Porsche 997 GT3 or 992 GT3 - Which sounds better?!

The classic Mezger engined Porsche 997 911 GT3 is said to be more road friendly than the current 992 911 GT3. Here two beautiful manual versions of these cars are driven hard on a race track by their owners. Which do you think sounds better? It will be interesting to hear in the comments.....

997 sounds a little more raw, but they're very similar and it would be hard to tell the difference between them not knowing which was which. And very happy to see both are manuals. So sick of autos.

I think the video demonstrates that newer Porsche sports cars have an emphasis on improving the sound inside the car for the driver. It would be interesting to compare the noise from outside the cars as well!

The 997 has more complexity and variation in its harmonics over the rev-range. I have to give the "absolute screamer" award to the 992 though!
