No joke, I found out about this from Tony Hinchcliffe at a show he was putting on the day it happened. Me and my friends thought he was fucking with us because he knew that the venue confiscated our phones and we couldn’t check them during the show. We only found out it was true when we got out.
As far as the actual event is concerned, I feel the most sympathy for the family of the man who got killed during the event. What a horrible thing to have to experience. I also agree with you that Trump will probably exploit the hell out of this in order to gin up support. I know he’s gonna be speaking at the RNC this week, and I’m sure it’ll be a focal point of his speech.

I'm saddened and horrified that you experienced an active shooter situation, especially right by your doorway. I'm glad you weren't physically injured!
It's lovely that you have compassion and empathy for so many people with glaringly differing opinions to your own.
I'm also very sad for the people who were injured and/or killed at that event in PA. How very scary that must have been for everyone present.

Too often in politics people lose their humanity. Some of the commentators I've followed over the years flip the switch surprisingly quick; going from caring and kind to unironically celebrating the death of politicians they dislike. It's honestly one of the main things that bums me out about these kinds of discussions, I get really tired of people foregoing much of their sensibility just to emphasize their dislike for some random DC rodent.
I don't share your hate for Trump. I don't really like him, but I don't hate him either. I am happy you found it within yourself to extend the same empathy towards him that you would others, despite your bias.
Anyways, we all knew this was inevitable. I'm actually surprised it took this long considering the level of distain for him.

From what I have seen so far and filtered through, though honestly from my own biases of modern internet, it seems the shooter was a self-radicalized individual who was raised on a Common Core education along with being taught, unironically, that one out of three women WILL be s.a.'d during college. A republican voting incel who was led by the internet/twitter to believe Donald Trump was literally Hitler and the reason why republicans are both considered to be dangerous and a joke.
I can't remember his name, but he reminds me of the 20-something year old with the online porn and gambling addiction who ended up killing his parents.
But he wasn't hired by democrats or any of that conspiracy bs. He was a lone, radicalized generation Z incel.

So the Republicans radicalised him into going after Trump because he was already a republican?
