I love that you look at the aesthetic value of a card. If something is cool looking, you immediately take pause, put it aside to look it up. I find this way of looking at cards extremely valuable as a card hunter. I am an artist & love dollar boxes. I routinely find $20 cards in $1 boxes just by looking at the aesthetic value of a card & looking it up. Good stuff as always.
Aesthetic is important, especially with lower end cards….I sold a card of a fairly obscure player a couple weekends, just because he was in a ball pit in the picture, I just thought it was interesting and unique

Good point…i still think I could get more than the lowest copy available on eBay…other recently have gotten the amount shown. These boxes, I took a few chances…so I may end up at the $2 on that one :)
Jealous of you here! I'd love to sit there for a day hunting the parallels I need to complete some older sets. I'd also grab a lot of the local favorites for my area, TAMU, UTA, Houston, Dallas players.

Do you ever struggle with liking players and have to convince yourself not to buy them because the card just isn't worth it even though that player was great and the card is cool? That has been my biggest hurdle so far.
I do :) and honestly sometimes I buy the card anyway. Thankfully with bargain boxes i can do that and enjoy the card find and move it on to someone who equally enjoys it :)

Honestly I don’t have set rules…I’ve sold stuff just because I liked it…and lost money ( obviously very rarely…but I love cards)
