HOW TO MAKE AN OKLAHOMA ONION BURGER
    ______________________________________________________________
    WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
    - 2 - 4oz balls of ground beef (or as many as you need)
    - 1 White Onion - Sliced SUPER thin
    - Sliced dill pickles
    - Postal Barbecue Mad Cow Rub
    - American Style Cheese
    - 2 Brioche Buns (or as many as you need)
    - Mayo (optional)
    STEP #1
To prepare your Oklahoma Onion Burgers, begin by slicing your onions as thin as you can - this will help during the fast cooking process. Next slice your pickles if needed and form your ground beef into 4oz balls. Once everything has been prepared and you are ready to cook, turn on your griddle and let it preheat for a few minutes. We are looking for a griddle temperature around 400F-450F to help get a nice crust on the burgers.
    SETP #2
With your Griddle heated, place your balls of beef on the griddle and press them down just slightly so that you can place your onions on top easily. Next place about half of an onion worth of your thinly sliced onions onto the ground beef before smashing them down on the griddle until they are as thin you prefer. Next, add the burger seasoning of your choice and let them cook for a few minutes until the bottom has formed a nice brown crust.
    Step #3
After a couple of minutes your burgers should have a nice crust formed. At this point, flip the burgers and apply your American style cheese so that the cheese begins to melt. Also, place the bottom of your bun on to the cheese so that it steams the bun as it cooks the onions. Also toast the top bun if you prefer. After another few minutes, your onions will be cooked and even caramelized a bit. At this point, remove the burgers from the griddle and add on your top bun. Serve to your guests with a side of pickles and mustard as well as any sauce you might like.
    That's it..

Made these two days ago. Sliced my onions on a mandolin. Instead of using pickles mayonnaise mustard I used like a big Mac sauce and they were awesome. Yours looked wonderful!

I made these like two days ago on my flat top. I sliced my onions on a mandolin because there is no way I can slice as precisely as you do lol. They were so thin you could see through them. I steamed my buns over the burgers like you did but I didn’t toast my top bun. I like your idea of steaming the heel and toasting the top better. Instead of using mayonnaise and mustard and pickles I used like a big Mac sauce to top them and they were awesome! Thank you for the wonderful ideas for this recipe

Everything about that burger tells me it would taste like a White Castle slider (burger cooked in onion on a bun with pickle... mustard is optional). I really need to try this!

The “Great Depression” started 1929 and played out through the 1930
    s. Much of the 20’s was considered the “roaring 20s.’’ Money was not “tight.” You have a great tone and your burgers look awesome. Just need to review your history.
