCarthy is. When first going to Michigan he contacted all recruits and told them if they want to chase girls and party do not go to Michigan. He said they are wanting to turn Michigan program around and win it all. He accomplished his goal. That is a leader.
You realize he had the best wine and running back as well, right? Nobody knows how he looks when he is going to get put behind a bad line. Just like Mac Jones in Alabama looked amazing in front of a phenomenal line. Go look at all the time JJ has to throw the ball. That never happens in the NFL even with a good line.
At this point who cares what Tom has to say? He’s been insufferable since the combine.

Oh great, the Patriots can choose between Justin Fields 2.0 or Brock Purdy 2.0. You can win with Brock Purdy if you happen to have an elite defense, an elite offensive line, and pro bowl caliber targets to throw to. If you are a rebuilding team with below-average talent on the roster, then good luck winning with Brock Purdy 2.0.
JJ is not 2.0 of any other QB. No other QB won a job from a veteran who beat OSU, then went on to go 27-1 as a starter for a team that has not won a national championship in 26 years... yet never played a down over age 20... and can run a 4.5 40, and can pass 61MPH...
May is a bust. He will be the greatest at throwing interceptions. He is not accurate. And doesn’t have great mechanics. He’s the next Ryan leaf. IMO. With Daniel’s I think he’s just not built for the nfl. Him and Williams are good at playground ball. They don’t play good in schedule. And Daniel’s want even good before this year. I’m not picking on someone with one good year that’s not built like a good qb.
Tom E Curran has lost his fucking mind. All off-season, he has said some of the dumbest shit. Trade back get picks, and now it's reach for J.J McCarthy. I don't know what is wrong with him, but he obviously doesn't know how to handle not being 12 and 4 every year. It's like he wants a 12 year rebuild.
I’ve always liked Tom Curran, followed him since he was writing articles for the providence journal… That being said, he has been all over the place last 3 plus years. I think, you’re right in saying that he doesn’t know how to analyze losing football(just look at phil Perry), he looks like he is about to stroke out on live tv!! This is disaster waiting to happen. It now makes sense why Dan Quinn was hyping everyone up at Maye’s workout. They are the ones who will trade the pick for a haul. What if NE and Wash are actually competing for the better offer from Min?

Why is JJ in the options? This is not a trolling question or a sarcastic comment, he is not good enough to be drafted at 3, maybe somewhere between 11-20 but not 3. He is like a slightly more athletic and stronger Mac Jones which I guess would be ok if the 49ers were drafting him but not the Patriots with this roster. JJ’s ceiling is low he just has a decent floor. The pats are rebuilding and need someone with a high ceiling. Mac Jones was in an identical situation and was also a national champion with an NFL caliber coach…..why do this again?
Talk to me like I am 5 and explain how Maye is better than JJ. JJ beats him in ints/game, passer efficiency rating, yards/pass. JJ is just as fast and can throw the ball just as hard. Crazy that people think that because he went 27-1, that is a negative. JJ is not a 2.0 of any other QB. JJ has both a high floor and a high ceiling. Mac Jones comparable woulf be Bo Nix.p, not JJ.

I think the Vikings are way too far back in the first round. I wouldn't trade with Minnesota unless it was at least an equivalent to five first rounders. If it was me I would look for a trade down with the Giants IF I was going to trade down at all. NY seems the most likely to me, because NE could still get top of the first round draft talent.
Curran's opinion is spot on.
McCarthy IS more fundamentally sound and a more accurate passer than Maye.
Who cares, Mac jones coming out was pro ready. Maye has a much higher ceiling

A blind man can see jj isn’t a top 5 pick. Maye physicals is well above average and you can coach him up where he falls short
I am not blind, and I think there is a good chance that JJ will be the best QB in this draft. Anything Maye can do, JJ can do including running speed and ball velocity on throws. JJ already knows how to roll left or right, plant and throw., within the context of a pro style offense.. JJ is younger than Maye, yet somehow went 27-1 as a starter.
@@farriskhan2352 maye clearly has the higher ceiling out of the 2 of them. If we’re talking about arm talent it’s not close in comparison maye is basically a baby josh Allen. Jj been successful more because of the weapons that were with him in his career. He really ain’t have to do much fr. Jj is one of the few who can play week 1 but he’s not really a qb we need man we need more of a gamechanger at qb with how our offense setup n maye can become that for sure cuz he already has the physicals. Jj ain’t bad but there’s no way in hell im picking him at #3 that’s just crazy cuz there’s nothing about him that he does better than the rest of the top 3 qb class there’s nothing that separates him except his winning record that’s it.
@@jaythasupreme359 How does Maye have a higher ceiling than JJ? JJ can throw 61MPH. That is like a baseball pitcher throwing 98MPH at age 21. It is elite. JJ can run a 4.5 40. Just look at what JJ can physically do before you downgrading him for going 27-1.

JJ is better than Maye in every major statistically category: completion percentage, INTs per game, passing efficient rating, yards/ attempt. He also has been clocked at 4.5 in the 40 and he can throw the ball 61MPH (elite speed). He is also YOUNGER than Maye. JJ has never played a down over age 20. I don't see how anyone can pick Maye over JJ when comparing resumes.
The Negative? Bobblehead gurus are declaring that the fact that JJ went 27-1 is a NEGATIVE because he was on a SUPERTEAM.
Reality? Michigan had not won a title in 26 years. This is not a dynasty. They absolutely need him to win the title. Reminder: OSU was ranked ahead of them before Michigan beat them.
Drafting quarterbacks is not about "resumes." It is about physical and mental skills as a quarterback and how they project with NFL talent and NFL coaching surrounding you. If you want to draft on "resumes" then why not pick up Stetson Bennett and make him the Patriots quarterback. No quarterback in recent years has won more big games in college than Stetson Bennett. The bottom line is JJ had a superior defense, a superior offensive line, and superior skill players than Drake Maye has ever had. JJ was never called on to do very much for Michigan to win. Who knows if he can put a team on his shoulders and carry a team to victory because JJ never had to do that at Michigan.

@@briannettles669 JJ has higher accuracy. He has a higher yards/attemp. JJ makes less mistakes. JJ has an Elite Arm and 40 yard speed. JJ is an unquestioned leader. Critiquing him because he went 27-1 is crazy. He absolutely was called upon to make massive plays agains OSU and Alabama. HUGE games that were way bigger than Maye ever experienced. Michigan does not win the title without JJ.

@@farriskhan2352 I'll just point out that JJ threw less than 400 yards in the 4th quarter this year. That's insanely low for a prospect this high. His coaches obviously didn't trust him to throw the ball when needed.
He's got skills but he also played on a team that got out to quick easy leads and just had to run the ball.
Don't get me wrong, I like the kid, however taking him at 3 is such a reach it's insane.

Actually he’s better than Mac jones in most qb metrics. Better arm, better in the pocket, better thrower on the run and can make plays with his legs if need be. That being said I’m not taking him at 3. If we trade down then he’s on my radar.
