This October I only read Dracula books 🧛‍♂ ! It was really cool to start from the classic and move onto more modern interpretations of Count Dracula.
Have you read any of these? What did you think?

I love Dracula. I love the writing style and it was one of those classics that I had in my TBR for long time. I was mesmerized by the myths and legends of vampires. I have pending the Historian to read. I never heard of that second book, I will check it out. Great video

Definitely recommend the other two. And yeah the lore behind Dracula is awesome, but I already knew a lot of it just by growing up in Romania I guess 😅

I quite enjoyed Dracula when I read it but I read it for a Vampire Culture course so it was a lot of fun to discuss it in class. A Dowery of Blood sounds really good! If you want more about the Brides of Dracula there's a trilogy following each one. The first is called Daughter of Shadow and Blood by J. Matthews Saunders. I just found this out recently but there was another vampire book published the same year as Dracula, by a woman and it's about racism, the occult and science. It's called The Blood of the Vampire by Florence Marryat.

I’ve read The Historian and thought the same. I liked listening to it on audio versus reading the text. It was comforting and gave me studying lore, legends and history with an underlying threat vibe. I am currently reading A Discovery of Witches and it is like The Historian with touch of Twilight (no sparkles though)

A Discovery of Witches is also on my TBR, might be a great read for next year's spooky season 😊

ya, I read Dracula back in high-school and had similar feelings about it. Notable but not really enjoyable. :S
I really gotta check out A Dowry of Blood now. Thanks for the vid!
by the way -- you really rock the horn-rimmed glasses look! :D

I have never read Dracula by Bram Stoker. BUT, the Diary of Blood sounds very interesting. Thanks for the recommendation.
I have not read any Annr Rice books. Her most famous one is Interview with a Vampire...that was made into a movie with Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Kirsten Dunst, Christan Slater, Antonio Bandares, and many others.
I'm interested if you've read it?
Funny to think about, I've watched more movies about Vampires than I've read books about them.
My favorite Vampire movie was directed by Katherine Bigelow called Near Dark (1987). Starring three actors that were in Aliens by James Cameron...lead by Bill Paxton.
I read a LOT of Urban Fantasy...so Vampires are always in the mix, but not always the main protagonist or villain. Patricia Briggs, Jim Butcher, Melissa F. Olson, etc., but their protagonists are some other mythical creature, Shapeshifter Coyote, Werewolves, and Magicians...that deal with Vampires within their stories.
The Sookie Stackhouse novels started off quirky and interesting, but then got ridiculous IMO. I watched a few season of True Blood, but then it got ridiculous, too.
Thanks for this video. Love your content.

I was planning on reading Interview With A Vampire for this video but then decided just to stick with three books. So yes I am interested in reading it, it's one of the books about vampires I heard about way before Twilight was a thing and a lot of my friends in school were reading but I never got around to it.

You really get interesting themes to have for your books to read, despite this being an obvious choice for the month. I'm looking forward to your themes for November and December. Cheers, Iasmina! 😍🤓🥰

Hello, Iasmina!! Once again, a very good video!
I want to ask you something, about your "reading Dracula" experience though...
I'll start by saying that, of course, everyone is entitled to have their own opinion, and we all have different views about everything. But, something came to my mind, and I wanted to ask your opinion about it.
I know that you've read a lot of different genres, but I also know that YA is probably your favourite, or at least, one of you favourites... And here's what came to my mind:
Maybe, and I just say maybe, the fact that you've read a lot of YA, wich is more "simple" reading, in terms of complexity, language, etc (I hope you understand what I mean with this, and that by no means I'm trying to say that YA is worse than other genres), has made classics such as "Dracula" harder to meet your standards for enjoyment?
I mean, classics are known for being a bit heavy in terms of reading, descriptions, and other stuff. Even the writing style is very different than more modern and also YA Literature in general (another example could be Frankenstein, for a classic in wich the writing style is very different than modern books). So, do you think there may be something about it, about reading YA a lot, that could've make you enjoy it not very much? I know this was redacted like crap, but I'm sleepy, I'm sorry xD 😅.
I'd recommend you "Salem's Lot", by Stephen King ;)

This year I've re-read Carmilla. I needed something short 'cause, life. I usually re-read Drácula every Halloween. But is amazing for anytime of the year considering we have 43 Celsius in Argentina. I'm sorry you didn't like it the way I did. At least now you know. Taking notes about the other two. 🤗🤗
