A great little keboard! Fabulous sound and feel! My wish list for a pss a60: - second speaker: stereo - more musical motion effects - battery low indicator (to avoid sudden death) - foot switch (damper) input - more ternary rythms (rock, blues, jazz) - 8 more keys (to the lower E)
I've played this keyboard today at the namm musikmesse 2019 Moscow. It's as Reface for PSS line keyboards from 80s. Very fun, good keyboard and timbres, love it.
How I wish Yamaha produces a pro version with more sounds, better speaker and usb audio in and out. And a 4 tracks midi looper. Something like Roland MC101 or Teenage Engineering OPZ with keyboard. It would be fun portable instrument to play everywhere.

I mod the PSS-A50 in order to recreate the RIGHT channel path since only the LEFT channel of the soundengine chip is connected to the left+right jack headphones. Most probably applicable for both PSS-A50, PSS-E30 and PSS-F30 since the hardware is the same.

Just make a pss a80 with some synth control, few hundred sounds, modulation, pitch, aux in, midi out and 2 decent speakers. Still with 3 octaves and batteries.
@@sonicaids The A50 is quite possibly what lays the foundation for what "earman" is demanding. The basic formula is essentially similar to the Yamaha MX-49. I will be waiting for improvements over the A50 such as the addition of pitch-bend and modulation wheels, pattern sequencing and MIDI sequencing. A vocoder function (which the Korg Kross has) would be a nice touch. The PSS-A50, if evolved into the PSS-A80 (as an example name) would be functionally like the Korg Kross but with 37 keys. That is the minimum I would be looking for. For an 88-note piano keyboard I have an M*Audio MIDI controller keyboard on hand. For the display, at the very least, the organic LED graphic display from the Reface DX would add the perfect finishing touch!
@@LoloLolo-wd6xi A better idea came to my mind. Yamaha should take the basic recipe for the Korg Kross and pack it all up inside the PSS-A80's 37-note keyboard body.
@@sonicaids Aye, the arpeggio stuff is quite mhe when you don't have a proper track for it (you can record just one note and let it go) and no way to declare mode. Also as the keyboard is multi timbral it would be nice to be able to split the keyboard, to have chords / arp on the first octave and melody on the rest. Form Factor is good, just please make an improved version even for 3 times the price, like the Reface.
Compared to the last Yamaha PSS-780 it´s looks more like a mini Reface DJX (like the Roland Go:Keys) than a real PSS - FM synthesizer. Stil it´s looks better than the crappy sonogenic PSS.

If you look at Korg's Kross model, it very well has all the possibilities that could be packed into the Yamaha PSS-A80 for the redesign.
