Unfortunately they're the worst sounding flat wounds out there. They sound like they were made for people who were afraid to play anything other than rounds.
The problem here is that LaBella's take ages to break in. Coincidentally, both D'addario and La Bella's sound like rounds when they're brand new. The La Bella sound really only shows up after several months of consistent playing.
I bought it a couple of years ago from a good friend. It's a 2004, initially it was fretted, you can find a couple of videos with it on my channel before I had it defretted by a luthier. I loved the way it sounded as a fretted but I needed a fretless! So, when a couple of months ago I found a good deal on another Streamer LX 6 fretted I jumped on the occasion :)
Flats sound dead to me. But I'm a HiBeams user with my E.Q. reverse-scooped of what people usually do(low-mids/mids/high-mids all jacked way up) playing on my Delaney J/MM bridge pickup with no neck pickup on at all.
it's all a matter of personal preferences, of course. I usually keep the flatwounds on this bass, because I dig the tone, but for my last demo (Kasleder Freaky Stone) I used roundwounds because I needed more zing.
that lake placid blue p bass is probably the most gorgeous bass I have ever seen.
Beautiful
my favorite flats at the moment are Daddario chromes. they feel soo smooth.

Just buy rounds then turn the trebble down for flat sound😊
