    I've never used a wooden dummy, but from what I've seen from this video, it's great for making the arms and legs tougher and stronger, and helping practice keeping your balance when meeting resistance.

    I loved both sets of forms. But liked the 1st one even more, he was going all out on the dummy. The form may not be as precise as the second set but you can see his offence and defence was solid. The 1st dummy was well constructed and heavy but not fixed to the floor. His hits, blocks, kicks and sweeps were delivered with so much force that the dummy was shifting on the floor leading me to believe it is a much useful than dummies that are fixed and do not yield.

    I'm a former Choy Lee Fut student and I have applied the forms in a real street fight. CLF sets itself apart in defending against multiple attackers with it's powerful free flowing accuracy in defending in any direction. A defensive move can be a strike at the same time.

      You're taking Bruce's words from the movie very out of context.
      When Bruce mentioned that in his movie, he was speaking in regards to Karateka's who try to claim fighting proficiency in showmanship by breaking wooden boards which did nothing more then condition and show off. The dummy in kungfu arts is there to hon the techniques found within the system. You do not fight the dummy, it is a mere tool to help with making your techniques more precise.
      Do us a favor and take a class or do your real research before regurgitating Lee's words and hoping on the bandwagon just too feel more popular with the internet's widely misinformed martial art demography.

      +Milko Macariola not always about street fighting. It's also an art form.

      You doesn't understand anything about shaolin, they don't learn it to fight other people, especially in street fight.

      You literally looked up a shoal in monk (notably and historically proven to be the most peaceful warriors who FACT: Live in Mountains that do not have streets or paved roads.) showing his martial arts form on a wooden dummy; let me say this once more WOODEN DUMMY, and somehow misconstrued the display as an unfeasible use in a street fight? You must be one the smartest most intelligent and observant martial artist and street fighter on RUclips. Ignoramus!

    • @subwoofer6726
      @subwoofer6726 8 лет назад +1

      Milko Macariola
      Yeah, as if you actually fight yourself. The only thing you train is those fingers to type away bs on a keyboard lol.

    • @josephuia
      @josephuia 2 года назад +1

      @@izlude757 there are two ways we train Choy Lee fut, form and fighting. The form is for strengthening and stretching the body and isn’t used for fighting. The fighting stance in Choy Lee fut is very different to the form stance as the guard is much closer to protect yourself.
