When it comes to Asian representation in film, you can't go any further back than this guy.
Sessue Hayakawa is a Japanese Actor who starred in Hollywood films in the 1910s all the way to the 60s. His most notable roles are in the later years of his life; including The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957) and Swiss Family Robinson (1960). However, back in the beginning of his career, he was actually one of the highest paid stars of his time. But... he wasn't even American! He wasn't even white! How did this happen?

I just learned about Sessue Hayakawa about a month ago and was so impressed with his story. I learned even more about him from your video, thank you.

Very different from your usual YTP genius, however, kept me engaged and interested. You have a great penchant for storytelling - although there is obviously some room for improvement. Bravo.

Sessue's life seems a microcosm of the history of the first half of the 20th century.
A small aside: *Bridge on the River Kwai* was filmed in my parents' native Sri Lanka
