Whoever wins the QB1 spot I am fully supporting. The real big advantage GM has over AC is his mobility, and if he has good chemistry with the offense - why not? I mean if GM starts the season, AC is only going to get better and would be a solid backup QB. I think the Media is overly harsh on our QB room. Just consider the 2000 Ravens won a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer 😖, and cut him the next season. Our offense has more fire-power with the TE, and WR - better than the 2000 Ravens, and our Defense is going to be a top 5 D in the NFL this year.

Sanjit, you are incredible with your film study videos. You know this game. Go back and watch the Bears from last year. The problem was never Getsy's offensive scheme. His scheme is a version of Gruden's learned from Packer coach LeFleur. I watched Bear tape when there was a push to get Justin Fields on the Raiders. Getsy's offensive scheme was never the problem. The Gruden / LeFleur / Getsy system designs plays for the QB to throw from the pocket. A lot of plays are timing plays where you throw to a spot on the field and the receiver is supposed to be there when the ball arrives. It requires the QB have a high football IQ because he not only has to know his play but he has to read the defense, which guys going in motion is supposed to force the D to reveal its play. At that point the QB should know which receiver is going to come open because there just aren't enough guys to double cover them all. He should be able to tell if they are dropping both safeties into a Tampa 2, if it is going zone and to which side they will rotate, or if man to man coverage, or a combination. Regardless, he should know which receiver's route is the one that will be open most likely and that's his primary receiver. Getsy didn't have either a pocket QB or a QB with a high football IQ because Justin Fields was neither, which is why I threw a fit with all the talk of the Raiders getting him. Fields is always more interested in escaping the pocket and running instead of throwing. I remember a particular play where it was clear that the wide receiver on Field's right was facing man coverage. It was revealed as Fields called the signals. Getsy brought the running back to that side and I could see the play developing. If Fields reads the D right he should know that man to man is in trouble because he can't cover both the back and the wideout. He has to pass off the wide receiver to a safety if the wide receiver goes deep and he has to stop the runner. The play is snapped, Fields immediately bounced out of the pocket and rolls to his left and dumps the ball to his check down receiver and gets a couple yards. Meanwhile the wide out on the right is WIDE OPEN running down field and would have been an easy TD if Fields stayed in the pocket, knew the offense, read the D and while in the pocket saw the corner come up to guard the running back and he should have heaved the ball to the receiver's spot and let him run under it. It was an easy TD. Fields only wants to run and is a lousy fit for Getsy's offense. In 2022 Fields ran for 1,143 yards! No QB should be playing running back. Last year he only played 12 or 13 games but was on pace for over 800 yards rushing. Passing? In this day and age a good QB passes for 4,250 yards, more or less, in a 17 game season and has a completion percent around 65+%. Fields is barely hanging on to 60% with much of that completion percent owing to dump off passes. The most yards he's passed for in his 3 year career was 2,500+ yards, way below what is expected from a good QB. Which brings me to O'Connell. You are right. He has a cruise missile for an arm and he is a pocket passer. My concern with Minshew is his mobility. Will be be a scrambling QB that relies on his mobility ONLY when he absolutely must, like Mahomes? Or will he be another Justin Fields scurrying around to find a place to run? His history is to use his mobility to escape so he can throw. He's been a backup for his entire 5 years in the NFL He started 13 games with the colts last year, passed for a respectable 3,305 yards, but projected out for a 17 game season it pencils to 4,321. His completion was at 62.2%, but only 15 TDs and only 9 Ints. The Ints were a positive but only about 1 TD a game is concerning. However, he ran for only 100 yards. He's no Justin Fields. I think both QBs have the potential. With all the weapons the Raiders have, both these guys could have a breakout year.
It will be crazy if Gardiner Minshew and Anthony Brown take over as future. I was watching Anthony Brown highlights you should check them out and he's pretty good, let's go O'Connell and see what we got baby, Raider Nation let's win baby 💯💯💯💪💪💪
Patience with the offense, there. is so much to learn-,I think it will take time, especially that they are splitting snaps so less reps for either one while other teams QB are getting full reps, think the O will hit its stride around week 7
Minshew will be our QB as practice continues he will get better he knows when to run and I like when he changes plays at tha line of Scrimmage and I love tha little swag in him to be Continued Just Win Babeeeeee
Minshew has more experience with NFL caliber pass rush, defenses, using his legs, when and where to escape the pocket. Aidan can learn a lot from him in that area, but experience is going to be the best teacher for him. I'm good with either for this season, let AP cook.
I have not for a single day since we signed Minshew, thought that Aidan can beat him. This is not a surprise to me. Mobility is key to keeping plays a live and doing more. Aidan does not have that.
Tre tucker bobbled the ball on some critical plays last year and I hope he has the toe tap down this season. It's all a matter of focus and concentration though. I think he'll be fine.
If all you’ve got is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. The modern successful offense is high volume scoring from a passing attack. This enables the defense to take chances, since they’re playing with a lead. But defensive coaches almost always want to insert a strong defense and running game. However, that guarantees that most games will be close low scoring, and often decided by fluke plays such as a missed field goal or some such. The Raiders have tremendous receivers. Among the WR group is one in the top five and at least one more in the top 15; and two of the finest tight ends in the NFL. What’s lacking is proper protection for the quarterback in the form of a top-notch left offensive tackle. Miller has merely average and probably not up to the kind of protection. The quarterbacks will need. Any chance that AOC has would depend on being able to set up in the pocket and hit the open wide receivers or tight end. I don’t think Miller is up to providing that. He’s aging, still injured, and last year was ranked in the middle third and quality of offensive left tackles. As a measure of how the rest of the league sees it, the Lions have just given their LT $60 million over three years, and Tampa has given OLT Wirfs $88 million. That is a key bit of information. Note that running backs are no longer highly paid as are passers and receivers. I think if the Raiders had this kind of protection, AOC would emerge as a potential star quarterback, and the Raiders would finish with a better record than a year ago. However, lacking that, and apparently not interested in acquiring it, I predict they will finish about like they did a year ago. Alas!
In my opinion, the Raiders Offence is definitely capable of being a top 15 unit. And if the Defence is what we think they are then POT will be a big stat that will greatly increase the scoring Offence.
The quandary is not sucking bad enough to draft high enough to draft a stud on a rookie deal vs. breaking the bank with a guy like Dak, thus diluting the roster with so much money tied to the QB position.
Hey let's hope we can get by like other teams in the past have without a great qb.. I believe our d will be top 5.. as long as we can run the ball we got a shot. Trent dilfer, Jim McMahon, Eli manning, Jeff hostetler and I'm sure I'm missing some. It's rare but can happen.
Tucker has had issues with securing the ball so I'm not surprised by the drops. Let's not forget how he bobbled most of his catches last year. If he can't get that figured out, he'll be no good to any team.
@@dnice4145 You serious a 3rd string rookie thrown in fire mid season new regime. He keeps us in all but maybe 1 game, swept our division, and finished last 4 games 9 TDs and 1 int. Give the man a chance to honestly fail or succeed.

Not convinced Minshew has a higher ceiling. 6 seasons in the NFL, almost made the playoffs once. Think AOC might have a higher ceiling, but unknown at this point. Hope something clicks with one of them soon....
He was a backup most of those six seasons, so saying he didn't make the playoffs doesn't make sense. If you're counting his teams, he (his team) made the Superbowl.
@@richiel17 And why has he only been a backup? Just saying that he has had more time to make a splash and has not. AOC may turn out the same, but has not been in the league as long, so he may have a higher ceiling. I think 6 seasons is plenty to show what you got....
Minchew is miles ahead of aoc. They sell aoc to the fair weather fans to keep the views up. Minchew was thrown into the fire last year and turned in a pro bowl season. Aoc was thrown to the fire and got shut out in a game and didn’t complete a pass for almost three quarters in another.
The QB job should not be decided the first week in pads. Give them two or three weeks to win the job. Neither QB is the future of this franchise, let them fight it out and let the best man win. Yes this team has some weapons that can be fun to watch. Unless this team figures out the o-line the weapons are useless. Reverses cannot be run when the entire d-line is in the backfield. Or like you said if this line cannot block we have to keep in the TE's to help which limits the offense and will make it difficult to move the ball through the air with 2 receivers running routes.
@BillyBob-zg2qw Half the blame should be on the QB. The Bears were leading most of the games going into the 4th qtr and JF made a lot of reckless throws and reads. Once he gets run in his head there's no going back to the pass.
Here is what Vic Tafur said: Minshew has had the better day thus far, but O’Connell also had some drops. Tucker continues to have a rough camp. Bowers continues to look like the real deal, and it will be interesting to see how many carries he gets this season.
@zsumone Funny how all you Carrdashians turned Aidan meat riders forget that he knocked us out of playoff contention last yr. Try depositing those corny jokes into your over drawn bank account 🤣.
I just don't think that Minshew has the arm strength to stretch a defense, and Getsy likes the deep ball. He doesn't fit as our starter, unless we'll be more of a short passing offense, in which case we'll be wasting some of Tucker's speed.
AOC doesnt have it. Minshew has like 15% of it. Simple as that. Seasons gonna be a bummer to any of the fools saying its gonna be an 11 win season. Be realistic folks. Lets go get Jaxson Dart next draft.

If you watched our offense last year in some of our greatest hits (Minn, Miami...) this is not a shocker.
I think if our offensive line is suspect going into the season I think gardener has to be the option.
That just speaks alot of our defense you ask me
It’s one practice
Sanjit the Raider Guru, the music definitely needs beats bass & others, I'm not being negative! RN4L 🔥 ☠️ 🏈 🤬🔥
Prediction: 1st TD of the year will be AOC to Bowers 🎉
I have not for a single day since we signed Minshew, thought that Aidan can beat him. This is not a surprise to me. Mobility is key to keeping plays a live and doing more. Aidan does not have that.
Tre tucker having a bad camp is kinda confusing. He caught literally everything last season
@@MackLVRaiders He really didn't tho & he had problems getting his feet in bounds & securing the rock.
I'm not sure you watched tucker last year?
Tre tucker bobbled the ball on some critical plays last year and I hope he has the toe tap down this season. It's all a matter of focus and concentration though. I think he'll be fine.
No he didn't lmao, I swear some of yall just say things to talk
@prowellerable Don't bother arguing with these simpletons. We watched the same games bro. Like I wanna see my team struggle so I'm making this up, FOH
Sanjit. No offense at all brother… and I really respect your work!!! But you may wanna check your source
He’s the best QB we have AOC is 2nd string at best tbh why pay somebody ne so much to ride the bench
I thought Eichenberg's weakness in in pass coverage, not against the run?
No, his weakness is getting off blocks vs the run.
@@SanjitT ty! I guess this is easier to correct.
I'm good with either one, but whoever starts will be benched if they start a losing streak
And if the Defence is what we think they are then POT will be a big stat that will greatly increase the scoring Offence.
we need a "minshew mania" if we're gonna make a run
The quandary is not sucking bad enough to draft high enough to draft a stud on a rookie deal vs. breaking the bank with a guy like Dak, thus diluting the roster with so much money tied to the QB position.
Minshew Mania
Gruden didn't use motion enough either... Bo Hardagree is the only Raider OC to use it and he was at the last page of the playbook.
As much as I like O'Connell deep ball minshews salary says he's not there to be the backup 💯
Anthony Brown Jr will be our Quarterback by Week 3 . I still rather Bring in Ryan Tannerhill to give us a better chance at Winning .
Tucker has had issues with securing the ball so I'm not surprised by the drops. Let's not forget how he bobbled most of his catches last year. If he can't get that figured out, he'll be no good to any team.
Tulu Griffin!
Why do you keep saying Tom telesco!!! AP is the coach!! He decides!! Tom is there to get Ap the players he needs. Not decide who the Qb is!!!
You don't decide a mans career over a practice.
What about all the lousy play from AOC last year? Can we include that in his evaluation.
GARDOG will b QB1 HE will lead LV to the freakin playoffs ☠️
Statistically Garnder wasn't any better than AOC. Rookie shows more potential than a 5 year journeyman.
we talkin bout practice? - AI
@@dnice4145 You serious a 3rd string rookie thrown in fire mid season new regime. He keeps us in all but maybe 1 game, swept our division, and finished last 4 games 9 TDs and 1 int. Give the man a chance to honestly fail or succeed.
I know it's early but I remember saying when the pads come on Minshew is going to separate himself & look lol
The way it looks our two potentially best OL won't be available to start the season so the smart play is go with the vet who can move around n make things happen
I'm all about whoever helps us win right now n I'm 90% sure it's Minshew
Minshew starting to make noise guess said, starting to click let's go Raider's
If Minshew wins the Job Raiders are in trouble it means they still don’t have a starting caliber QB though I like Minshew he’s not what this organization needs to win a SB
True!! But I think the plan for the Raiders was always to get a QB. I
Idk who u talking to but it’s been 2 days lol we haven’t seen them in an actual game let’s just wait and see how preseason plays out
Not convinced Minshew has a higher ceiling.
Both QBs are flawed in different ways.
Everyone is flawed
Best arms in the NFL😂😂😂😂 love ya channel…..but I was waiting for the one guy you GAS every season……I just got it lol
Tucker sound like James Jett, bad memories. :(
O'Connell was never going to be the starter. Knew it after Gardner was signed
"Extending the play" = the OL isnt doing its job or the QB isnt getting rid of the ball quick enough 🤷♂️
I’m pretty sure this is a case of Wagner not wanting to hurt teammates
This means we should be looking for our next QB. We know what Minshews ceiling is.
If the O line can block then AOC will start. If the line can't block then we will be going with GM, he's more mobile.
They supposed to start rough at offense against our defence. Simple. In fact it would be a problem if they didn’t.
It’s ok for Tre get the yips out .. the man just put on a ton of muscle so things need to work out.
We'll see how it looks during preseason
The QB job should not be decided the first week in pads. Give them two or three weeks to win the job. Neither QB is the future of this franchise, let them fight it out and let the best man win. Yes this team has some weapons that can be fun to watch. Unless this team figures out the o-line the weapons are useless. Reverses cannot be run when the entire d-line is in the backfield. Or like you said if this line cannot block we have to keep in the TE's to help which limits the offense and will make it difficult to move the ball through the air with 2 receivers running routes.
I really don’t care who our QB is as long we r winning
Bears had one of the best run game last season under Getsy
And one of the worst performing passing games. Lol
@BillyBob-zg2qw Half the blame should be on the QB. The Bears were leading most of the games going into the 4th qtr and JF made a lot of reckless throws and reads. Once he gets run in his head there's no going back to the pass.
The offense had their best day of camp under Minshew per multiple sources. Too early to name a QB1, but Gardner is clearly in the lead
Here is what Vic Tafur said: Minshew has had the better day thus far, but O’Connell also had some drops. Tucker continues to have a rough camp. Bowers continues to look like the real deal, and it will be interesting to see how many carries he gets this season.
He also said: Best pass of the day: High-arcing 30-yard TD in left corner, from O’Connell to Turner.
One good day he’s clearly in the lead OK I’ll go get my credit card and social security number
@@5049usrluvtyx There's a sucka born every minute. If the shoe fits, wear it bucko
@zsumone Funny how all you Carrdashians turned Aidan meat riders forget that he knocked us out of playoff contention last yr. Try depositing those corny jokes into your over drawn bank account 🤣.
1 day of practice is not enough to win the job. It will take the whole preseason
I just don't think that Minshew has the arm strength to stretch a defense, and Getsy likes the deep ball. He doesn't fit as our starter, unless we'll be more of a short passing offense, in which case we'll be wasting some of Tucker's speed.
Letting Carr walk for NOTHING looks so silly r n
No DC4 wasn't at world beater but it's times like this when our roster is upper tier makes you mad Josh pushed him out.
That's ok if Minshew wins the Job. That way AOC will definitely be ready when called.
AOC doesnt have it. Minshew has like 15% of it. Simple as that. Seasons gonna be a bummer to any of the fools saying its gonna be an 11 win season. Be realistic folks. Lets go get Jaxson Dart next draft.
Hondo Carpenter is saying saying Aiden is leading
Tucker doesn't need to go home, he needs to stay an hour after practice by himself with the pass machine, everyday
