Legend is such a gentleman. If an Opp does not respond anymore Legend never say "I am getting roped" or such a thing. He always says the Opp has disconnected. What is really legendary in LegendVD is his sportsmanship (apart from his insane skills). That's one of the reason why I think Legend would be an optimal choice for a Magic Tournament online commentator.
@@nicolaikrampitz5339 Thanks, and Wizard should consider this. I remember that Legend has already done this and did a commentator job on Magic. If I remember right there is a vid somewhere.
Spoiler, he's just absolutely amazing at recording his voice afterwards sounding like it's "live" xD (this is a joke, but mancit would be impressive! Master of timing)
Did you see when he played BBD? Absolutely amazing editing and they were both calling exactly what the other had. Fantastic to watch two top-class players in action!
He just need to play enough to know what are the meta cards... but yes, on top of that he is good at anticipating the opponent. Fun fact: in mtg and in life, hope for the best but prepare for the worst.
Legend, I think it would be great if you made a video dedicated to your deckbuilding thought process and means of categorization. Most often I find myself struggling to balance out how prevalent each theme of my deck should be, especially in comparison to the win condition. Though I'm sure there are many things that everyone could learn from such a breakdown. All the best, going on 5 years of viewing and keeping it up :D
I've posted a few videos that include a full deck build which is close to what you're looking for: www.youtube.com/@LegenVD/search?query=%22deck%20building%20%26%20gameplay%22 The Siona video also included some of the math tools I use. Legend, gotta say, I love your videos man. Been playing magic back since Mirrodin Besieged, and only happened across your channel about a year ago. You're calm and analytical analysis over every play, explaining your thoughts and how you read the board, shows both experience, love of the game, and your quick learning from your mistakes, rather than getting mad at something. It's refreshing, and I love seeing your channel grow more and more every day. Here's to hoping I end up clashing against you in Arena one day, though the idea terrifies me with your skill heh.
Great games and deck as usual. I could be wrong but it seems like , in game 3 at 29:20, the opponent could've just channeled Shigeki for Tyvar's Stand and killed you on the spot? I guess it didn't matter in the end but interesting back and forth between you and opponent either way.
I was playing against this card recently and I had Croaking Counterpart, which I used to copy it. You should have seen how many times the opponent looked at Croaking Counterpart when their stuff wouldn’t work anymore 🤣
Really hate when you give the opponent the opportunity to swing and win and they feel the need to dump their hand. Maybe that's just a biproduct of the quest system, but still...drives me nuts, haha.
I understand your way of thinking, but I enjoyed it! Especially after long and grindy match, when I finally can do the alpha strike, and the opponent scoops one second before, taking away my satisfaction... I hate that!
On the other side I hate needing 5 extra games to complete my quests because the opponent can’t wait a minute and a half for me to swing with 5 creatures, or play that last land. There’s no way they’d know and I get that they want to get to the next game but it’s still annoying for me to deal with, it’s definitely the systems fault in how it’s set up
@@stefanoriva1738 I feel you. Whenever it was a decent game that I'm about to lose and not a complete stomp, I usually let OP play out his winning turn... I guess I've become less of a salty scooper with age
At 40:53 you could activate Guardian Idol first to crew Skysovereign together with Spirited Companion to get 1 extra damage in, and also have Elesh Norn back on defense.
Caged Sun is like Gauntlet of Power but only for you. And Gauntlet of Power is like Gauntlet of Might but for any color. "The power of the sun, in the palm of my hand."
You faced some truly wild top decks and specific answers in the opponents hand these games, was probably a little frustrating for you but it made for a fun video for sure.
Would you consider any of the New Capenna fetchlands to ramp and gain life with Elesh Norn out? Or are taplands that don't ramp until you're already playing your commander too slow/low value?
Matchmaking seems pretty flawed here, though I could be reading too much into things. "Oh, your Muldrotha deck is all about ETB effects! That means this other ETB deck would be a fair opponent for you."
Mom is super fun to play with, but unfortunately she's just another top tier deck that the Match Maker will use to crush my -will to play- janky C-tier commanders lol.

Shut up.
I watch the videos because of that. I quit mtga because of the toxicity. Its refreshing to see nice people.
That commentator idea is actually a great one

Agreed. His positive attitude is one of the reason i watch his content.
10:48 Man, LVD's ability to consistently know what the opponent is holding really speaks to how much of an mtg -nerd- genius he is.

To be fair, if they're playing blue, they always have Wash Away. Same as white always having swords, and green always having protection.
The opponent made it very obvious

Great job on the deck building
Most decks struggle against flyers 🤯

Um ditto, I’ve been watching for awhile when duels of the planes walkers was a thing.
Panharmommycon!!!!
Built this deck this morning and won 7 matches in a row. Can confirm, I had fun.
always enjoy your brawl videos
That was a Very Impressive deck. Love the synergy & fluidity of this deck. 😍
Ah yes the feedback review on elesh norn. Worth it.
Have had my own Elesh Norn historic brawl deck but looking forward to seeing how you built it
23:10 I didn't expect you to be the upfront type, Legend.
XD
I mean, who wouldn't. It is Liliana
As a shrine deck enjoyer, that was a brutal game
I'm amazed that he couldn't do anything with 8 cards and the hallowed hunting. Also, any of the sweepers were actually good
Panharmommycon is just as good as you'd expect. Great vid! :D
im so glad that you had some fun.
I've been on the record as LOVING Teleportation Circle as a recursive flicker/etb tool and I love that Elesh Norn works so well with it.
Opponent missing lethal at 29:22.
I think they could channel Shigeki for a pump spell, say Tyvar's stand
I saw this too and wanna write it :D perhaps enemy dont played Shigeki so often in previouse games...
i would cut Thraben Inspector, Sleeper Dart and Wedding Invitation for Omen of the Sun, Ajani's Chosen and Archon of Sun's Grace.
Having fun provides a LOT of value
Props to you for showing a loss and being honest. Other YT’s don’t do that.

Elesh Norn, the Mother of Compleat Value.
I feel bad for any Yarok, the Desecrated players going up against you.
I enjoy your historic brawl content so much man, would you ever consider making a demon tribal Raphael The fiendish Saviour deck ?
That's going to be up to my Patreon supporters, if it's suggested by them I can add it to the poll.
The pilgrim guy was playing your list lmao.
LOL on the Thumbnail!
Well as long as Luca had fun guys, that's all that really matters in the end (':
Such a fun deck. The Mother of Machines provides.
Love your content but elesh norn is a deck I just scoop to… hate piece and pan harmonicon is a brutal combo
Cloning Elesh Norn is surprisingly effective if you’re playing blue!
True! But terrifying if your pet deck is a reezug deck with ravenous chupacabra style removal and a ton of etbs
The deck looks good even with mtga's limited card pool...
Imagine the things you can do in paper :D
Hey just curious is there a reason fabled passage is in the deck? I tried it and it didn't ETB trigger with the Machine Mom!
It's there for Felidar Retreat to enable Landfall twice.
Start of the video is at 8:35 for anyone else who already knows how this deck works 😂
There are always timestamps on the video timeline to skip ahead!
Would you consider any of the New Capenna fetchlands to ramp and gain life with Elesh Norn out? Or are taplands that don't ramp until you're already playing your commander too slow/low value?
Those don’t actually get you an extra land. Main reason to play them would be Felidar Retreat but probably best to avoid tapped lands.
@@LegenVD Ah, because the sacrifice trigger can only be met once. Missed that! Thanks for the response!

Why no Norn's Fetchling?
