After 3 Fridays straight of trying to go to the drag races we finally make it out there to get some passes in with the Turbo Ls ( Junkyard 4.8 4l80e) Swapped 1989 Ford Mustang Foxbody Notchback!

Set fuel pressure at 60lbs, not 43.5...yank the boost controller and slap in a stronger spring with an air pressure regulator until you get a handle on the tune up. Chuck the surge tank its a band aid at best. A 450 in the stock tank and a bulkhead fitting in stock tank going to an inline auxiliary pump coming on under boost and you wont have so many teething issues. You don't have a wastegate problem....you have a controller problem.
It definitely has some gremlins. Might be dyno time. Get it sorted in a controlled environment. Minimize the risk of hurting the motor.
Good to see the car at the track making continuous progress with it!! Everything is all about fine tuning once you hit the track for the first time! Super pumped to see this car ripping it more!
Also battling trans cooling with a similar combo. Terminator x fb group pointed me toward at the trucool 40k cooler which I'll be installing next week. At 220 degrees your fluid loses viscosity and you're getting closer to killing the trans.

Trevor your fuel pressure should be going up in relation to boost not down. As you need to overcome the pressure differential in the manifold. Yours seem to not be changing like its not being boost referenced
Seems like you need a little more converter
Current one is 32-3500 stall

A big cooler and a converter that will flash to 3800 plus should get the car launching half way decent From there you can fine tune everything.If the fluid looks good ,I would play with the transmission adjustment as per Transgo .Maybe check the trans pressures Hold off on the transbrake until the car is able to flash the converter and run down the track cleanly without any problems.
Just sump the tank and get rid of all the extra stuff. Kinda the tried and true method.

Or Imagine how much better something else could be of you sunk the cash into it instead of a new build.
Most likely need to mess with the boost controller PID settings to get it in check and correct boost properly. Using Holley’s help page in terminator is VERY useful. It’ll take a few attempts to get it correct. And once this 60’ right, it’ll be a pretty solid et 👌🏼 good luck man!
When are you running the Civic again?

Have you checked for boost leaks? smoke test the system from turbo intake all the way through.
Change the gears in the rear, will improve the 60ft and keep down the boost creep a touch and if that don’t work it needs another wastegate.
Might be the mac valve or just a simple hole in the line that goes to the top of the dome......a line to close to an exhaust pipe can do that
It will be cool if you upgrade this car and with time it becomes much faster.
Yeah you need a rebuild and trans brake in that trans. I have a powerglide in mine. Car should run high 9's on 10#'s off foot brake. Something isn't right it doesn't sound right?
I have also had fun tryin to get a hold on boost control by my ECU and I've been having nearly exactly the same issue, controller does nothing until ~40%, then 55%dc gives me somewhere between 0.8 and 1 bar of boost (inconsistently,but there abouts) and then 60% gives me 1.8bar and run into boost cut lol. I've quit trying that route now as it's inconsistent and have gone to a good old washer jet tpiece and now I'm holding 1 bar pretty much until 5500, then it drops to around 0.85 until the rev limit 7k. I'm happy with it now though,and it didn't cost anything lol

And low horse power like the fox definitely need a lower rear gear mybe a 456 or 488 would help a bunch in 60 foot but should turn enough rpm to run the quarter

Shorter rear gear man. It’s shifting into 3rd way too far down the track. Just my opinion

Your trying to build boost for way too long, you need to understand that your sitting ao that limiter while its in a gear you know like in the transmission
Honestly if you want to get really fast get a wrecked coyote mustang or f150 and swap it into there with the turbo
not seen no content in a few weeks youtube is crap
Love the content but this car is super slow for all the work that was done to it and for having that big of a turbo.
Just needs fine tuning, its so hard not to compare a build like this with something cleetus would build except the budgets are probably 100k apart and that’s probably being conservative
@@NZDIRT I agree needs better tuning. Sloppy mechanics does this on the cheap and would be in the 9s.
