This movie is brilliant! Just when you think you have it figured out, there's that big twist, and it leaves you reeling. We didn't know anything about this movie when we decided to watch it, thinking it would be a movie revolving around underground fighting... We couldn't have been more wrong lol! Such a memorable and exceptional movie! 10 out of 10!
YOU BOTH DIDN'T NOTICE the several FILM FRAME FLASHES inserted in at the beginning scenes of the movie. They are like those that Tyler added to the movies in the Theater booth. They were actually quick shots of Tyler before he'd even met him on the plane. They were inserted as a HINT to show that Tyler was ALREADY in his mind! They are hardly noticeable but if you freeze the video, you can see that they are shots of Tyler
The luggage incident at the airport was his mental alibi while "Tyler" stole a car and blew up his apartment. Complete dissociation from reality. There was no need to resolve it (at least to him).
Oxygen in a pure form does actually get you high, look it up. We naturally only breathe like 8-16% oxygen each breath we take, the air has a lot of other gasses that we inhle and exhale but dont use, such as nitrogen, hydrogen, pollutants, and many other gasses.

If you watch anything a second time, this is the one. The interactions with Marla play completely different after you know the ending, and there are a few small clues to suggest that Marla isn't actually real either, that she's just a tumor in his brain that he starts talking to, making him not sleep, and eventually making him crazy. This movie is VERY deep. It was based on a book, too.

This film is good to rewatch. There are numerous subliminal images throughout the movie, including several shots of Tyler before he is introduced.
Tyler appeared slowly in his mind u can see the flashes of Tyler throughout the beginning

Marla's real. She interacts with the guys who pull her off the bus and basically carry her to Tyler.
