Great discussion! You brought up interesting points with Star Wars. Those movies were made for the sake of profit rather than for creating art, at least for any Star Wars movie not part of the original trilogy. The original movies are good, even on their own. Unfortunately, greed has tainted the IP a bit with the onslaught of new movies and TV shows, so it leaves many with a sour taste in their mouths.
Also found the discussion around ratings interesting. At the end of the day, I feel like ratings don't matter too much because they're arbitrary. Nowadays, I'm more careful, for a lack of a better term, when it comes to doling out 5 stars to certain movies. A movie like Yi Yi is one I gave 5 stars because I loved it for its message and profundity as well as its filmmaking. Basically, if a movie makes me feel giddy about film in general, it'll probably get a 5 or at least 4.5 from me.

Enjoyed the discussion! Would love to hear your take on "Evil does not exist" by Hamaguchi, specially through the filter of thinking about the intention behind a movie and the importance of a title, which you talked about here in this video
