- Here it is... The race nobody wanted. We decided to invite friends and fellow shop owners in town to race us with junk cars. It was completed planned and executed in about 4 days. Let me just say it was an absolute blast. We had so much fun and we're rooting for each other as vehicles struggled and died along the way. Even tho Team Trailmater technically won, I say we all won on the fun scale. Let us know in the comments what you guys think, cuz we would love to do this again. So, you go out and spend $100k on an off-road beast, you take it out, and something expensive breaks right away. You buy a $500 shitbox, and beat the living crap out of it, and have way more fun, because WHO CARES?? A most excellent video, Rory!

That 4.3 is no joke. The 4l60e behind it is absolutely a joke, but the 4.3 just keeps going no matter what you do to it. My Gambler Astro has over 300k on it and it won't quit.

That was fun. Rory, he just runs on pure driving skill. He don’t need nothing else.
We do that out in the forested mountains here in Washington state. We call it Stump Hopping. most of the junkers don't survive but we have a lot of fun out there. the dead cars are chained to a pickup and dragged cross the clear cuts, hitting the stumps launches the car five to eight feet off the ground spilling passengers out onto the ground. HAHAHAHAHA
The mighty 4.3 and Rory's delicate touch at the helm for the win! You could just the the care with which he tip toed through the tulips.

@@thatdudeinorange5269 I had an '87 Astro van. Great tent on wheels for dirt bike camping. It had over 250K on it when I sold it to a friend of mine's kid, who got T boned in it. It's under a tabletop jump on a motocross track now.

`One of the funniest things I have ever seen "drive it like you stole it" means so much more to me now.
There is something magical about Astros. I’ve had one for almost 20 years as a winter vehicle because it is hands down the best thing I have ever driven in the snow.
