Love it. I just cancelled my S5II, and ordered the S5IIx. The only reason is because of the webcam connection. I actually like the look of the S5 with the colors and while lettering better, but I have to admit, there’s a certain pride in having the blacked out look, only noticed by those in the know. My experience with external SSD recording? I had that on my Blackmagic Pocket 4K, and I’m happy to go back to SD cards to keep the rig compact and tidy. I never once edited off the SSD, but maybe I was missing out on a great workflow? Who knows. Time will also tell if I go back to recording in ProRes or Blackmagic RAW. B-raw is amazing, but it’s still another step in the process I’m looking forward to leaving behind.
Honestly, it's worth it. As you said, those that know will know. I did notice a big colour difference when connecting to the PC for twitch. I was almost more red then the other. But I'll have to play around with the colours to get that sweet spot. Recording to SSD makes my life easy and the snappy auto focus now is so good.
Got mine today and the box was unsealed as was the camera packaging. Was yours like that? Everything looks and works fine, but for $2200 I would expect much better packaging
It was packaged decent but wouldn't say amazing. The light foam they wrap around the body and hold it into place with the plastic holders. Sure wasn't stuffed full of bubble wrap though.
lol, Looks like me testing my flip screen, bad experience with my Sony screens haha. the screen seems more solid although there is a little play of movement when you close the screen on the case and the screen towards us. But this is normal.

Just got mine last week, it is fantastic!
It literally just ticks all the boxes for me.

Compared to my S5, I'd say they did a good job with the hinges. But that could be just because it's new.
Lumix s5iix is a beast!!!!!!!!
It's the camera we have all wanted for some time.
If they add the 4k 120fps will complete the camera
I totally agree, who knows what updates we will get. Never know.
