I'm guessing they ordered everything in from local restaurants which could've been good or bad, most of those dishes probably didn't get the justice they deserved.
I hereby invite Will to Austrian to personally cook a proper Schnitzel for him. What they got was fried pork in cheap oil. It should be veal battered with egg, flour and then breadcrumbs. Gently fried in claryfied butter, with potatoes as a sidedish and cranberry jam.
Surely this says more about the skill of the chef(s) responsible (or their lack thereof) to properly reproduce these national dishes so that they both look and taste as they should than it does about the dishes themselves. You might still love/hate the dishes even when done properly of course, but some of the dishes presented here clearly weren't even close to how they were supposed to be, so the ranking really belongs to the chef(s). Regardless of that then I look forward to seeing the next 27 or so episodes of this series ... assuming that the title isn't as misleading as some of the dishes were ...
