(Since you asked us to say if we prefer shorts or long videos) - I definitely prefer the longer formatted videos because I like the detailed medical and scientific explanation provide us. It's nice to truly understand why to use a product and why not to use another product (depending on skin type/climate).
I am 68 years old and, I just started paying serious attention to my skin about 7 years ago. However, when I was 27 I went to a dermatologist who helped me with my breakouts and recommended using Cetaphil to wash and Lubriderm cream for my moisturizer. I used that for the next 40 years. Then I began looking at Vitamin C and retinol for my skin. I am so proud of my skin, and I receive compliments from strangers ALL the time. I love studying about skincare, and I am so thankful to the dermatologist who steered me in the right direction when I was young. It is worth every minute and every penny. I like the longer in depth videos, but I will watch you whatever forum you use. Thanks again for your help and advice. One more thing. I use what is leftover on my face for my hands and lower arms. I have zero age spots on my hands and light ones on my arms. Listen to the Dr. she is so right!

With the niacinamide part, yes there are people who overdo it and get products that it in every single step but also it's hard when a skincare ingredient goes viral and is incorporated into every single toner, essence moisturizer etc.
For those of you asking about “Doctors that deal with hair issues,” a Dermatologist is a highly trained expert in hair, skin and nails. My husband’s a double-degreed M.D. Between his undergrad, 8 years of medical school, his residency, fellowships, etc., he studied for 19 years in university. Don’t listen to television commercials or follow the latest fads; listen to Doctors who are BOARD CERTIFIED in their specialty! Dr. Idriss knows what she’s talking about. My career was in law, but I retired at the age of 36 as I graduated summa cum laude from Harvard at a VERY young age. If you required legal advice, you wouldn’t ask the person who does your nails! Always listen to someone who’s qualified with the proper credentials.
I m sorry, but nr 10 i can never follow, because in this country i m living dermatologists are very very expensive AND they are quite incompetents! So,i prefer since teenage years to educate myself. Besides, you taught me more than a doctor here could ever! Thank you!
When I got into skincare, I did everything on my face and neck. But retinol only on my face. Now my face is great, but my neck skin noticeably reduced its firmness. Now I put retinal on my face, neck, and chest. I am interested in your Pillowtalk, but where can people outside of US buy it.
I’d love to see something on your thoughts on Dr Barbara Sturm products. As someone who purchases them, I’d like to know if you think they’re worth it. Also, products for skin over 50. Thanks
Love your videos! But can you please summarize them a bit.. there is too much redundancy and they are quite long and time is precious. Thanks a million for educating the world on skin care!
Definitely prefer the longer videos. I come to RUclips to watch a 15-30 min videos. If I want shorts I’ll go to Instagram. That’s just me though. I wouldn’t be mad if you included shorts though. They can earn a lot of revenue and get decent exposure because everyone’s going to watch a 20 second video vs a 20 minute video. So I get it. 2023 should be about YOU as Shereene and do what makes your heart happy. I’m so inspired by you and I can’t wait to get my hands on more of the hyper serum!
My opinion is you keep doing exactly how you want. I have never been able to enjoy and listen to any others like you! You have made each day I've listened to you laugh and finished the day learning something new!
Almost 5am on New Year’s Day after working NYE dinner, and I’m proud of washing my face before finally getting to sleep 😴. Happy New Year and thank you for all that you do! And I prefer long format because I’m a nerd 🤓 and the in-depth analysis. I’d even be interested in the history of skincare, debunked myths, etc.
She really helped me ❤️ I've done Glycolic, Retin a. Nothing truly erased my lipline bumps until watching her cleanse routine. They are gone after many doomed years. Thank you! For those that feel doomed with them. I used dermasil in the blue tube. Let it sit. That's magic ✨
Such great advice, which I've passed every rule. At 63, I've learned so much and have been incorporating most, if not all, of your recommendations. I'm grateful for the dermatologist who I saw in my 20s with acne who put me on Retin-A, and told me to never stop using it (of course I stopped when pregnant and nursing). It's been a total game changer. And as a child of the 70s, I'd bake outside with baby oil for ours. I gave up sun worshipping in my 20s. It's sunscreen 365 days a year. Wishing you a very Happy and Healthy New Year. ❤❤
I don’t subscribe to many channels but I really like your down-to-earth approach. It’s the French interspersed in several videos I have watched so far that make me smile and un, deux, trois..Subscribe 😊
I absolutely agree with everything you said but I’ve run into issues with the last (seeing a local deem). I was just at my derm’s office on Friday. She was in the room for MAYBE 5 minutes, and while I was able to ask my questions, I felt very rushed and like I was taking up her time. She was literally walking out the door while I was asking my THIRD and last question. And, her examination was very surface and felt like she just didn’t care. I remember thinking “I can’t believe I’m gonna pay for this and I haven’t learned anything I didn’t already know from Dr. Idriss or other derms I follow on YT for free.” From those I’ve talked to, I think a lot of people have this experience with doctors now, which makes it tough to justify paying the money (not to mention taking the time off of work) to go to those appointments.
Exactly!! Why pay ton of money and waste time to go see a doctor for literally few minutes when you can get free advice from a doctor on RUclips from the comfort of your home for free.
Hello! Thank you for all the helpful skincare information! I’m a second year medical student and love your thorough science explications. I would love if you could do a video sometime on eyelash / eyebrow hair growth. I know this extends outside of the realm of skincare a bit but I’d really appreciate it!
Definitely longer version for me. I prefer long videos. I remember this saying, maybe it's known, once I read it in a mag, some derm said that: your skin is not a floor to scrub it. General rule for me is: treat your skin kindly, it's not a floor.
I prefer longer format videos tbh! I think short formats are great for learning on the go, but you can't dive too deep into explanations, examples, etc.
Doc can you cover the difference of natural sunscreens- non chemical - and explain the news that if sunscreen does not have zinc in the ingredients, it does not protect
Happy New Year! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge in such a fun way! I'm so thankful that I finally went to a dermatologist to find out what I thought was acne was actually hidradenitis suppurativa. It made things so much easier to treat when the Dr. can share their expertice!
I like both long and short videos, depending on the topic. Short worked great for this one. All the tips were great! The last one is a bit tricky. You're a dermatologist who cares about skin care. Many don't and throw RXs out willy nilly and are not open to questions about side effects and want a patient out of the office in 10 minutes. Unless it's a passionate derm like you, I've heard of many getting the opposite of help from their derm
I like the longer formatted videos, can you please cover hypopigmentation and how to treat it. Education on rosacea and sensitive skin. Thanks for your great MD content.
I’m so happy that I found your page. I’m 53 years young and, sadly say that I didn’t take care of myself early on but I’m trying to get it done now. I hope that it is not too late to start. BUT, while watching your videos I feel like I need to many of the products that you talk about but I don’t want to use too many products. I love to be outside, I don’t drink a lot of water like I should, I do have old scars from picking when I was younger, and I have dry skin. I was given the following products to use in the past but they don’t seem to be working much (AM-cleanser which I use the neutrogenia, buffet + copper peptides 1%, hyaluronic acid which I stopped after seeing your video, alpha Arbutin 2% + HA, caffeine + solution EGCG, moisturizing cream again I use the neutrogenia, sunscreen. PM tues/fri - cleanser, hyaluronic acid, alpha arbutin, caffeine solution, rose hip seed oil - wed/sat - cleanser hyaluronic acid, retinol .5% in squalane, rose hip seed oil - mon/thurs/sun - cleanser hyaluronic acid, alpha arbutin, caffeine solution, resveratrol 3% + ferulic acid 3%, vitamin c. I’ve tried a derm but I don’t believe Kaiser has good deems unless you have an issue such as acne. Please help, I feel like I may be using too many products.
Topic idea: how to layer chemical exfoliants with retinol. (Short or long form will work) Right now I do either retinol or glycolic acid but not both on the same night. I want to ease into using retinol every day but I'm not sure how to layer that with the glycolic acid a few times a week. Have a fantastic new year all! Cheers! 😊
Thanks! I finally went to a dermatologist this year to remove some facial skin tags (they made me feel really old which is crazy becaue i have a toddler, lol), and it was a great first step!
This is great information, I graduated at beauty college over 20 years ago so I use your RUclips channel for continual professional development so I can make sure I recommend the correct products as cost effectively as possible. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with me.❤
Please, could you discuss different treatments, products, procedures for the eye area? Puffiness, dark circles etc., especially if you’re getting enough sleep, eating right, and exercising. Muchas gracias!!! Love you!
Long format please! Also move TikTok shorts to RUclips. Please talk about the importance of iron oxides and what type of mineral sunscreens needed when you are dealing with age and sunspots. Confused about whether zinc oxide is enough if it doesn’t have tint.

Agreed! Shorts don’t give us as much info, they just entertain. Long form videos are way more informative and useful. Thanks for the awesome content!
My preferred format is long form videos that later get made into shorts

Great video as usual. Prefer these over shorts but it's you so I like both. 👍
With the niacinamide part, yes there are people who overdo it and get products that it in every single step but also it's hard when a skincare ingredient goes viral and is incorporated into every single toner, essence moisturizer etc.
Omg!!!! I pick my face! LOL...Love your wittiness, your hilarious, and love your video's!

Please don't reduce the number of long-form videos - some of us are not on Instagram or TikTok.🥲
Long form (10 to 15 mins)
Products to use/avoid while breastfeeding
I m sorry, but nr 10 i can never follow, because in this country i m living dermatologists are very very expensive AND they are quite incompetents! So,i prefer since teenage years to educate myself.

And this is one of the reason i m in med school! 2 year now.
The best thing for picking is hydrocoloid patches.
You do you Seyma Subasindan galiba😄 anyhow thank you for life saving information!!!
longer formats please! watching these while i clean, work, or on the car ride

Longer! I could listen all day long!
I’d love to see something on your thoughts on Dr Barbara Sturm products. As someone who purchases them, I’d like to know if you think they’re worth it. Also, products for skin over 50. Thanks
Stopped stripping the skin barrier a while ago, when switched from clarisonic brush to silicone foreo luna....what a difference!
Love your videos! But can you please summarize them a bit.. there is too much redundancy and they are quite long and time is precious. Thanks a million for educating the world on skin care!
Longer format please. Love your content and really look forward to your Saturday posts.
off-topic but what eyeshadow is she wearing? it’s mesmerising 😻

Hands down my favorite person online is Dr Shireen idriss.
Dr. What are you wearing…the sweater/dress… love love love it… please share what brand top/sweater are you wearing
I personally love and prefer the longer-format content!
I When I "double dip" (food-wise that is..) I break the chip in half first! Thanks again for all your good advice!

Please make a video on oil cleanse, like a first step of double cleanse 😙🫶🏼
I'm working from home in front of 2 computer screens 40+ hours a week. Can you review if blue light will cause aging and best products to use.
Such great advice, which I've passed every rule. At 63, I've learned so much and have been incorporating most, if not all, of your recommendations. «Bless your heart” … 😂😂😂😂 I might have a British accent (when not speaking Norwegian), but .. I LOL’ed!
Ive been wanting an eyeliner tutorial from you for years now
Can you please do a video on what would be an ideal am & pm skincare routine for an oily skin type? I’d love to hear your advice on that.
I don’t subscribe to many channels but I really like your down-to-earth approach. It’s the French interspersed in several videos I have watched so far that make me smile and un, deux, trois..Subscribe 😊
Please make a full detailed video for rosacea patients what to use what not to use
Happy New Year! I personnally prefer the longer format. I can't get into tik tok. 30 min long vids for the win lol
I absolutely agree with everything you said but I’ve run into issues with the last (seeing a local deem). I was just at my derm’s office on Friday. HNY Doc. You've had a wild ride in 22. Wishing you continued success in 2023 because you deserve it with all that hard work. Proud of you xx
Happy New Year from Denmark. Love your content especially the long videos on Saturday❤️
Oh god, I was in such a bad mood. And then this notification came up. Yayyyyy. ✨
I prefer the longer format videos. Thanks for the upload. Good tips here!

I'm a little confused on what can be combined with copper peptides. Love being a "nerd". 😊
Happy New Year!! 🎉
Definitely longer format.
That last point really hits close to home. It was only when I saw a derm that I saw long-term, sustainable results. ❤️
I prefer the long form content! Thanks for all the info!

My guess for the line with vitamin c in every product is Sunday Riley
I love the longer RUclips videos! I am not on TikTok but I also just prefer the learning! ❤ love your channel!
I prefer longer format videos tbh! I think short formats are great for learning on the go, but you can't dive too deep into explanations, examples, etc.
Happy New Years! Today is my son and I birthday we always spend this day together... love you and your channel
I'm here! Wouldn't miss class. Happy New Year 🎊
Happy New Year! I love your in-depth long-form videos

Already new year in Japan. Happy new year, Dr Idriss and everyone! Love your videos and sense of humour!

I need to know where your colorful bracelets are from! LOVE them. And the videos of course, they were my favourite weekly ritual
J'adore vous entendre parler français, même si ce n'est que pour compter ou dire bonjour! 🤗 Bonne année 2023! ❤️🙌
Dr. Idriss, could you please make a video about how to get rid/improve mid-cheek lines? They are starting to really affect my confidence :( (i'm 27)
I like the longer formatted videos, can you please cover hypopigmentation and how to treat it.
Education on rosacea and sensitive skin.
Thanks for your great MD content.
Dear Dr could you do a video on electrolysis hair removal and it’s scarring , thank you ❤
Would be great to see you review or give advice for services such as Skin+me, Renude, and others.
Happy 2023.
I saw a dermatologist in October and got a tretinoin prescription and some basic skin care/anti-aging tips. I'm happy I went.
Would LOVE to hear skincare routines when using prescription topicals (Winlevi and tazorac) 🙏🏽💕

Right now I do either retinol or glycolic acid but not both on the same night. I want to ease into using retinol every day but I'm not sure how to layer that with the glycolic acid a few times a week.
Have a fantastic new year all! Cheers! 😊
Can you do a Vedio on how to take care of skin and best things to apply post micro needling session.
YES! Thank you for saying all that needed to be said - woot!
You’re the best! 🥰
Xo 🇨🇦

Happy New Year to you too!🎉
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with me.❤
Keep doing what you are doing. I learn so much and you debunk the crazy trends!
I hope you will vlog everything about isotretinoin and isotretinoin's user
Please, could you discuss different treatments, products, procedures for the eye area? Puffiness, dark circles etc., especially if you’re getting enough sleep, eating right, and exercising. Muchas gracias!!! Love you!
so happy to see a video this morning!!! happy new year dr idriss!!! so thankful for your videos, i love a long format!
OMG you are pure gold! I would really like to be your patient 😊
Happy New Year 🎉
Love the longer videos. I truly respect and follow your council.
