- These are the NEWLY Modernized/Possibly Totally Replaced Elevators at the Bell Media Tower, formerly known as the Montreal Trust Tower in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. These are my VERY FIRST KONE POLARIS ELEVATORS!!!!!! I can't believe I got to find one of these, so AWESOME AND RARE!!!! Now all I need to find is a Schindler 5500!!!!!! Yes, as you guys know, I absolutely HATE KONE, AND I absolutely HATE MODERNIZATIONS!!!!!! But everything has it's exceptions, and this new KONE Polaris, let me tell ya, I was pretty impressed!!!!!! These Elevators unlike many KONE's actually run smoothly, don't make shaft or equipments noises it shouldn't make, they run smoothly and they don't appear to have broken down at all so far, and unlike many KONEs, the cabs and fixtures don't feel like cheap thin aluminum or plastic, and they actually feel solid. Yes, the COP is surface mounted, and like many KONEs, the buttons and COPs do still like they are on the cheap side, but forget the fixtures, rest of this elevator feels high quality and well built, which isn't something I can say about many KONEs as a lot of them feel like cheap pieces of garbage that can only last 5-10 years at most!!!!! This building was built in 1986, and these used to be Otis Elevonic 401 Elevators with Series 1 fixtures (Lord Elevator has a video of these when original, and back when the place was known as the Montreal Trust Tower) and while I HATE seeing Elevonic 401s bite the dust along with any older, vintage or antique elevator, and ones advanced for their time, KONE did an AWESOME job, and I was SUPRISED AND AMAZED with how this was, especially being this is my first KONE Polaris Elevator system!!!!! Plus, the French voice just adds to the AWESOMENESS of these and I sure like the sound of it MUCH better than the weird and annoying English voices KONE uses. These were mostly totally replaced, (the Otis logo is gone) aside from the outside doors, but still AMAZED!!!!!! Global Elevators (when fully modded) and one other user filmed these (in mod progress) and without your help, I wouldn't have known about these, so thank you so much!!!!!! And I rode both banks, both were FANTASTIC, But the High-rise went at a nice speed and were fun to ride in!!!!!! Anyways, with that being said, enjoy a ride on MY VERY FIRST KONE POLARIS DESTINATION DISPATCH!!!!!!!
Installed: 1986 (Otis Series 1 Elevonic 401)
Modernized/Replaced: 2017 (KONE Polaris with KSS 900 Fixtures)
Even though you hate Kone, these are worth coming in for.
I know and I agree with you

Translation :
This control panel of kone destination polaris™ (DOP) is for using of elevators.
To use the elevator :
1. Select your destination floor with this panel.
2. Go to the elevator that has been indicated.
The time of the elevator and moving time are minimized by putting indicated n the same car peoples who go on th same floor.
This Kone elevator is much better than others!! Beautiful!!!
Proper maintenance = A good ecodisc. Let's hope this stays the way how it should be operated.
Also I imagine that those stuff are not noisy because it is not an MRL, and they have higher end motors.
The 4th gen kone ecodisc motors also stopped making lots of noise, but I don't know if they will do that in the US. Kone has definitely changed.
Kone Polaris with the original motors is just awesome.
Just as I remember them! I'm glad you got to ride these!
The JW Marriott in Indianapolis, IN has KONEs with Innovation Prestige, and they’re ACTUALLY worth it! They were installed in 2008-2011.
Polaris are a very awesome model that Kone produced. I approve these.
Tobey Sze And NanoSpace.
YAY! Gotta love the French annoucements! Also, the door speed is quite fast when it opens.
Vancity Elevators Pppp
These are COOL elevators!! I just need to find a KONE Polaris to film...
NW Indiana Elevators They sure are!!!!! Yes, it's such a shame the Elevonic 401s are gone, but I was just amazed with these!!!
Also I think that Kone Polaris is the system that manages the destenation dispatch thing.
I imagine the motors would be high end ecodiscs.
182duhkj1hwif8y98y2h3ed Yeah, not sure what kind of machinery they use on these Polaris elevators, though unlike a lot of Ecodiscs they do feel pretty solid
i agree they do use some ecodiscs on kone polarises
2:29 The touch-screen reading out the floors as one's finger hovers over them. How much technology has progressed.
These doors look smooth as hell. It saddens me to compare this beautiful Polaris to the crappy Ecodisc I have at my place
Otis Elevonics are awesome and classic. I know that those Kone stuff are pretty good, but they should have kept the Otis a little longer.
182duhkj1hwif8y98y2h3ed I do definitely agree, I like Elevonic 401s a lot too and thankfully there still are plenty still around. And hopefully those systems that still exist don't get modded!!!
This are so cool and nice MUCH better than ecodisc
Very nice elevators!
great mod i liked your video
Even if they are speaking in French from France and not in Canadian French, they chose a custom voice and not the normal French speaking Kone voice, but anyway they seem to be really good elevators !
imaginox9 Hey, they are awesome and I'm amazed at the quality considering they are KONE!!
Well here in Europe, Kone elevators are really good, as well as Schindler, they both have intelligent leveling, where the cab stops smoothly in one clean shot and is perfectly levelled with the floor, plus they don't break down often here.
In Canada the national languages are English and French, in Montreal there's only franglais.
Correct
Interestingly the property owner's website still lists these as Elevonic 401.
upanddownadventures Yeah, I saw that lol
I like the voice on the elevators (cause i understand french)
Really better compared to the kone ones on the hotel with the left one broken.
Wow. Quite a change from the originals.
Lord Elevator They sure are!!!
i think the indicater just goes ahead for the floors then the actual elevator does
It is an optional setting called “advance floor indicator”. Most KONE lifts seem to have them on as default.
Nice it has pre-doors/classic levelling
wow a good one
Reminds me of thehigh-speed Kone elevator in tytri Finland (I think I spelled that right)
Epic!
it is epic CAelevators
We call them in Australia "Destination".
Alex Stanton Cool
Kone Polaris is cool but I like the Schindler Port & Miconic. 10 more good.
Schindler PORT is nice. Miconic 10 is cool too, but it's as glitchy as heck.
ElevatorsinUSA LOL
Some kone's are shit and, some are good this is a good one
stop saying the s word!
stop saying the s word!
I’ve been in 3 Polaris
why would you hate kone..... their products are fucking amazing
I disagree. Most of them are poorly made, run like crap, feel cheap and break a lot and have very glitchy and laggy controllers. This is one of the few good ones I've seen
Floridian Elevators Kones in other countries have better built quality than the ones in the US for some reason. Why Kone.
What is this game link?
I mean real life
What did you say on that comment
I thought you think that these Elevators are GROSS because they’re KONE.
Oregon Elevator Fan They may be KONE, but they are the exact opposite of what KONE quality really is LOL. Unlike most KONEs, these are actually fun to ride and seem to be decently built, reason why I dislike KONE is cause they are usually cheap and run horribly and are just flat out boring.
Ascenseur means elevator
Nicky Wedemeyer Correct
Well, de ja vu
