Believe me I know all about the rear cooling system blowing up because it happened to me when I used to live in my van! I got it fixed then I had another cooling crisis when I was in a city I wasn't used to working in and I just made it into a truck stop and then it basically seems like the front end of my van exploded. Coolant and fumes and whatnot was pouring out of the engine in a huge plume of smoke. I pulled in and this one cool calm and collected Good Samaritan dude kind of motioned me to pull over towards him. I did then he took a look under the hood and discovered I had multiple problems. LOL he basically with very primitive tools, duct tape, and zip ties was able to MacGyver my cooling hoses, one of which had a huge bulge in it, and this big pipe thing that had come loose from its bolts, well enough so that I could make it home. He did a really great job. Absolutely zero leaks. And the van had never ran cooler. (One hose was horribly kinked and close to something hot in the engine) I did get the hoses and other things fixed the next morning. I hate cooling problems.

That was a wicked story… Yeah cooling issues are a real pain… And when you rely on your vehicle so much they hurt even more LOL

I finally did it thank you my friend. Now I got to find out why water isn't flowing through my radiator I don't know if it's a bad water pump or bad radiator.

Thought I blew a head gasket.what with all the coolant in the tailpipe area.......but it was the rear heater connection. Jumpered in back for now and will do your bypass in a few days. Thanks for the tip.

Yep. When you need your van to run, you need it to run. I have bypassed heater cores so many times in my life I can't can't count the times anymore. "Gotta get 'er werking for now!!!" right?

Yes, be careful. Do not remove that cap when the motor is hot. I found that out the hard way.

Thanks for the great video on bypass. Have to ask where and what brush guard did you find to put on the Caravan? And how bad was the install. I have a husband that runs into Deer, Small trees across the road, etc. Help

Actually I think that came off a Chevy S 10 pick up truck and I made the brackets to put it on my van… I have hit a few deer and other assorted things and it definitely saved my front end… Check out scrap yards for Chevy S 10 and Ford rangers… The old Rangers
