Also she already has a rabbit, I think. Cats are my favorite animals but I wouldn't be comfortable having one cohabitating with a rabbit. Cats kinda play rough with each other and might mistake a rabbit as a playmate and rabbits can have heart attacks when they're spooked apparently. Edit: just got further into the video and apparently they already have two cats. Maybe they keep the rabbit and cats separate, or rabbits aren't as fragile as I was lead to believe. I could be wrong, I don't know much about rabbits. Either way it's a lot to ask somebody to keep multiple kittens out of the blue.
@@FluffyEclairs Good to know that I wasn't given bad info, thanks for letting me know. Keeping them separate is definitely the way to go so I'm sure she's doing that.
i feel like if you already have cats like they do, you may not need to ask the landlord... but also like. "when you rent" - way to generalize for no reason? depending on the contract, "normal pets" like dogs or cats might be allowed by default. depending on the country, you may have a *Right* to pet ownership. (I do! From what I've heard from friends in NZ, their renters rights vs landlords suck, so you may be right in NZs case but this is not true everywhere! )
I've always read and heard 12 weeks is the minimum. My kittens were only allowed to come home with me once they hit 12 weeks. Adopting kittens out in pairs is also ideal but unfortunately not always possible.
Kittens do best in pairs! Ideally with one girl and one boy, since the girls can, at times, get soo much more territorial but that may not need to be a thing to worry about since they would be growing up together, so long as they both get fixed the second they're old enough, or whichever two seem to have the strongest bond
behavioural experts recommend keeping a pair of each together since boys are way more energetic and wanna fight play than most girls so they would make the girls life way harder. Also minimises the risk of them inbreeding and you can give them more time to grow up completely.
The two black kitties are probably my favorite, they’re so cute. But I’m also very biased. If you do end up adopting them out please make sure they go to very good homes cuz of all the bad reputation they get :(. I dont understand why people don’t like black cats. My kitty Twilight Sparkle is the sweetest cat ever. Thank you so much for rescuing all of them!!
thank you so much for rescuing these lil babies! i have fostered a TON of kitties, around 10+ in the past 2 years... it is such a rewarding experience. we have 4 foster fails (fosters we ended up adopting) with our first one being an abandoned kitten we named Tangy... he was found in a field with no other cats around at 4-5 weeks old :( he is extremely skittish but he loves my mom, she basically tamed him. but yeah fostering is awesome and also heart-wrenching sometimes, especially the history of some kitties you get / seeing them finally get adopted. again, thank you for taking in those kittens to foster em, i'm sure they're as appreciative as kittens get! 🥰
As an avid cat lover, I could not EVER imagine DUMPING kittens in a DUMPSTER?! Those babies are sooooo cute! Poor things, they deserve all the love. It disgust me that someone could throw living beings away like that- it's so sad....
I've fostered and grew kittens and those kittens seem to be around 7-10 weeks most likely 8 weeks but they probably look bigger on camera, if you want to make sure you can check their teeth. Also they are super adorable and I'm really glad you found them they sure do look like a active bunch. I also love your videos and Much love ❤.
Thank you so much for fostering the kittens, I've had three cats in my life so far, two of them passed on, leaving one of the cats child alone, thankfully he's gotten friendly around my dog and now they are like best friends, they give each other baths and they love to lounge around each other!
May I suggest the name Eileen for the lil panther girl?? Eileen is the name of the Hunter of Hunters, also known as the Crow, from Bloodborne~ Gotta have an equally corvid name to match Draven afterall ;v
I love when people take care of cats and kittens because one time I had this bad anxiety when someone was just recording it and not helping it if I tell you I'm to have that anxiety again
Aw look at the litttle babies! It looks like they were saved just in time! Please be careful with fur and feather toys though as they can be a big choking hazard if ingested.
There is a cat lady in my neighborhood that feeds stray cats, one of her cats is giving birth in my garden almost every year, after about 2 months she takes her kittens and gives them to this lady, I don't know what she does with them and I've never spoke to her, but we have never seen any of them grown up in the neighborhood.
We have about 12 cats in our house RN and We've never adopted any of them we've either gotten them from somebody else or bread them are self I know a lot about cats and kittens we keep them with their mother for 12 months cuz in my mother's opinion it's better for them its really sad that people abandoned such cute kittens.
Here in America (Or at least here in California), if you surrender an animal to the shelter, they put you on a registry or something like that to prevent you from adopting pets. I think it's for 2 years, but it could be longer. Typically, this is when you surrender your own pets. However, there have been cases of people surrendering kittens/puppies either from unexpected births of their animals or found dumped somewhere (or thrown in plastic bags and in dumpsters; that is something I see a lot here, and it's horrible and makes me, a grown man, cry every time) or finding friendly stray cats and bringing them in also being put on these registries despite them not being their animals. It's a mistake, yes, but it's a pain to fix that. However, while I think it's a good thing this exists for people who abuse their animals or hoard them and are forced to surrender, I don't think people who put their pets before themselves and surrender them because they fell in a financial or mental hard spot should be punished for doing the right thing. I also feel like this is why many people here prefer to dump rather than take them to a shelter. I want to clarify that this is not excusing this; it's horrible, and some people can be cruel in how they get rid of unwanted animals, and they definitely should be barred from adopting if they do things like that. However, I also think we should try to make it easier for people who want to do the right thing but don't want any long-term consequences (as maybe they are unfit right now but want to adopt in the future) to surrender animals without fearing that they won't be able to adopt (when they sort things in their personal life out of course) after bringing a pet in.
I'm Australian, and where I live, if you adopt an animal, you need to fill out a form, and you have to write down if you've ever surrendered a pet before. Never knew lists were a thing, though!
When I was growing up our cat had a couple of litters before she was spayed (I know irresponsable) but because of that I find it pretty easy to determine the age of kittens and these kittens look around 8 weeks old.A couple of the kittens look like they could be younger based on their size but they are way too energetic and steady on their feet to be much younger than 8 weeks old. Leo definitely looks the size of the an 8 week old kitten. The others are on the smaller side and from just a photo they look around 6-7 weeks but in the video they just have way too much energy to be that far off 8 weeks.
Aww the kitties 🥹💕 I remember when my dad took the three kittens in when his co worker was giving them away, and if nobody adopts them….they put the kittens in the pound Im currently living with the three adopted kittens who are grown now :3 they helped me and my family though the pandemic
Genuine question, how do you manage to take care of so many animals? I'd imagine it being like a full time job cause taking care of just one is hard enough.
i just can't wrap my mind around the fact that people do this shit, leave animals like that just without a care in the world, like why?? but hey i instantly knew where ellie got her name from! i named my cat the same for the same reason ♡
We rescued a cat with her three kittens a couple years ago, And little did we know we were about to have a kitten problem. We ended up catching the Catching the kittens first and then finally caught the mama, after we got the kittens rehomed and scheduled appointment to get her fixed we noticed there was movement happening in her belly. Apparently, she had one last fling before we caught her and We decided to cancel the appointment Because we did not like the idea of them killing the kittens to get her fixed. Literally a day after she was supposed to get fixed she had 4 kittens, It was fun watching them grow up but we couldn't keep all of them, so they all got lovely homes. but we decided to keep the mama because of how sweet she was.
Veterinarian here! Please don’t be worried about separating them or going to homes with no other cats! Cats are solitary creatures and don’t have the same bonds to their family as humans. If they are separated for around a month or longer, they won’t remember their family. Cats are very territorial as well, even when raised together. It’s likely that as they get older they won’t like each other as much and might *need* to be separated, especially the males. I used to have two male kittens around the same age (7-8 weeks) who I rescued and they had to be separated around the time they were 2 months old due to the fact they became territorial. They used to be like this 🤞! So just don’t be worried if that’s the outcome you have to have. 💓
Not entirely true. Cats are solitary animals, yes, but feral and wild cats are also known for forming cat colonies in the wild if there are enough resources. Despite their reputation as independent creatures, cats create strong social bonds, particularly between siblings. I see more benefits of having two siblings grow up together than by themselves. There are several explanations for why cats become more territorial when they're older: Intact male cats are more territorial than neutered and therefore more likely to fight each other and urinate in their surroundings. Traumatic experience as kittens, like they've been separated from their mother at a young age. Traumatic experiences as an adult, like moving to a new place, getting new furniture, or a new family member. Not enough resources in their home, like litter boxes, places for food and water, cat beds, scratching posts... All cats are unique. Some do better in groups and others by themselves, but in this case, with kittens this young, I would encourage keeping them in pairs.
@@northernlights02 Yep, cats can be incredibly social and kittens almost always do better in pairs. One of my cats is super social. When one of my cats passed away I had to adopt another cat a few months later as my remaining cat became really depressed being on his own. Within days the two cats were playing together and quickly became best friends!
I have to disagree with the vet. I manage a colony of Community Cats as well as my own indoor cats and they are not "independent." They are very social. All of my indoors are related to the outdoor cats, and they very much act like a family. The vet sounds like they need to do some more current research or talk to people who spend time caring for colonies and observing their behavior.
Quote from Kitten Lady's article about why two kittens are better than one: "One of the most important ways we can support the behavioral and emotional development of a kitten is to make sure they’ve got a friend. Despite the common belief that cats are solitary animals, they’re actually incredibly social beings who thrive when they have feline friends from an early age. That’s why I always recommend adopting two kittens, or adopting a solo kitten only if you already have another young cat in the home for the kitten to befriend." Can also say that cats very much benefit from other cats, coming from someone who has 4. 🐱
Cats are absolutely not solitary animals. Sure they do like their alone time but groups of cats usually live in colonies and it's preferred that you have two cats. But of course everyone can not have two cats, it's fine to have only one cat too and cats not used to other cats of course do better alone.
People saying adopt them she would have to talk to her landlord, when you rent you can't just get new animals without permission.
And not adopting every foster means you can foster more animals in the future
Also she already has a rabbit, I think. Cats are my favorite animals but I wouldn't be comfortable having one cohabitating with a rabbit. Cats kinda play rough with each other and might mistake a rabbit as a playmate and rabbits can have heart attacks when they're spooked apparently.

Just keep a pair of whoever seems most bonded to each other, male or female. I think the differences between the sexes are way over-exaggerated.
I thought males were the ones who got territorial I mean I did have aggressive female cats iny childhood
Kittens and the fact they are abandoned like this make me cry so hard but I’m so grateful you found them 😭
