@@nigelmitchell351 Thanks for the positive comment. I only know how to anneal copper when i’m in work and can use oxy acetylene. I don’t know how to do it at home 🤷♂️
@@nigelmitchell351 I’ll remember that 😎 In work, i light only the acetylene on the torch and cover the item in the black soot the flame produces. I then light the torch and heat the item until the soot burns off. When the soot burns off, it’s reached the correct temperature to anneal. I’ll remember your method for at home annealing 👍 No videos for the next couple of weeks as i’ve injured my knee. When i come back it’ll be servicing my sons 2017 Renault Megane. Cheers Sandy 👍
I know the pain of those filter housing, cross thread on that and its good night, on my citreon c3 1.4 hdi mk2 i service it every 6k miles something ive always done on cars, i take the battery out of the 1.4 hdi to gain better access, as the gap is a nightmare, ive seen your vids on the c3 mk2 1.4 hdi and i found them good and simple to the point, thanks
Thanks for the positive comment 👍 Good idea, taking out the battery for better access 😎 That filter housing was properly creamed up. I thought the plastic nut was going to shear off 🙄 How do you find the C3? We’ve got two in the family and they tend to be ok.
Great video can you please tell me about the tools you use for the oil filter my wrench pretty small. I don't know what shouod i buy to get the job done.
Good video mate, I like your garage setup, looks like it's home made. Maybe a good idea to give us all a tour and tell us how you built it.... if that's not too 'twitchy'...lol
Thanks for the positive comment 👍 Yep, home made over a couple of years 😂 it’s holding up well 👍 I thought the nut was going to shear off the end of the filter housing 😱
Hey another plastic oil filter like the Skoda Yeti, except in a far more cramped engine bay and covered by the coolant fluid tube, or it looked like it anyway. I understand your initial hesitation. Too much force and you'll have to order a new one, and can't start the engine until it arrives. Are they easy to obtain at least? If a future vehicle of mine has one like this might be worth ordering one ahead of time. Just for peace of mind :) T-minus ~4000KM before I change the oil on my Ford Ka myself! For which I will be referencing your video before I do :)
The filter housings are common and under £15 on eBay 👍 The issue is, if they bind up on the threads the plastic nut end can snap off. You may end up destroying it, in order to get it off. Oil change in the summer for your Ka 🥳
@@mytube5340 Thanks for the compliment 👍 The short answer is.. i don’t know 🤷♂️ If it was me i would try and bleed them normally, then take it on a test drive and see what happens 😂 I know that on some cars after replacing the abs unit you have to use a scan tool to bleed the abs. I’m unsure if this is required on the Picasso. Sorry i’m of no help whatsoever 🤷♂️ Sandy.
My old Subaru had the filter as the sump plug if memory serves. Very easy to change the oil
@@russc788 I’ve not seen that before… may have to googly that 👍

@@gilberesrepairsLiking your videos Gilbere. You don't need to buy new copper washers, you just need to anneal the original .

Hello, thanks for the question.
You will need a 21mm socket for the sump plug and a 27mm socket for the oil filter housing 👍
Sandy.
Wunderfull job
Thanks
Thanks 🙏
Thanks again mate
Not a problem sir 👍
I’m gonna fit a towbar on the Picasso soon. I’ll record that aswell 👍
