One of my favorite albums this year, each song has its place here making the whole thing an addictive sound that I just can’t stop listening to. My favorites here are Closet, Woohoo, and Backstairs Breathing
I think their genre should be called "liminal rock". It has that 90s nostalgia vibe yet doesn't hail from that time period. Kind of like a misplaced piece of art in the museum that is time. At least for me, it sounds like this song is from 1997 or 98 but nope. 2022. IM HERE FOR IT BABY
I have been discovering new music every month but this.. THIS! I have been listening this álbum from the beggining to the end since 3 months... I dont know why... The game between the female and male vocals... The up and down shoegaze scrathing metal guitars all very rare and well equilibrated with that touch of a nostalgic feeling I NEEDED THIS love this new band so much! Greetings from México
And the sound is spot on!! not too modern and polished but not too dirty and you miss the preformance Sounds more like the 90's -2000's and its just one of many things that makes this album priceless
I was listening to Deftones, when the song finished the radio based on them started and the song Clodet appeared, i got quickly interested on the song so i instantly saved it playlist, a few days ago decided to listen to the entire album and it became an instant favorite

Never really thought about the Deftones sounding stuff like in Closet. I love how they can have more catchy hooks, and then the next song will be heavy as hell. I guess it helps that the album is mostly in Drop B. I found this album last summer, and it blew me away. Probably listened to it all the last month of summer. Discovered these guys and also Superheaven around the same time, but they're more grungy than shoegaze
Dude an amazing album an band they give me smashing pumpkin vibes along with the deftones sound to but here very good bro an l got three bands an albums for you to listen an react to disturbed divisive they did an awesome job on it my second band an my second album an band is never back down downfall there my favorite new metal an metal core bands out there an the third album is avoid cult mentality there pop metal metal core fantastic band an album to highly recommend you check them out an react to them cause I love seeing you do the Album reactions brother
Fleshwater is just a band with different genre's mixed in one there not one genre so I don't get why people are fighting over yea there not shoegaze & this and that ugh just enjoy the music dude.
But they just have reverb on their guitars None of these songs even fall slightly in the tradition of a band like mbv or slowdive. This is emo or post hardcore, with pretty clear alt metal, post metal, metal core, space rock and even some pop punk influences. None of those have the indie influenced sound that defined shoegaze. I'm only bringing it up because there actually doesn't seem to be an argument about it at all Calling this shoegaze is like calling Primus math rock. Sure, there are adjacent traits but it completely disregards the histories behind the sounds that led to the creation of the music It's not a confrontation. It's fine to have a conversation around the music you like, don't take it personally.

Something about it takes me back to my childhood but also relates to my adulthood. Hard to put into words.
the two vocalists and how they can harmonize almost makes fleshwater feel like a heavier/shoegazier version of Pity Sex

Dude this album was so good that it converted me from rap to rock and metal. Love Fleshwater so much and i cant wait for their next project.
