Such a lively little kitty. It is an amazing transformation from when you rescued Alera from the streets. He turned out to be a beautiful cat, thanks to your wonderful heart. I know you miss Alera terribly. It is sad that his time on earth was so short.

This reminds me of a cat my sister once had that became paralyzed in its hind legs from a viral infection. The veterinarian recommended euthanasia, but my sister refused. She fashioned a harness that buckled around the cat's chest and had a pad for its hind legs to rest on. The cat was able to pull itself around quite well with its front legs and didn't seem to notice that it was in any way handicapped. I believe the cat lived a normal life span.
Hehe Alera is so cute and so are the rest of your babies. We recently adopted a cat that my sister found under our steps. Someone had burned her whiskers, ears and eyebrows on purpose :( But now shes in a very loving home with 3 other pets that are her new siblings. We named her Hello kitty ^_^

She was stuck there, but now she's a lazy healthy cat xD My sister is so mean, didn't want anything to do with her, growl. At this moment of writting, Alera is having diarhea, he is not sick though, just abit diarhea and Mimi, the orange kitty is having fever and not eating. I have brought Mimi to the vet and the doc gave her an injection and some medicine.
As long as the cat seems happy and healthy let it live, its "quality of life" seems pretty good at the moment. If it's properly cared for and protected by people who love it then it can have a very happy life. Sick and/or old animals deserve to live and be happy as much as a healthy one. If it was in terminal pain then yeah, I would agree to have it put down but he seems like a spunky little guy.
I hate how some people just give up on poor animals and say that the poor thing should be killed. The cat looks so healthy and happy, I don't know why anyone is posting such mean things. You are very kind to be helping the poor cat. This isn't a message from 'Wedgamus' but he thinks the same thing. thank you for helping the animals =D
It would seem so USA1977. I urge you to carry on watching the videos and see what fantastic progress has been made :) He is currently awaiting the delivery of a wheelchair to allow him better movement without dragging his hind everywhere :)

That's right....she shouldn't be put asleep. Think of it as Alera being a human being. Just because a person cannot use their legs does not mean they should die. They are easily put into a wheelchair and given attention. And the same should be given to a poor kitten.

if you're talking about the cat- why would you kill it because it has a skin problem that can be treated easily? if you're talking about the dogs- other than having the problems of being blind and the other one having athritis- these dogs are perfectly healthy and they have a home that loves them, so there is no need to kill them. humans get the same problem-should you kill them too? i respect this guy for having animals that will find it hard to find a home due to medical costs.
