    Just tried this recipe: I had to use 3 tbsp of oil to get the right consistency and removing the skin from the hazelnuts took much longer than anticipated, but it turned out great. I would recommend using double the ingredients, just trying to scrape the finished product out into a jar was tedious and it's probably not, in my opinion, worth the time and effort making such a small batch. I was also using a NutriBullet and I can't say it was the best choice, the container has ridges on the inside that make it difficult to scrape out and I think the recipe was a little rough on the motor. With a decent blender and some experience though this is a great recipe, thanks!

    I just made this! I'm eating right now with my homemade spelt bread. I didn't put oil and use 1/2 cup of raw honey and it's soo delicious. Can't wait for my kids to try it since there still at school. Was reading the comments before I made it to get some ideas. There was one who said that he also used honey but it was getting hard and the other one suggested to mix it last to avoid a lot of mixing that might cause the hardening. So I followed it and mix the honey on the later part

    I made a double recipe of this using a mix of pecans and cashews. It's very good, not as sweet as store bought Nutella, but still very good. I used walnut oil and needed only 1 tbsp of it (for a double recipe) to get a silky "nutella". I noticed some people said they used coconut oil and had to use much more. I no longer use coconut oil in nut butters because it does seem you need more of it. And, because coconut oil is solid at room temperature, the nut butter gets too hard when stored in the fridge. If you don't want to use so much oil and don't want your nut butter to get really hard in the fridge, use a liquid oil instead. Also I used pure vanilla powder instead of extract because I was afraid the extract might make it seize and I didn't want to risk ruining the beautiful texture of my nut butter. All in all, a nice recipe, but I'll probably make it a little sweeter next time.

      In the fridge, I will say many weeks! I make big batches in the blender pitcher, and even after 1 month in the fridge, it was still perfectly excellent! At room temp, I never tried it, except for an near-empty jar that still had a slight amount of the home-made nutella, and it still smelled good after many weeks! Good luck! P.S. I make mine with maple syrup instead of the powdered sugar.

  • @nastasja8462
    @nastasja8462 4 года назад +107

    Guys, you don't need to use extra oil for nutella, nuts are already very oily so when you grind them to the buttery consistency, they will release out their oil. Don't worry if it doesn't look like that immediately, that is because the natural oil is well incorporated with chopped nuts :) for a healthier versioun you can replace sugar for honey or stevia and this can be stored for about a month or two in room temp

      A spoon of oil is fine. I want to know that how much honey should be used. Also honey will make it v runny. Though honey is not white sugar yet calories.

      R V i used natural honey, before i mixed it it was very creamy, after i added honey it turned very hard because the honey is heating up when mixed idk...

    I tried it with almonds but I had to add 2 table spoons of oil and sugar additionally, to bring it to the required consistency and the taste is very good. Worth the effort and time.

      Trisha kapoor the store bought Nutella has various types of preservatives so it can be stored for long, the homemade version doesn't include many but only few those are oil and salt, as a result the homemade ones can be stored for a few weeks depending on the temperature

    Excellent! I skipped vanilla and oil, and the result is divine! (To skip the oil, you need a strong mixer that does not overheat easily, and you need to run it for a LONG time to get a smooth spreadable consistency).

    Can sugar be substituted with honey?
    How long can this be preserved?

    • @nicoleow9188

      Better not(?) Because honey is water based and the nut butter is oil based...not sure but u can try adding it at the very last

      Namaste👏 mam I think it's better to substitute with jaggery power or mishri
      But first please check if it's safe or not while using it in this ....
