Hearing this sounds bring tears to my eyes. Having asthma is like drowning without water, you start coughing as a resort to breathe, you feel so weak and sometimes you can't even manage to walk or stand, your chest feel tight like someone is punching it over and over again.

All of those who experience this or with loved ones who do for whatever the reason God speed and prayers to you. My very active, very healthy, very young, daughter suffered hypoxemic respiratory failure last year and it was one of the most heart breaking and terrifying experience I have endured as a parent. Thankfully, we were vigilant and took swift action as did the ER staff and ambulance staff during transfer to an out-of-state facility. I am forever thankful my wild child has tremendously improved but not without trial and error with medication and many pulmonologist visits which have brought us to the diagnosis of asthma. Time to time I find myself down the rabbit hole with these videos to stay sharp to wheezing and other identifying factors of an oncoming attack etc.

I never had asthma before I moved into this apartment above a laundry room. It started with coughing from what I assumed was allergies, and now I’m wheezing. I soon realized that I’m reacting to the toxic fabric softeners and cheap laundry detergent that the people in my building use, and this building is so poorly ventilated that I’m breathing in these toxic fumes from the floorboards as they waft up into my bedroom. The only other times I’ve felt like this was growing up in the Central Valley and having terrible seasonal allergies, and then when we had wild fires all around us here in the Bay Area and we had to wear masks any time we left the house (pre-Covid.) I’m trying to move out of this apartment as quickly as possible, but housing prices are insane here in San Francisco. I’m super upset that I’m now wheezing. My wheezing even jars me back awake as I start to fall asleep.

The x ray showed that l had an increased lung size while the igE test was 600 level (normal range is 100) so l was diagnosed with severe bronchial asthma ... l feel better now

I went to the ER today because I have been sick since last week Wed. Symptoms include; extreme fatigue, coughing, sore throat, trouble breathing, sinus issues, sleep deprivation, I was physically sick. And I’m the ER they ran bloodwork on me. Covid negative, flu negative, cold negative. They said that my asthma was making me I’ll, or that the illness was making my asthma worse. I have some viral lung infection of some sort, or my asthma is causing me to have a compromised immune system. Either way my sickness has gotten better after inhalants. I feel why brought me to become sick was stress. It’s been a stressful year all around. My car got stolen last week. And I’ve dealt with the lost of people close to me in a short time. I’ve been stressed. My stress made me sick, to where I forgot to do the only thing keeping humans alive. Breathing.

Recently went to the ED for difficulty breathing, I have PMH of asthma and anaphylaxis 2x. In the ED I was short of breath and had hives but no wheezing upon auscultation, so the Drs assumed I was having an anxiety attack and let me sit for an hr in distress, gave me Ativan, and then discharged me. Mind you, I was the most cooperative, chill, respectful patient anyone could ask for. I'm an EMT for 6 yrs, going to be a paramedic in Jan, so I understand the BS healthcare providers deal with on a daily basis (over half the patients in the ED don't actually need to be there) but this time, being a young female with an antidepressant rx, I unfortunately got generalized into that category. I didn't protest the discharge at all but accepted it with thanks, but while walking out I fainted. An RN accused me of doing it on purpose out of wanting to stay and kept telling me to get up even though I told her I couldn't, until they measured my BP to be 70/40 and then immediately readmitted me and started the anaphylaxis treatment algorithm.
If only I had bee wheezing when I first arrived.

I've always had asthma, even as a child, and it suddenly got better ( as in i didn't feel like i was drowning when it was below 10 degrees outside ). Then i got covid, and its back worse than ever. I full on had an asthma attack in class cause the window was open and the air happened to be a little colder. Of course, i hadn't carried my asthma pump as i had not needed it outside of when i had colds. Now it's back to full on suffocating when the air gets even the slightest cold, pollen and dust and once again my worst enemies. Winter has yet to come and i can only hope that i don't catch a cold cause i know it will hurt like hell if i do.

I also have to keep my home extra clean from dust because that really starts my asthma. Sometimes I don’t know I have it until I take that puff and suddenly breathe better. Prayers to everyone who has it 😢

I waked up my big sis and i started to tear up. I thought "Oh no... i guess this is the end of my life... im gonna die soon" and so i was bringed to the emergency room. And after that. We go back to our house. And at idk what time i cant breath again and at the emergency room. I vomited. And after we go home. Well... you guessed it. I cant breath AGAIN and at the car (we are on our way to the hospital) i passed out.

Breathe in though nose with lips pressed together to open lungs by reflex automatically and naturally or press finger on thumb to use mudra effect.
Sleep with mouth shut, possibly with tape.
      Google for "sleep tape".
Asthma-paradox: more medication. more asthma Medication weakens breathing muscles but.doctors say it is not addictive.

I have severe asthma too as well as allergies and it has caused me the same problems. It’s the hardest when I eat because it takes me hours to finish a meal so I can breathe properly. I also no longer breathe out of my nose anymore which can cause jaw problems in the future. I wish it could be cured since my inhaler doesn’t work properly.

Please note that sitting down and/or wearing a mash can improve symptoms short term in asthma attack/flare (from personal experience). I've gone in wheezing but had to sit while masked which reduced my symptoms. But if I'd been standing while waiting my lungs would have sounded much different. (this happens a lot during forest fire season. I've spent 4 months wearing a mask due to my asthma)
