Great video of the "tip of the iceberg" that is being a crewchief in the USAF. I crewed F-15 C/D's from 1991 to 2010. Then A-10C's from 2010 to 2013. Great memories on the flightline...but the 'launch and lounge' thing is just the beginning. My favorite shift was swings...tons of maintenance and cooler temps.
Respect, I was a crew chief on 15s this job is by no means easy , constantly have to be on point being responsible for these jets and safety of the pilots. Constantly being exposed to extreme heat or extreme cold and working 12+ hour shifts thank you for your service and sacrifice 🇺🇸
F4G wild Weasel and F16 crew chief in 90's. Saw lots of deployments overseas. Ball busting job. Looks shiny on camera but it's an highly detailed job with no room for error and 14 hour days. For those of you who choose this path I commend you. You are in the real Air Force.
@@carlkpsplucky5554 it’s not the same. Because DCC and ADCC get their names on the plane pilots don’t. and they assign the acft name. Also they are the primary maintainer, so some staff or tech will tell you “hey your plane has a hydro leak” and pilots fly whatever plane is ready fly they aren’t assigned a plane
You have one heck of a job and I was in the Air Force for 24 years and worked on the B-52 D,G, and H models as a munitions maintenance specialist, and then on the A-10 Thunderbolt II, and lastly on the C-130, C-141, and C-5 aircraft before retiring. I always wondered what it would be like to work on the F-15 Strike Eagles and maintain them and you have a nice job and I wish you all the best in your career.
I always wondered what's so hard about wearing a disco belt on a persons waist. I crewed F-16's and would've loved to have these shelters instead of the open ramp.
Brings back memories. I guess your jfs was good to go? Dang thanks for the vid. I could have done without the year in Iceland but got to work alert there and at Tyndall so it wasn’t all bad.
honestly in techschool they teach you the basics but at work your constantly learning new things so just be ready to work and learn. there’s still so much i don’t know about workin on the jet so i’m still learning
#Newsubscriber! Love your videos so much that I’ve been binging them today 😆❤️ I’m hoping for this job as well! Taking another practice asvab test on Tuesday with my recruiter before taking the real one 😱 Can’t wait for more videos! Female maintainers are badass 🙌🏾🔥
Yeah in my shop it would be a little awkward to be filmed like this. Props to you! When you ranking up though from Amn? You've been in for a minute haven't you?
Wish you would've told us what the orange tags were that you were pulling down. Good video, but I wish there was more dialogue. I'm thinking about going crew chief, but it's so hard to find a good informative video on what you all do.
michael simpfenderfer Would really consider anything other than mx tbh, especially crew chiefs. In simple terms, crew chiefs are responsible for the whole plane. Specs like Hydraulics, Engines, GAC, etc take care of their respected systems on the plane (pretty much all the major systems on a plane). However crew chiefs pretty much handle the rest of shit specs don’t do.
F15 crew chief tech school is pretty easy. It’s 89 days at sheppard afb in texas and you’re going through basic maintenance, starting from learning what tools are.
No safe for maintenance inspection? WTF? 25 year crew chief here and did not notice one T.O. in use. I hate to be an asshole but I am a crew chief and we eat our own.
Really???? I hate to call you out , but we ALL know that you didn't have your T.O. in your hand 100% of the time. Especially during a safe for maintenance inspection.
Typical "bed of roses" style film. Good film but not like the real thing. Long hours in the hot sun. We were worked like dogs and we did it with a force of first termers (most of whom left the service). Being a crew chief is indeed a ball busting job. I worked swing my first two and one half years. One thing we definitely did not need was 2Lts who thought they were better than every one. The next thing was four MSgts from QC coming out to inspect the work of an A1C with less than a year on board. How did they stay that clean after working? Good job but we were not allowed to visit base facilities after work because we were not IAW AFR 35-10 because our uniforms were proof we worked like dogs. Most pilots treated us with respect. I was a crew chief on the Wing Commander's Bird. He always treated me like his son. We all busted our butts for him. He had been POW. He could have had a Captain carry his balls out to fly but he did that job himself. A real hero. May he walk with our Lord today.
Agreed. Cool video. I was thinking about sending this back home so my kids could see what their dad does, especially my daughter but not with those lyrics.
Sorry, loved the video and respect what you do. On the otherhand, your choice of background music is really quite sad. Disrespectful and insulting. Please do better

Damn, I was considering the job until I read this 👀
Don’t let it discourage you go for it
don’t do it, it’s a trap 🥴 Look into inflight refueling or loadmaster! I woulda done those if I knew what this job was all about tbh
Well never mind that discourage to pick that job.

You've got a cool job. Up close and personal with the pilots and their jets! And you're a girl! 😊 You rock!
They’re OUR jets. Pilots just fly them.
Those sexy pilots 🤤
@@legitfarmers ehh, that logic could be reversed and I could say “Thise are the pilots jets, you just fix them”.
There both of your Jets

I loved how you checked the box right before taxi. Good work Airman. 👏

Also was it hard to learn your job/ execute when you got there? Or were you fully prepared after tech? What should I be expecting when I get there?
honestly in techschool they teach you the basics but at work your constantly learning new things so just be ready to work and learn. there’s still so much i don’t know about workin on the jet so i’m still learning
this job your always gonna be learning new things
how long is your shift?
I L🖤VE your vids looking forward to the next one !!
Super dope!!!🔥💯💯💯🔥
How are your hours as a crew chief? I’m currently in tech and going to be a crew chief for b-2s
As a CC I can tell you that hours you work depend on your base/ops tempo. Goodluck and "study, train, graduate."😂
Fighters are very long hours.
Is mountain home a good base
what will I have to do to get my name in one of those jets?
Nice, how do you get to that?
Omggg I’m just in time 😭💗
#Newsubscriber! Love your videos so much that I’ve been binging them today 😆❤️ I’m hoping for this job as well! Taking another practice asvab test on Tuesday with my recruiter before taking the real one 😱 Can’t wait for more videos! Female maintainers are badass 🙌🏾🔥

i get sra in aug
Awesome what you’re doing! I’m trying to enlist and get hold of a recruiter but I can’t bc of what’s going on😔
My recruiter told me there’s a community college at every base & you can get a degree while being active. Is that true?
it’s online school
Great vlog

Orange tags are like safety locks for munitions and landing gear are when planes parked. Pull them before flight.

Qué bkn verte, primita!! Muy interesante su trabajo 💜 lástima que sea pa'lxs milicxs no más 😭 jijiji
Haha. Day shift. Where are the swings and mids chiefs? That's where the real job starts.
What is your AFSC?

Wow, with that music you can kiss recruitment bye bye.
LMFAOO ok

imagine fixing a jet. #swings
you guys ever get a free ride?
Crew chiefs almost never get incentive flights. But you never know, if you’re astounding at your job then maybe
All good, but you forgot to remove one flag underneath of Jet....
Weapons remove that at EOR.

Really had to use a rap song with this language? There's plenty other stuff to choose from.
Agreed. Cool video. I was thinking about sending this back home so my kids could see what their dad does, especially my daughter but not with those lyrics.
Totally agree
Fuckin crew chiefs
Am i first ?
