Good grief! I am 75 and I had several bathing caps with flowers over the years....how I wish i still had them...but all the pools we swam in were saturated with chlorine so I am sure they disintegrated very soon after use. I also loved the green dress coverup....I had a mini dress just like that in about 1967. I find your episodes are so great because of your research and history...and I have always loved clothes and glamour. I used to dress up in my mother's former long gowns....😅vamping.
I love your videos! I want to brag.. just found a Charles and Patricia Lester perfect condition hand-pleated silk, stunning haute couture gown at a thrift shop. Its like winning the lottery!

LOL back in the 1980's, I was in the Miss America Pageant system, YES! It was strongly suggested that a CATALINA Swimsuit be purchased for competition. Mine was vibrant turquoise blue, I had my required Pumps (5 inch heels) dyed to match. FYI I achieved my MFA without any student loans thanks to Miss America.
Hey Doris! Would love to hear your expert opinion on THE Marilyn dress being squeezed on Kim K for the Met gala & the before/after images of the damage done to it. Ripley’s have now denied any damage was done
For that event, the dress was insured against damage for 6 million dollars. Who took the after pix? Ripleys was there for the fittings, and approved the fit. The dress was open in the back which is why she wore the fur the entire time. The original dress was worn for the staircase shots only and she changed into a copy for the rest of the evening. I’m not a Kardashian fan, but if Ripleys says there was no damage, we might consider that maybe they’re being truthful.

Hi Doris! The best California beach vibes were from the 50s through 80's. I still get really excited when I see a vintage surf or palm tree prints on clothing. I love vintage Ocean Pacific jersey or t-shirts. Hey Doris, you sure are looking very pretty. I love that LA Frock Star bracelet! That's the same bracelet in the 4 ft. x 5 ft. portrait painting that I painted of you! I enjoyed this video! Always much love to you and your staff! ❤️💟💙

my mother brought her wool bathing suit over with her from England and when I started needing swimwear in the 60's I used a couple of her suits....the problem with the wool was that it retained the water so when you came out of the lake it would drag down a bit with the weight of the water....fun times...LOL

made the mistake once of wearing my cotton crochet bikini in the water, it was very awkward trying not to have the full ensemble sag off of me once it soaked up a nice amount of water and got quite heavy

She said, "It has a hole in the knee!"
I have to laugh at myself I love the bombshell vibe for swimsuits but it is so far from my bodytype. But i try to incorporate it using mix n match pieces that hopefully fit my frame and with a .ore modern aesthetic.

I love the teal, and purple three piece. I've never found a swimsuit that looks good on me, but I have the figure of a baked potato, so there's that.
