VAP-61 1/66 to 7/69 my handle in the squadron is Casual. PH2 flight line, usually team leader for the photo line crew after I made PH3. Thanks for bringing back all the great memories of Thailand and especially for showing Charlie. I best not write names but me and two other Vappers were the first ones to hire Char Lee and after that det he took care of VAP for a long time.
@@quiversandcowls5033 My Dad Knew JJ Zavocky. They both lived in the BOQ on Guam and were good friends. My Dad was a Flight Surgeon attached to NAS Agana. He flew with VAP-61 and VW-1. JJ was from Parma Ohio. We’re working on getting an expedition going to look for JJ’s RA-3B.
Spent several months in 1964 with USAF (Support of F-102's) at Don Mueang Airport when Navy landed several of these aircraft. Have photos can't figure how to attach.
Good job Harry! Thank you for this memory from my sister squadron.

I remember Char Lee. He was great and treated all of us well. Big memory is the CO getting the A3 stuck in soft asphalt of the taxi way. 🤔
My Father was in VAP61 from 1966-1970 , PHC George W Cloer and we were stationed with him on Guam and loved the place
I was TAD to VAP-61 from VAP-62 in 1969. I spent time on Guam, Danang and Bangkok.
I was in VAP-61 in 67 and 68. Dets to Cubi Pt, Danang, and Bangkok. Lots of memories.
Hi did you know CDR Jacobs, LTJG Zavocky or AD Boisclaire?
