Is pretty weird, as a shoegaze/noise rock player, seeing people like Shane trying to use gear made for people like us. Is like seeing history backwards, because in the 90s people like Kevin Shields and Lee Ranaldo were trying to get the most experimental sounds from pedals made for more "normal" styles like blues. Shane, I'm still expecting a blues approach to shoegaze like you did at the end of the video, it really was awesome. Cheers!
I've been testing a few of the Valeton pedals on my channel recently, they are fantastic pedals. I have the Dapper Mini to play with at the moment, so far I am really impressed. This one definitely sounds fun !!
Pretty fun pedal! From what you demonstrated, if you’re into high gain and the ability to layer some colors on top, it sounds like a cool option to knock around with. ✌🏻🎸
I think that pedal has some nice features on it !! Now sure its cost but some of the effects could make it worth it on its own. Great job demo'ing it Shane as always !! Also
personally, I thought a lot of the compression and fuzz tone of the OD could be due to the amp already breaking up a lot. not really a bad tone, though maybe would suit a cleaner amp to get a smoother dynamic od tone. it has a fuzz for the fuzz, od should be as stated for versatility.
I dunno man. I am pretty sure you could make it blues Shane! just use a wee bit of reverb and delay and some overdrive! Whats the worst that could happen! :D Cool pedal for sure!
This is absolutely my sort of pedal, great for the music I play, the Drive has a hint of RAT to it which would make sense, the RAT is a popular pedal in indie music
Thanks for the review Shane mate! I just got offered one on ebay, brand new for 150! So I wanted to know what it sounded like before I pulled the trigger and paid, but it looks and sounds awesome for the price! I remember paying 4 times that for a fully programmable guitar fx rack with an 8 button stomp box back in the 90s that had a very similar sound and chunkiness capability as this one so I'm winning! 😆 awesome work, next time please don't test it with only the settings maxxed out but with them sounding as nice as possible AND also the maximum setting, I would have liked to hear you play a little bit more with the fuzz, slower reverb and delays and just a little bit of nuance instead of spinal tap style, all tha way to elevun, cos 11s just louder 😆 🤣 😂 love that movie, such a classic comedy of errors 😆 🤣 😂
I've been using it for a while to simplify my rig set up. My only criticism is that it shuts itself completely off once every hour or so. Becomes a real problem when gigging.
@dsfadsfgafgf Oh wow.. I appreciate the explination. I am gonna try to find a video that showcases a bit of a cleaner sound. I am more interested in the pedal than ever, knowing that the amp can seriously add or detract.
It has more interesting features than a Tech 21 Flyrig or the lattest SansAmp : at least, it has reverb, tremolo, phaser and a tuner .... My Carr amp deserves something analog instead of digital, but I can't wait forever ....
@@corv1981 You're asking me to choose a sound for you. You need to find what you like and not what other people like. Trust your ears. I have no idea of your budget or what sort of sound you're going for the question can't be answered. Check my gear rundown video if you want to see what I use. :-)
intheblues I was just looking to get a recommendation for pedal you tried in the past and I would try them and see if they worked for me at this point i have tried a bunch and not been happy. No budget just a tone chaser.
Maybe it was your set up on that particular day, or your approach, but it sounded very underwhelming on my end going through multiple devices and playback scenarios. Muddy, digitally harsh, fizzy, etc. It may be the YouToob compression to a certain extent, but I have heard you demonstrate miles of gear and have always been impressed with the quality of your playing, presentation and production. So, this points to the gear itself as the most likely culprit. They can’t all be winners. 👍🏻
Que mal poner el amplificador con un poco de overdrive cualquiera que alguien le avise que así no podemos realmente escuchar la valeton dapper indie que pena 👎

That's the pedal for me with the light up buttons and the effects are the ones I actually use !
Is this recording directly into the line or through the amp? Direct to soundcard?

ayyy shoegazer/noise rocker here too dude
Thanks a lot Luis! I tried haha. :-)
Is this pedal really shoegazing?
@@andriebayuajie7801 technically, it has the basics to go for a standard loveless-souvlaki sound
that's totally my kind of pedal. I'm into bands like Radiohead/the Verve, etc. Also googly eyes buttons! cool video man
One of students bought this actual pedal from you. He brought it in for me to try, I was very impressed!! Big thumbs up
This pedal seems as close to a micro, budget all in one Pink Floyd/Gilmour effects pedal. Great demo and review!
Some of the best reviews on RUclips, and great playing every single episode!
This just might be the perfect “All-in-one” pedal!!!!! You know how I love fuzz!!!! Great review and chops!!! Cheers!!!🤙🏾🤙🏾🎸🎸🎸🎸
Yeah, the fuzz sounded pretty damn good.
I've been testing a few of the Valeton pedals on my channel recently, they are fantastic pedals. I have the Dapper Mini to play with at the moment, so far I am really impressed. This one definitely sounds fun !!
That fuzz + hall tone was glorious.
I really enjoyed this review Shane, finally they made a little multi effect with fuzz!!!
Killer opening jam, well done, sir!
Pretty fun pedal! From what you demonstrated, if you’re into high gain and the ability to layer some colors on top, it sounds like a cool option to knock around with. ✌🏻🎸
Sounded great with the phaser, if I didn't already have all these effects I'd probably get one of these :)
It really is a wall of fuzz! lol Sounded great too.
Getting major Eddie Hazel vibes from the delay/reverb jam at the end. Go, Maggot Brain!
Kind of perfect if you want to do some Stone Roses, Verve, Charlatans type thing.
Intro jam was very tasteful man!
Better idea, winter is coming for you and summer is coming for me. You send me the shirt and I'll send you a sweater. Lol

Wow. Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Jo Bo , Gary Moore in a box. Thats my kind of blues
Ottimo Pedale effetti stupendi Liquid sembra un Flanger 🎸🤠😉
Excellent review, Shane! Thank you.

Outstanding!
I have this and now I’m Oasis! You can be Oasis too! Weren’t we all Oasis, really?
I like it. Very 90s
Nice 1 Shane!
This multi has everything I primarily use. Awesome! Too bad I have the all the pedals already, or else Id be calling NOW!

Love to see all the guitar collection in one video 🙌. Gives a better perspective of the tones
I just posted a gear rundown the other day. I cover the majority of my gear in that. :-)
At about 2:15 with that white Strat. I'm ripping that one, Shane.
The more I see that Pure Salem guitar, the more I want one. Gotta find a local dealer.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing :)
I love you. This thing seems so cool.
lol thanks mate. :-)
great demo song
I've got the version of the Dapper with OD, distortion and delay and it's pretty good. They don't seem to be very popular, though.
Does the “Gain” knob in indie drive, if set to 0/close doesnt have any sound?
NOT A BLUES PEDAL!!! DAMN!!!!
👍👍👍🎸 i Like it.
I've been using it for a while to simplify my rig set up. My only criticism is that it shuts itself completely off once every hour or so. Becomes a real problem when gigging.
Playing almost needed the Slash wig :)
Bridge PUP has a bit of output, kinda crunchy already.... lol.... sounds damn dirty to my ears ....
BUT I dug the intro! Good job there fo sho!
Would've been nice to hear how the drive sounds when you're guitar isn't already dirty
Even when overdrive is off. it is on.
@dsfadsfgafgf It kinda made it difficult to hear things. Why did they use it?
@dsfadsfgafgf Oh wow.. I appreciate the explination. I am gonna try to find a video that showcases a bit of a cleaner sound. I am more interested in the pedal than ever, knowing that the amp can seriously add or detract.
I love overdrive. And i think this pedal has very nice overdrive. Should i go for it?
Does anyone run OD into fuzz here? Thanks, always great vids. Cheers.
I run OD into Fuzz. My Fuzz gives it a little more focus and endless sustain.
Shane could you please test the behringer fuzz pedal (SuperFuzz SF 300)? I’ve heard it’s good. Who knows? 👾
Does the pedal come with a power supply or should it be purchased separately?
oi Shane from Up Over!
It has more interesting features than a Tech 21 Flyrig or the lattest SansAmp : at least, it has reverb, tremolo, phaser and a tuner .... My Carr amp deserves something analog instead of digital, but I can't wait forever ....
Anybody know when these release?
Cool, video...Looking for a blues pedal what is recommended to sit in front of a fender reissue twin reverb-too many choices!!
Anything you like the sound of and is within your budget.
intheblues Tried a bunch but was not satisfied do you have a preference?

Do you use ampli simulator ?
It seems like the only way you could get a less aggressive tone out of that pedal is to keep the drive pedal off.
Just I was waiting for this. Which is better in your opinion, this or the Mooer Red/Black Truck?
Do you know of these are “analog” as in transistor soldering based? Or is it a microcontroller with a DSP?
both ! fuzz and overdrive are analog and the rest of the effect and modulation are digital
Hey there man I like that tone of the delay reverb and overdrive what kind of amp were u using
Is this worth it for acoustic guitar?
Nice but you can also get weird and prog sounds without too much fuzz / disto. Try it.
Cool shirt! Want one. Where did you get it?
I got it for free at the Reverb booth at the Melbourne Guitar show last year.
Is that delay a tap delay?
Is there anybody who used it with Bass Guitar?
Wouldn't Indie be supposed to refer to a certain style?
11:10
12:27
Warning: not a blues pedal.
Plays all blues.
Pone el amplificador en CLEAN viejo
great intro shane ....shame about overdrive on pedal.......
The OD sounds very processed and digital, everything else sounds alright.
You're right , it has a place in my sound
It just seems VERY compressed to me!
it's an analog OD......
@@ArthurAlison So much for my ears lol
Nice, but if you want metal spend a few more $ on the gp 100

I felt bad being the 667th like 🤘 ruined it
Pedal for shoegaze
Que mal poner el amplificador con un poco de overdrive cualquiera que alguien le avise que así no podemos realmente escuchar la valeton dapper indie que pena 👎
The indie drive a bit of RAT-ish, isn't? ... I mean that is the go to pedal of indie rock band...
I think so😁
dont like. sounds like half of the gain-based effects are routed through a 10 watt shoebox amp with a blown speaker. good demo fail pedal
That's the idea. It's not your regular dirt sounds. I covered what it was going for in the about section of the pedal. :-)
Any pedal that alters the sound of a guitar is a blues pedal, surely mate. Labels and genres are stupidly restrictive.
The worst demo on RUclips of this pedal. For crying out loud demo it on a clean amp!
The worst comment on the video. For crying out loud, don't be a sook.
