This might be a hot take, but I’ve played every mainline ac game, and surprisingly, valhalla is the one I enjoyed the most. It exceeded my expectations.
Love Eivor's character, the flyting and orlog mini-games, the settlement building, the raids, and the combat, which is definitely better than all of its predecessors.

the fact that we have not gotten a reverse rouge is criminal, to see a templar join the assassins would be such a cool game imo, as long as they make it smilar to pre origins whit a more heavy stealth and arkham combat

I'd have to disagree with Odyssey's cities not feeling unique or different. Athens is a standout, and most of the islands have some amazing looking cities. Some showcase the breathtaking work the Greeks performed with marble, while others have mud and dirt all over. I agree with pretty much everything you said. The Cult of Kosmos is easily one of the most terrifying groups in the franchise. Their hold on Greece was quite literally in every aspect of the world.

    AC3 - The Homestead Missions.
I would have loved the game more if its entirety was focused on the Homestead.

    • @Kimkong2
      @Kimkong2 2 часа назад

I was honestly so suprised at how engaging and deep the homestead was. When i first played it, i expected it to just be a gimmick that gives you passive benefits but it was so dynamic and engaging that i found myself actually caring about everyone in that place and managing/growing it. I always kept going back to it in between every mission just to check up on people and i always had something i could do to actually impact the place and people in game. It wasn't just a menu managemnet system that is disguised as a hideout.

What I absolutely adore in AC II - aside from the obvious, that is Ezio himself - is the feel of mistery. Here I think about the brotherhood, Templars (and their plots), Abstergo, these weird symbols and the riddles connected to it. All of that created a grand mistery and I love it! That one part is unmatched!
Granted I was basically a kid back then and it prolly helped my imagination but it was very cool anyway.

I was done with AC around thirty hours into Valhalla. I don't think I have the time or inclination for more, unless some major switch up happens; but I always like your videos, and thoughts. My personal engagement with the series is currently having fun revisiting Revelations, and actually exploring creative options with the bombs... something that I think was pushed heavy, but gave no real impetus to pursue due to basic mission design, and the waste of time concocting the things in the first place.

  • @damirmusic7619

It's nice to see that they used kinda same "sign" for templars in newer AC. I can see on Shay's belt something like a "coin" representing tree, that is introduced in Vallhala like tree of Yiggdrasi'l, "braches" of the templars

Dude the setting in AC1 is the BEST! Hanging around the Holy Land is such a vibe. I hope for a remake with modern controls and mechanics.

I always found it funny that Ezio stronghold was Monteriggioni, cause it's technically in the province of Siena (my hometown) and Siena and Firenze had historically a big, big rivalry - and Monteriggioni was constantly fought between them

Maybe not absolute favorites list but highlights about each one I like to mention! (Not going to do every game cuz its not my video haha)
AC1: Overall presentation (blending of all the elements:dialogue, theme, music, gameplay, city design, etc!)
AC2: Soundtrack! (Maybe because i was 14 when it came out, they say the music you like at 13-15 becomes to most nostalgic lol)
Valhalla: Stealth variety (specifically how the variation shows itself if you invest some time into it: Could be lethal or ghosting)
Mirage: Agreed that its the stealth! Not just solid mechanically but FUN! So much that it got me from just playing AC to content creation lol

AC: For the time, it was really well done in recreating the cities as historically accurate as possible
AC II: Besides Ezio, I would go with Venice
AC: Brotherhood: Recruiting Assassins, sending them on missions and let them help you kill enemies
    AC: Revelations: Yusuf
AC III: The variety of landscapes
    AC Liberation: The bayou
AC IV: Black Flag: Yeah, I could say being a pirate as a whole but that's pretty much a given, so I will just say shanties
AC Freedom Cry: Freeing the slaves and trying to do it as stealthy as possible
AC Rogue: Well, uh, you can play as a Templar (not a bad game though)
AC Unity: Really nice progression of Arno. Feels very weak early on but by progressing you actually feel getting stronger and at the end nobody can stop Arno
    AC Syndicate: Yeah, WW I
AC Origins: Also has Ancient/Classical-era Rome in it
    AC Odyssey: Greek mythology
    AC Valhallla: The fighting
    AC Mirage: Baghdad is stunning!
Anyways, I'm surprised you didn't know that Monteriggioni is a real life location, even though you visit modern day Monteriggioni in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

Honestly I think that the cult of cosmos is really unappreciated, every time I felt lost or didin't want to do the main story I could always try to solve some of the clues and try to go on an assasination mission,*SPOILER* also I think I that the concept of Aspasia being the head of the cult was a good Idea, with a really absolutely horribly done execution. Just make her evil, non romancable, with less obvious clues, a better motive and give her an artifact for an epic boss fight and you've got an alright final cultist to complete the final experience.

  • @Kimkong2

Origins' open world is the most alive of any AC yet. Every NPC including animals had schedules and was also dynamic in how they react to eachother and the environment. Even enemy convoys actually transport loot throughout the open world and aren't just static and the fact that there's a dynamic predator and prey mechanic for animals. Guards also recated to dead bodies by carrying them away, had guard schedules and just seemed like they live in the world. The only issue was that the player character had no dynamic way to interact with these systems besides traverse and attack. It felt like im watching a livining/breathing world but was limited when it comes to how i can interact with it, mostly because UBI are so afraid of grounding mechanics in their games, they never want to make you feel like you exist in the world, but on it. This game would have benefited so much from light survival and interaction mechanics that had you need to actually engage with all the systems in the open world.

  • @Kimkong2
    @Kimkong2 2 часа назад

UBI really have everything they need to make the best AC game ever! This is the same for even Farcy, many of their games have mechanics that if most were added into a single game, it would elevate it to legendary status. But their development method of splitting their workforce into teams that work on different games, almost in the same development cycle, really hinders this. This is why even if they have a number of games released more consistently, none of them borrow the things that worked in previous entries and because the creativity is split and rushed, the innovation is very limited.
I understand from a business perspective why they do it, but every now and then they should consolidate everything into a single masterpiece game, whose success they can ride on for the next decade while smaller teams make seperate smaller entries and spinoffs.
