To me, this song epitomizes Power Metal: powerful vocals, anthemic and soaring chorus, a triumphant and glorious feeling, the speed and impressive musicianship. This is a Helloween and a Power Metal classic.

You just heard the anthem of power metal. I want to point out that Michael Kiske recorded that album when he was only 18 years old. Truly amazing.

Great reaction! This is the anthem of Power Metal! Helloween are the 'founders' of Power Metal. This song was a long dream for me to play on drums! I'm 14 and it took me so much boring double bass endurance practice. It was so much harder to get it recorded than Dragonforce TTFAF. Ingo R.I.P. created such legendary drum parts🤘🤘🤘

You can go back and forth between their debut (the Helloween ep)and their Keeper II (which Eagle's Fly Free is from).I suggest listening next to Victim Of Fate from their ep

Welcome to the world of Helloween, my friend.
It got my attention that you mentioned the bass lines here. Well, Helloween’s bassist is one of their original members, his name is Markus Grosskopf. He’s an amazing player and a composer, frequently overlooked by the Helloween fanboys as well. We all take this guy for granted and he’s a treasure. Steve Harris on steroids, basically. It’s a very true but goofy reference because one of the guitarists had said in the late 80’s that Helloween themselves are like Iron Maiden on steroids. I would add - Iron Maiden without the many fillers and the bravado
For example Markus recorded this song on a fretless bass. I am not sure if not the entire album, but for the particular song I’m absolutely positive. Amazing musicianship all over heir discography

This album features a different singer Michael Kiske. This is good Helloween song. For an epic song check out the full 13 min song Halloween. Others to do featuring Kiske - I'm Alive, Future World and A Tale That Wasn't Right for a ballad.

I am alive is the 1st song from Keeper 1. A 1st song by the new singer (Kiske) and the 1st template to power metal..
    Love Helloween. Regards from Malaysia

Certainly one of my favorites, and a lot of people's favorites, I think that's why the LoveBites cover was so popular. I want Out is another of my favorites as well. Good choices.

Good morning from London, Helloween are Metal gods. This song is simply incredible, but the bass solo for me after the excellent twin guitars was epic. Check out Helloween and their song Sole Survivor from their Master of the Rings albums: ruclips.net/video/rhxG1ik0dwI/видео.html . Thanks for sharing, have a great day.

Thanks for the reaction. Young Michael Kiske is one of the best singers in the metal world. He was often compared to Bruce Dickinson and not infrequently he won the comparison. In the Keeper albums there is also the title track Keeper Of The Seven Keys and Halloween. Both songs and a third song with singer Andi Deris in a later album (King For A 1000 Years) are 13 minutes long.
