Thank you for making these videos. I'm slightly autistic with problems in executive functioning and have fallen into a bit of a slump (mental health problems and chronic nerve pain). Trying to end the pity party and getting back in the saddle now though, your videos have definitely helped.
Sorry to hear about the slump, my friend: glad to hear the videos are helping. Shout if you have any questions.
Me too! (Except chronic nerve pain). I wish you and me wellness. And also yeah some youtube videos have also helped me and made me realize good points, but also sometimes I fall into spending too much time watching self-improvement videos.
Thanks for sharing this video. This one hit hard in a moment in which I feel like not having enough time to care about my physical and mental training, but with more than 4 hours a day of screen time
Really good outline of how to approach this issue
Add in ADHD and the compulsive checking of apps over doing something fulfilling in a meaningful way becomes very destructive, for me atleast. Yes, I have a list of projects that I want to do. But the amount of energy it takes to prioritize, organise and schedule them is infinitely larger than that of mindless entertainment (especially when energy is a very sparse resource to divvy up to begin with).
It must be even tougher - all the best with your projects.
Me to a tee
This is GOOOOOD information!!!!!! I gotta hit on this topic as well!!!! Good stuff good stuff! 🙌🏽❤️🔥🙌🏽
Thank you, my friend!
Found this Video while browsing. Go figure 😀
Did it work?
I needed this
Hope it's helped
Amazing video Joel!
Thank you!
commenting to boost. great message
Appreciate it, thank you!
Found this video while browsing (LOL). Just kidding, I'm subbed ;-)
Another gem as usual! Thanks for sharing with us.
I know i go back to reinstalling distracting apps,so i am think about using a so called dumb phone, but it needs a couple of useful features, like map and hotspot
@@lonewanderer_n7 currently I'm testing Nokia 800 tough, it has hotspot, map RUclips and they're all very hard to use thanks to not having a touchscreen, also data transfer drains battery way too fast.
Yes, makes sense.
🔥
Thanks Jon!
He has just done a podcast with Andrew huberman on the requirements for deep work, limiting social media apps, the fact that tick tock was entirely designed for dwell time and now others are copying it
He's got a new book out, it's a good read
@@JoelSnape1 it's on my list after ultra learning by young which he recommended
How much time you have let your beard grow to reach this level?
I love the tips on the video, thanks for the knowledge.
Ha, I've had the beard a while but it takes about five months to hit full strength from zero. Glad you liked the video!
Cal Newport is the best.
I'm enjoying his Slow Productivity so far.
I will never EVER browse.
I use RUclips basically that's it, no other socials apart from the odd snap
NICE (YT has the most value IMO)
The study has a small sample size, and I have low iq also dyslexia ,so I didn’t bother to read it through
3:45 starts actual video here
I'm only halfway through the video, but so far its a summary of stolen focus with no original ideas
Haven't read it - I credit books where I talk about their ideas (like Digital Minimalism in the second half of the video)
