Arrival is one of my favorite Sci-Fi films of all time. Its amazing it was your first wow moment in a movie because mine was the sixth sense a similar movie.
Great video on the power of cinema. I remember 'Inglorious Basterds' as the first film where I was suddenly aware of the different aspects of cinema all coming together so perfectly and admiring each of them in turn more consciously sitting in the movie theatre. It didn't make me want to get into filmmaking but it was definitely a trigger for taking more of a deeper interest into becoming a cinephile in the same way that you described. But a year later in 2010 I saw a film called 'The American' and was instantly inspired to start writing multiple scripts for genre and art house films.
Outstanding video. I fell in love with storytelling at a young age. I pursued that in writing, and wanted to be an author. But I had really been in love with storytelling through film the whole time. I want to pursue filmmaking so bad, but I don’t even know where to start. I love your videos, so far they have been a huge help in my process, and I would love to continue this filmmaking journey with you! Have a great day.
