The snowflake spots are because you were standing next to penguins, who give off hypothermic insulation.

Animal Partie where do you live, we still have snow bud
Get some metal spiked walls. Have a teammate place it down, grapple above it, and then pull the yetis and wolves. The wall will cover your dps. You could have someone take a baby beaver in and let it mature in the forward base that BTC set up. it's smithy saddle will let you rebuild them and repair some of your gear on the fly. just clear the path ahead, and then bring beaver up once it's safe.

Slip can you do a modded ark in the morning and normal ark in the evning
You guys should make metal spikes and place them on the hallways and kite dinos back and kill them on the spikes

To add to that maybe partition off hallways with metal walls all the way to the ceiling and a door in the middle, put spikes on either side so if your in trouble, run through the door and the spikes should kill them and nothing will be able to get past. Keep building these walls in each hallway as you progess.

You can use pinguins for a warm up spot, because they give warmth.

you should tame up a whole army of dimorphodons and take them into the caves. buff the weight on them and have them carry gear for you.
I think these caves are designed so that a whole tribe of maybe 25-50 can all do something together, and still have a challenge, as there is nothing else that a large group of players can do and still have a challenge

to have a way to repair your stuff during the trip why not breed a beaver inside the cave ? They are pretty though and if it's too hard for him you may put him on passive and have him hang back to be sure to keep him alive.
That would mean using flak and not riot and have a longneck as backup weapon even if you use a compound bow or pump action but it should be useful I think ?

You should add the stacks mod from the modded server so that you can make the higher tier blueprints.
Bring your Higest level snow gear, steak saute, fria curry, Medical brews, High powered gun and grappling hooks (LOTS)... I took on the cave single player and got out :) step softly Kill onix first, Keep grapple hook out at all times and only switch for onix :)

You guys should bring tons of auto torches to put around the cave for heat.

If you do it agin go with 7 ppl it has to work a friend had to go in with half of his wight was just grappling hooks and lots of bullits But make shure you take a lot of friends with you

the key to this cave is lots and lots of grappling hooks with 2 or 3 crossbows per person, you can switch between crossbows and swing like Batman through the cave without having to deal with the crazy high level dinos

yes, once grappled you switch to your second crossbow, let go with your first grapple and immediately fire the second, you should be able to do this without hitting the ground if you fire as soon as you let go, you basically never have to fight the mobs but you need a LOT of grapples

It would be awesome if you could revive an ally. Then again you could use a sleeping bag. Maybe they need to make them despawn in a few hours that way the world or this cave doesn't get littered with them.

I think Drax actually had a very good idea with bringing the Dimorphadon, they are great for dealing with the bats, you guys just need to be a bit more...carful next time where you aim lol But yeah, a small swarm of those guys are like flying piranha, pretty useful.Also those 'warm spots' you guys found, I noticed that at least one was by a penguin, could be their insulatory effect working to help out?Another trick I've seen a few people talk about is using the C4 charges or bear traps to slow down the Yetie and wolves. Like a great man once said, 'When in doubt, C4.' ;)
Why don't you guys take some medical brew with you into the new caves? Basically a little insta health and not that hard to make.
If this is vanilla how were you killed by a 148 wild Dire Wolf?? I'm guessing you're running the original series on the same server by killing a 200 dire wolf? Kinda hoped you would keep both series separate....
Sl1pg8er you should make Medical Brew with I think like 20 Tintoberrys and 2 Narcotic in an industrial Cooker or cooking pot but I recommend industrial Cooker.
I think next time you guys get way better fur armor, get a couple of smithies and campfires/fireplaces and make like little checkpoint outposts so when you need to retreat and repair, you will have your smithy and things at that checkpoint outpost. Also you should get into medical brews and energy brews for better healing and keep your stamina up. Then, get way better guns. You guys will have a better chance, hopefully. Better luck next time ^_^
I played this cave and... It took like 28-40 rockets or more to kill one yeti with direct hits from above while i was grappled to the ceiling. 2 people can't do this cave XD and i think it'd be hard for 4 players unless difficulty is low?
Does anyone know a proper difficulty for this ice cave to be manageable with 2 people?
Healing brews help, Kairuku help to insulate, you can hatch babies inside with the ac, IED's would help with the dinos on the ground, aswell as grenades while you're grappling above just some suggestions, GL to you sirs.

Sl1p, you and the guys should take mindwipe tonics then pump fortitude, speed and health then just bumrush the cave naked. Put a ton of beds at the beginning of the cave to respawn at. Then play the remix behind the footage. It would be hilarious!

That was a valiant effort! Use the penguins for warmth if you need it when you see them; you did once but I don't you realized the semi-warmth was coming from the penguin. (-:

I know this vid is a bit "old" now but in case you still see this message : you would have had an easier time with another weapon IMO.
Most fire weapons are only efficient against humans or maybe small dinos.
Most medium to big dinos have an "armor" : consider their skin is so thick that it's like wearing a suit of armor so you need a weapon that can pierce it.
Metal arrows used on a compound bow are the best but if you want a fire weapon then only longneck and shotgun have that effect.
I would prefer an apprentice, maybe even ramshackled compound bow over an ascendent sniper rifle any day to go dino hunting.
Explosives work really well in that cave. Set up an IED in a tunnel and pull a pack of dire wolves to it and they all go splat. Rocket launcher works nicely too. I managed to kill 12 megapiranhas with one shot, it was sick XP.

Bring medical brews as well, ask some people for mc fur and put some time in making like checkpoints, doing it that way you'll be able to do it I guess. Great video btw, I keep enjoying every episode!
So if you guys plan to get more mods on the vanilla server that make things a little easier (Like the Auto Torch Mod) then you might want to get the Reusable Grappling Hook. Basically it adds a Grappling Hook that is crafted in your inventory and basically adds a new Grappling Hook into your inventory after you use it (Or in other words after you use one a new one goes into your inventory) . Making it so that you only have to craft one and you're good on Grappling Hooks
That cave is evil. Maybe you could take in more structures and really set it up well so each time you go forward you don't get sent back to far and hold your position. You could set sleeping bags at certain points. A lot of places you could set up gates and doorways with doors. You can shoot from the behind doors as most animals can't fit through. Anyway heaps of structures I reckon.

I think the new caves call for Sl1pg8r to go on a "week long drop hunt", it seems you really need mastercraft and higher level weapons and tools
also, wouldn't it be smarter to simply use rocket launchers?
if you bring dimetredons or penguins they will keep you insulated, the more penguins around you the warmer you will be. 5 penguins might not make a huge difference fighting yetis, but 25 would :)
So my server and myself were able to do it, we all collected the best weapons and armor we had across the server, 3 of us, including myself had ascendent assault rifles and mastercraft rocket launchers, we managed to clear the cave in 20 minutes. Also had full mastercraft flak armor and 80 fort didnt even snow flake :D
Great video! Seeing you guys not caring tons about your equipment being spent, helped the experience. Please try the caves again with some better equipment and perhaps more people and you would be doing well :)
Dude I'm upgrading my fortification so I can survive in this cave. 100+ fortification +fur armor should be enough to not freeze.

convenient server crash. rolls back 45 minutes. why not admit you went in unprepared and got owned by the cave. lost your gear and instead of having to recraft it all you rolled the server back.

you need need hypothermal insulation of 700 ish to be snowflake and over 800 to be not effected
