XG is not considered K-pop as all members are Japanese or Japanese mix and perform hip-hop and R&B in English (on official tracks).
However, they are based in South Korea, which causes some confusion.
Since they don't really fit in the K-pop or J-pop box, X-pop is the term they use to describe their uniqueness, and obviously, a play off their name.
XG = Xtraordinary Girls
X-pop = Xtraordinary pop
To get to know the individual members:
XG Tapes showcase the 4 rappers.
XG Vox's showcase the 3 singers.
