I currently own a FeelFree Moken 10 when I eventually upgrade Jackson is the next yak I upgrade to and greetings from Smith County TN.
Very cool! You’re not far from where they are made!
@roadtripangler Yes, sir, Sparta is right down the road from me.
Awesome review. I feel like I’ve become a little biased over the years with the Cosa line up. I’ve been more than impressed with my FD. From catching 25 pound + king salmon in narrow creeks to hitting the open water of Lake Michigan trolling for salmon. What a great platform!!!! If you find yourself on the south side of Lake Michigan look me up. It’s a great testament how capable these boats are and chance to catch a monster!!! Keep up the great content!!!
Thanks so much for checking it out and glad to hear you are digging your FD! I will for sure! I would have no idea where to start up there lol.
Great review on a great looking yak! I can’t wait to try one out myself!
Thanks for watching it! I don't think you would regret checking it out!
Awesome review. Love the look of the new design!
Thanks! It really turned out great!
If it weighed less and was cheaper, I'd definitely consider it. Went with the Bite Angler for trout and smallmouth bass fishing in the Ozarks of Missouri. Cheers
The Bite is a great boat for sure! I agree on wishing it weighed less and was cheaper, but the more I spend time with it the more I like it!
Great overview. Do you think the rod storage system could accommodate an 8-9ft fly rod?
Hey and thanks for watching! Yes it can! You simply move the rod rack behind the seat and let the reels hangout in the tank well. Chris Funk does a great job showing it off in this video… ruclips.net/video/xmM3Il5Kc9Q/видео.html
This just confirms my preorder of this boat in the blue as shown. i've got a big rig but many times dont need the maxed capacity of it. I'm curious what length paddle you liked for it. I'm 6'2 with a 260-275cm paddle on order. Wondering if this should be good or if I need to go slightly shorter?
Thanks for watching!! So I am 6' tall and tend to have a high angle paddle stroke, meaning I put the blade in really close to the side of the kayak. I find a 250 - 255 works for me in the high position. If you have a more relaxed paddle stroke you should be perfect with the 260 - 275.
good one, Jameson
Thank you!!
6' 1" 298 pounds... Add this to the list for my 1st kayak? What other Jackson's to add to the list for big guys?
I think this is one of our best options, especially if you are fishing moving water at all. I am also a huge fan of the take two as a solo boat and will be fishing out of it a lot this season!
Hey dude! Would you happen to have a link to the eyelets you used for running that anchor line through your boat after drilling it out?
Hey! Sorry for the delayed response. Here is the link! jacksonkayak.com/coosa-x-anchor-tube/
How does it handle waves on a lake?
It will handle them great. Being designed for whitewater wave trains it will bounce over them and keep you pretty dry while doing so.
Do you think the prior Coosa HD model is a preferable (more versatile) choice for someone who is not exclusively fishing rivers but also lakes and inshore saltwater flats where there is more paddling & straighter tracking needed?
Hey! That is a hard one. There are so many things I love about both. And the cool thing about the X is if you trim the seat forward it tracks well and trim it back it turns easier. I have several team members that say it is better than the HD in every way, but I think the HD might track a little better. I would say, if you can, go to a dealer and try and demo one and play with the trim to see what you think.
@@roadtripangler Thanks. I have not tested an X but it is shorter, wider, and 20 pounds heavier, so I can't imagine how it could it paddle as well in flat water. Is the rocker difference in the X vs the HD something that can be measured like on a canoe?
Will this fit the orion 45qt cooler? Thanks
Let me check for you! I think the 35 does but not sure on 45.
Thanks appreciate it do a lot of camping out of my hd wish it helped a bigger cooler than the 25 new x will be awsome
Ok. I have checked and the 45 will fit, but only oriented a certain way. Basically long ways front to back.
Thanks so much!!
Have you ever been on The Locust Fork river in Blount County Alabama?
I have not, but would love to check it out sometime!
@@roadtripangler It’s a whitewater destination, but not many fishers due to all the rapids.
a paid company man gonna give us the real.... BS, these are NOT reviews they are just commercials rely on a customer over the employees EVERYTIME
I am sorry you feel that way, but I personally had a ton of input on this boat and am proud of it. Don't take my word for it though...get out and try the boat. Thanks for watching either way and tight lines.
