This 3 part series on the range coop has been incredibly useful and informative. We are working on building our first range coops this winter and using them next spring. Exact same size as yours, except they'll travel short ways instead of long ways like yours. Have you got a winch yet? That seams like a genius idea, I'm so glad you said it, thank you very much.
Thanks for the feedback and hope you found it helpful. It was a while coming for us as scaling up with hand pull tractors was just getting old. Everything worked well. I need to add a few more purlins as there was some sag with rain in the tarp. Other than that, worked great. Just have to be careful with turns as we had one fatality from that. The boards worked well as they scooted out the bottom and we had no issues if one got left behind. We purchased the winch, but never used it. We pulled the nose of our gator up to the shelter, then backed up so that I could keep an eye on the birds as I was moving it. We just finished up for the season but will be using the winch next spring and I’ll definitely have a video on that. Glad to answer any questions if I can be of any assistance with your build, and best of luck!
Thanks for sharing! Might try checking out the you tube video teaching how to make feeders using 50 gallon blue drum for feeders - dump a few bags of feed in there and be done for a few days! Same thing with making an auto waterer with the blue 50 gallon drums - heavy to move but saves quite a few minutes each week. Have fun - stay cool!
