I grew up with horses and donkeys and as a kid I was afraid of horses but never from donkeys. They are incredibly friendly if you treat them good.

Donkeys are wonderful riding mounts. I ride a Standard Sorrel and have had 8 beautiful years with him.
I wish people would realize that donks are great for riding and driving. When buying equines, horses aren't the only choice!

Donkeys are very smart animals and also have a heightened danger sense. People simply mistake their cautious behavior as being stubborn.
A donkey isn't stubborn; it merely thinks its human handler is being an idiot for trying to put them into random situations without assessing any potential danger first.

Where is this big demand for the mules, and for what purpose are the mules wanted? I ask because I have heard that many donkeys/mules are used in China, a Communist country, where the donkeys are abused to such an extent that they only live a fraction of their normal life span. I am a volunteer at a donkey sanctuary in Canada.

@@fredhorsefeathers3225 Hello, Fred, Amazing name you have chosen. Wonderful, really. I watch these videos and others, yet I have never owned a horse, a donkey, or a mule. I spent my youth, my teens, and my adulthood longing for them. I love them all. Actually, I had a rocking horse named Trigger, which I reportedly rode by the hour, a pass-time I recall only by stories told me! My first choice would be a donkey, my second, a mule, and third - a horse, my character, personality, and physical strength being what it is. I’ve told people the same for years. People around us breed the most beautiful mules you can imagine. Their horses are beautiful. I’ve never seen one mistreated, never one. I am so grateful to the people who post their experiences with equine of every kind. There are so many who love, and instruct, and help others to do the same. The ugly side shows itself also, which I know is true. I am grateful to those who rescue, love, instruct, and help others to do the same. I’ve enjoyed speaking with you. I wish you well and safe and free.
