LMMS is an extremely powerful DAW and deserves more recognition and tutorials. It can create anything that all other DAWs can. It should be promoted as a first software for beginners because of it's simplicity and open source
Honestly, this tutorial, where you just make a short and easy music, is better than the others that get into the nitty gritty of things and try to explain the details. I don't have any musical taste, but I've managed to make something that I am proud of easily thanks to you!
I've been using LMMS since 2020 and i still use it to this day! In my personal experience i would say that LMMS lacks a lot of features but there's always a workaround to everything. I highly recommend it to beginners because of its simplicity, however i would not recommend it to someone who samples songs and/or records vocals and instruments.
@@JesseOrSomething I feel like it'd be much easier to record in external software like audacity instead. You have all these tools like noise reduction, cutting and moving stuff without a grid, etc. LMMS simply wasn't made for that purpose, i imagine you've already run into issues with the sequencer since you can't freely move your patterns and samples however you want. Not only that, there could also be some issues with the sound drivers since lmms does not have ASIO support since it's under the gpl license.
@@JesseOrSomething Ardour is a really good tool for this IMO. I started using Ardour but switched to LMMS for making the songs themselves, but Ardour is insanely powerful for creating, recording, and editing audio such as samples. Its similar yet different to Audacity.
this is a really good tutorial. i tried other tutorials, especially for fl studio, and they were yapping about so much unnecesarry things and they extended it for no reason. here, you just add this, make a simple progression, add other intstruments, and it sounds good. i will try to follow this and maybe i will make music which i will actually be proud of. im subscribing man.
I'm glad you're posting the basics of LMMS. I came across LMMS when I started my teens as an aspiring music lover with the highest of hopes wishing for a free DAW software(I listen to producers who used FL Studio a lot. But you know,it is not free). I didn't know why,But I was not able to know what was what even with the tutorials; It all felt too fast. So I learnt it and still learn it,the hard way;Experimenting myself and getting to know stuff. I was once so dumb, I was like these vst plugins they use...Where do they even get them?I don't have them in my default(Later found out they can be downloaded from the net as dll and exe files(Happened when I was 13 hahaXD)). But I still get a huge confusion of how to classify music into genres and what are their requirements along with "What pattern shall I draw here to make it sound good?"XD. Yes,I am struggling. Yes,It's been years and thank you for this tutorial from the bottom of my heart!:). I hope future beginners with this tutorial can find it easy to use it better:). It has a lot of potential in it and I personally see this as the silver lining in my life:). Happy producing guys!^_^
Thank you for this tutorial, I really love LMMS (I made all my songs on it) It's fast, powerfull and when used right it can compete against other DAWS Keep up the great work !
Hey bud, huge thanks for the awesome tutorial! Your content is really helping me step up my game with LMMS. By the way, I'm loving the theme you've got going on - it's dope! Mind sharing which theme it is? Keep up the fantastic work!
@@anthonystunemusic For a beginner the stability of the nighly's are great, but once you start composing a few more things you start getting crashes. I know this because I tried it last week and I'm a beginner, once I started using pads and VSTs and VST3s it started crashing
Got into LMMS about a month ago and have seen several of your Videos, Nice stuff! Also what kind of Theme are your using for LMMS it looks more similar to FL studio now
can someone help? you know that part that you click open and it shows the piano? I tried to move it to my second monitor and it disappeared and now it does not show up at all when I double click on the space that's shown here for the keyboard keys to open. Can someone help with this? I'm a super noob and lost :(

Just wondering if LMMS will post a stable 1.3 version?
I’m waiting for that too
Nightly's are quite stable at least, try them

Welcome back again, my loyal subscriber!!!
Where are so many samples from? My linux version is so poor....
Get your eyes checked then, because he used only the assets available with LMMS by default
What theme are you using
LMMS es un Daw muy bueno y facil de usar, pero mejor usa la version nocturna que es mas estable y tiene mas funciones nuevas.
Good, thanks
Lmms producer here👋
Let’s goooo
Yeah
Yeah!!!
THATS SO SIMPLE
LMMS is way better than fl studio, fl studio supports vst3 and can record audio, lmms does everything else better
=O
