Way to go dad, you did great! ❤️Thank you Steve and Val for your kindness and generosity to my dad and family! It is truly appreciated!!
Bless your heart. I’m so happy for your dad. Best wishes to you and your family.
I love your dad's chill personality, he seems so calm and collected, under all that pressure on a big day like that with the camera and bystanders watching his every move.
What a nice guy, hope he enjoys the car.
Your dad is an amazing guy! He did awesome! It was such a privilege to spend the day with him.
@@valeriemorris7669thank you! He had so many great things to say about you all!! Thank you again from the bottom of my heart, my dad is so grateful. It’s nice to see so that good still exists in the world! And apparently I live right around the corner from your shop in NS. I’m on Mona Lake!
Congratulations, happy to see a beautiful car go to a wonderful family.
At 82 years old I hope and prey I can do that good, in a brand new race car!!
Great video!!
SME is the best!!!
To get in any unfamiliar race car at the strip and go straight down the rack is daunting, and to have Steve Morris filming you as well would be unsettling for anyone, it's a lot to take in, well done Steve and Val you did a good job and what a prize!
Nothing bent. Nothing broken. Nobody hurt. That's a great day.
As much I as wanted to see Steve and Val keep Sugar Momma, seeing this gentlemans face and hearing him talking about it. Is so cool.
When they found that Camaro for sale, it was over for Sugar Momma. 😆
Steve and Val, you guys are some of the classiest people in the automotive industry. This was not just a normal car giveaway. Incredibly cool to spend the time you did with Les and his family.
If the gentleman never won anything else in his life, he could not have done better than he did with this car.
Bravo to Steve and everybody involved!!!
Boy if old Les was my grandpa, I’d be borrowing the car every Friday night 😅
If old Les was my grandpa, he wouldn't let me borrow the car every Friday 😅 (and very rightly so!)
Me too
You'll probably be able to borrow it for.....well permanently. He'll have a stroke soon
If I was Les, I wouldn't let you!
LOL
No doubt about it every time there be a test and tune I would be there lol
Loved the fact that Steve brought his family to help and Les brought his family for support. Loved this video! Les is truly the perfect person to get this car. Really hope he goes and wins some races with it.
With Les living rather close to Steve, I forsee a new friendship and that we will see this car following Steve along in future drag n drive events. That would be really cool to see this car in future videos.
“You scared that ugly Frod beside you.” I love this old fella! Congratulations, Les!
Many people would LOVE to have Steve Morris give them some personal coaching time in their race car. Steve is the MAN!!
Exactly, that should be the next give away ...8 hr with Steve
Meh, he likes scraping guard rails...
i believe the car has gone to a great home. This was a nice video, and Les will do fine with a bit more seat time.
The pressure of getting in a unfamiliar fast car for the first time and trying to do everything perfectly, anyone would make mistakes. For les not racing for awhile he's got to get back into the groove and learn the car, but I personally think he did great with all the pressure .
He sure did! 😊
Steve & Val…y’all are great people and took such great care of Les during this process! Awesome to see.
Your a Class Act Sir. Even teach the man how to drive it. Right on Sir.

🎵🎵Once I was 70 years old 🎵🎵 out there living it up.
Les did a great job!! There's so much to keep up with in a car like that. And like so many people say, any track day you can drive away from is a successful one.
What a good old boy. I hope he is able to use and enjoy it.
That is so awesome. Steve goes out of his way to help everyone. Congrats I hope when I'm in my 80s I can enjoy life like you are.
Your a good man, Steve Morris.
Les is a lucky man, I think he did well, won a car and made a friend name Steve.
May God bless you all.
Congratulations to him. But it’s hard to teach an Old dog new tricks. He’ll get it it’s gonna take some seat time
HOPE HE INJOYS IT AND HAS LOTS OF FUN . US OLD BOYS LIKE TO HAVE FUN AS WELL .
Congratulations Les. For not having driven the car before, you did well with Sugar Mamma. May you and your family get many miles of joy, some 1/4 mile, some much longer. at a time. Sugar Mamma is in good hands.
Steve, your a solid guy to take time out of your busy schedule to spend time with that family to give away what I think is one of the best giveaway cars of all time👍
I'd like to hear more about this guy's former race car, the 63 Pontiac Tempest...
Sadly I didn’t win it, but I’m happy to see an OG former drag racer win it. ✌🏻 Thank you Steve Morris for putting out these awesome videos.
Les is gonna have SO much fun once he is familiar with the car... Awesome!
Less is a treasure. The car could not have gone to a better person. I hope he has a blast with it. I know his kids will.
A lot of emotions in this video. You can feel that guy. He truly appreciates this. GOOD JOB STEVE MORRIS.
Can’t wait to see him on the next drag and drive event! Couldn’t happen to the nicest person for the win of Sugar Momma.
That's this man of 82 years young gets that happy over winning that car.i could watch nothing but Steve giving stuff to older people the joy is real
If I was going to win a custom/specialty car I would want to win it from Steve Morris.
Seeing how he supports his customers after the sale, I wouldn't want it from anybody else.
So awesome, Steve, cool of you, GOOD LUCK LES, YOUVE GOT THIS !!!!!!!!!
The expression on Val s face is priceless. It s like on of her children is going to camp!. im sure she is glad that Les is a gentle soul he will take good care of the car!
As we were pulling out with an empty trailer, I told Steve I felt like we just gave away our dog, but was glad it was going to a good guy.😊
Those who have not drag raced are not aware of the complexity of the ritual to burnout, staging and launch. Coming back to it after a few years, in a new car with more power and complex features makes a learning experience.
Les is quite but when you're learning your listening not talking. Guy has forgotten more than I learned last year! Hope you enjoy it or sell it back to Steve! Cheers from Colorado!!
To an extent. That looked more like straining to listen and learn. It gets harder over the years.
I don't care what your age is, that is so much information to take in, with cameras rolling, also. Race electronics, trans brake, shifter, super big loud horsepower, etc., is lots of pressure. From the beginning, to the end of this video, showed us a different Les. He will be fine.
Don't forget, Les has not driven for near a decade apparently. The video showed a lot of "rust" dropping off.
Once he gets comfortable...... He'll be dialed in.
I'm willing to bet, that first pass.... as he crossed the finish line...... HUGE GRIN.....
Well done steve val and family..
You give true meaning to the word bespoke...service
Congratulations Les,Steve, your an outstanding man,Sugar Momma is a outstanding car,I haven’t followed you very long but love your videos, your engine speak for themselves, love your wagon,it’s different than the everyday common Chevy II or Nova ….
Great man and your amazing family 😊
Between Steve and a few other channels I have learned so much in the last week.
Steve's channel and a few others are pur gold. KSR RACING FABRICATION , a few others.
Deffinately old man's garage teaching a 15 year old this week that ran a second n a half faster than allowed.
And handled that car like a champ that Lil lady did
Big bill loves to teach the craft also..
I'd love to see and SM engine one day in an SRC or old man's garage car.
Wealth of knowledge These 3 channels
It was nice to see him and his family enjoy it. At the end to see it loaded and going by by was sad but happy
Good luck working out the details.... Have fun and use that car like it was built to run.. lots of jealous people out here wishing we were in your shoes!!!
Riding home with smiles on faces!
Congratulations!
Steve, you showed great kindness there 👍
This one of the coolest things ive ever seen. Could not have been a better winner in my opinion
Awesome to see a man like Les win the car. Good stuff Steve, congrats Les!
I'm only 50 now, but I'm hanging on to my 9.43 second suzuki gs till I reach his age. Gonna still race it to piss my grandkids off too
Exactly the right person won!! Congratulations !!
Never to old to drag race
Congratulations Les🎉
A little more seat time in the new offfice and youll soon be making runs for a competition license.
I appreciate how you took the time to teach him the car. I only wish it was me! Thank you for your channel.
So nice to see the winner make a few passes !!
They guy is amazing!! 82 and still racing!!! I hope I get there!!
i am so glad this car went to a racer and will keep him in racing
I have a feeling Les's son and grand sons are gonna get into drag racing. Only after grampa gets a pass or twenty. Hope to see sugar momma out being enjoyed and not locked in a garage somewhere.
I think Les did great, I think that he was just nervous and trying to take everything in. He's going to do great in that car after he gets used to it. Good luck Les, great job Steve.
What a great thought having him try it out, but yes it would make for nervous runs for sure!
Thanks for doing this giveaway and doing what you are doing!
In 70 years, I've never won anything in a contest drawing, etc. The only way I won playing blackjack in Reno during college was because my gf was dealer, & they showed us how to beat the odds.
But, life is funny, & I've learned to listen to it. I had a feeling about Sugar Momma while watching one of your videos, so I did the unusual & bought a couple of shirts.
But, like I said, life is funny. I pondered the what if. I'm still recovering from nearly 4 yrs of 3 cancer 'occurances' after being devastated, financially, by a brain injury at 50, which left me as a literal pauper.
No complaints, I lived 3-4 lives in 50 years & have a shop & a World Series ring, (1988), w/ my name on it.
Thought about how much Steve still wanted the car & decided if I won, I'd work it out to do Sick Week, then give the car back to Steve. (Already have 2 cars I need a shop for & no way could I afford to maintain Sugar Momma & pursue my current goals.)
Life is funny, close but no cigar; sometimes you gotta step aside for seniority. Close, one letter off the last names & my Meghan has one more.
Close... you're setting the bar for YT car giveaways; a sweet effing car, 15K & a day w/ you AT the track, which is priceless.
You're a good man, Steve.
GeoD
It took 82 years for Les. He said he had never won anything either. You just never know.🤷♀️
Let Les get to know the car and some seat time and do another video with him . Everyone wants to see Les make a his first 9sec pass!
Pretty cool deal and a hell of a way to get someone back into racing
Was great seeing the car run down the strip in person
Have fun with it Les. Hope to see you at a track someday
Such a cool story. Love that he and his family get to drive that machine. Awesome giveaway!
congrats to the winner you will get it buddy keep at it .
Once he gets used to the car hes going to have a blast. Hes a car guy, probably nervous, been a few years since hes been behind the wheel of a car like that. Plus his grand kids are gonna get to learn and enjoy it with him. Even if he never races it, i can guarantee he will always keep it clean and show it off. Such an awesome thing to see.
Couldn't have gone to a better person. All the givea ays I have watched across many channels.
This is fucking awesome.
GENIUS!!! SM your going to have every drag enthusiast loving your channel and buying your merch!
Awesome!
God Bless Steve Morris.
That is the way to do Steve and Val, full treat, so nice to do that BRAVO !!,,!
What an absolute amazing ending to such an awesome giveaway!
You know he isn’t gonna turn around and sell it and he’s going to cherish it till the end.
even though I'm saltyer than a peanut because I didn't win lol
it's awesome to see it's going to someone who not gonna beat on it.
because if I'm totally be honest I would've be up that motor. I would've ordered a motor from Steve before taking possession of the car.
Congratulations.
Steve and Val and everyone that had a hand in building/tuning parts. awesome car!
That's awesome Steve! Congratulations Les!
There is another level of detail for racing versus driving around. The old timer is getting an F-16 and he will use it as a crop-duster. 😂
Steve Morris “All Back Of The Bus” ridding in the back seat. 😂
That is Too Cool ! I'm Still Smiling for Les , Congrats Sir ! I know Damn well I would have done same thing , butterflies , people watching , new car , Excitement , I'm Smiling !
I think it should be renamed for him Papa Les. This was one of my favorite videos.
I think Les did great. overwhelmed for sure give him a few weeks and he will be ok.
"Said the guy who drives a station wagon" nice burn Val.
Very cool He handled the day well. I am sure we will see him on future events. Congratulations
Really awesome to see him back in a race car on the track especially at his age. But at the same time I'm mad it's not me lol
That’s so awesome. You should have made a couple passes in the car with him. Would love to see a follow up. Huge congratulations Les. Be safe out there Les. Did you make sure to tell him Steve that you want first dibs if he wants to sell it ? Lol
Absolutely he needs to become acclimated with the car first, then go run it down the strip.
Good job Steve!
I would have been a nervous wreck Les did good!
Just a big group of some wonderful people enjoying the drag strip with a new ride. What a dream for most of us.
Alot of folks have car give aways, And this is not taking away from any of them, But Steve Gave a Car away yes, but more so he brought back the dream of a mans youth, and that's something that not everyone can or will do! great video as always!
That’s awesome!! Good for him and it stayed in Michigan!!
I miss Sugar Momma already.. Congrats again Les.
If I can’t win, so happy for Les. Awesome giveaway, Steve.
I'm addicted to your channel and the way you do things. This giveaway has put you over the top. You not only gave a car ( a nice car ! ) , but your time , can't put a price on that ...
As much as I wanted this giveaway it is so wonderful to see it go to such a great person. He seems like a wonderful person. Good luck to him
Congratulations!! I see lots of track time in your future surrounded by family! Nothing better!!
One lucky badass 82 year old back into drag racing because Val caught the bug again and wants to get faster. And we don't complain one bit! 😁🤟
It's so cool to see old guys out there having the time of their lifes. Sam is a good example: the new noisy neighbor (James Taal) moved in a few years ago, thus introducing him to Cleetus McFarland, and ever since his retirement life got A LOT more interesting! 😁
I'm happy the car went to a good man, And not a knucklehead that would trash the car.. Good for you Les enjoy the car
Awesome, thanks Steve. Congrats to Les
This made me smile for 27:09 minutes! Just see Sugar Momma go to such a nice guy. :)
That so awesome, you can tell those boys are going to learn alot about racing watching Gramps get into the groove! Looking forward to future vids of Sugar Moma. Maybe the grandkids should start their own youtube channel just following Gramps and Sugar Momma. 😊
Imagine winning this car AND getting lessons from Steve. Awesome! Great channel.
fabulous new owner, hope he has a lot of fun with it.
Mrs Morris is a really cool lady
