Trust the process. It would grow. Amla, rosemary, clove and onion juice would help thicken your hair - with time you can look into the treatments. I have microlocs with no grid - did them myself. It's been 27 months and I maintain them myself. They are my babies 😊
Thank you so much! I'll definitely be trying your recommendations. I'm here for thicker hair! I appreciate you sharing this. Trusting the process..whew! looking forward to the end result. How do you recommend using the rosemary and clove?
You got microlocs since sisterlocks have a specific grid and the installers are certified. Look up braiding and banding for your upcoming washes. Enjoy your microlocs!
Hair looks great good decision. You have micro locs be careful saying you have Sister locs as it’s a certified branded system you don’t wanna have them ladies coming for you. Look forward to watching your journey. AND Laura your I/We subscribers need a loc count, that’s a basic requirement😆🇬🇧
Hey girl! I've been waiting for this video to drop and love the new look on you😊 I've been feeling the same way about my locs and seriously considered microlocs. I just don't feel like combing these out😫 I think I'm going to start with the challenge of just letting my "sparkles" grow out and not coloring more than a couple times a year. Looking forward to following you on this journey!
I would highly recommend it! Especially if you've been thinking about it for a while. Our loc journeys were about the same length, I'm loving the versatility with the smaller size. Do you have any specific reservations about making the transition?
This is my biggest dilemma right now, I'm 4 years locd now and I love my hair but I know it's unhealthy and I need to restart. Someday I'll have enough courage to restart
Happy New Year! I heard you mention time a lot. The Sisterloc/microloc reties have to be done often and the retightening appointments are lengthy. Have you had your first one yet? I combed out my locs over a period of months because as you know it’s tedious. I almost gave up a few times but my daughter was my cheerleader/support. I would wash weekly and mix the loose hair with the locs into a ponytail or cornrows/flat twists. I’m finally done and scheduled to get a good trim next week. I don’t notice faster hair growth with locs. I just think a lot of loc wearers have more length retention as they are not doing as much mechanical damage to their ends. Also the shed hair makes up a lot of the length. Best wishes on your new loc journey!
Happy New year! Yes and Yes- time was definitely a concern that I had. Retightenings are certainly more frequent, I initially was nervous about it but it's been going well so far. I've had two so far :) Time flies! (I'm able to get work done while at the appointment). Awww- good for you for combing out your locs. It’s definitely a process that requires a lot of patience and dedication. How did the trim go? How is your hair currently? I agree with your point about length retention. When my hair is not locd, I end up doing too much which leads to my strands breaking. Thank you for the wishes. Wishing you a healthy hair journey as you enjoy your loose natural hair :)
This was a great decision! I’m installing 2 strand twist microlocs. Like you I wasn’t getting the fullness I wanted with the larger locs. I’m still not finished but so far I counted about 257. I’m expecting to have 300 and something and I hope its not closer to or over 400 😅 although I absolutely love the fullness of the higher numbers. I’m kinda nervous about retieing my hair but I’m determined to find a good routine. Maybe dividing into 4-6 sections and doing one section a day. I have a 3 way mirror and a height adjustable desk. Right now I have absolutely no desire to let someone else do my hair. I haven’t been to a salon for anything in years due to unprofessionalism and outrageous prices. I loved your hair before and was subscribed a long time ago. I don’t know what happened but I happened to find you looking at someone else’s video and was ecstatic to see that you made the same decision on smaller locs. I’m excited to find someone on a similar journey about the same time as me and I look forward to watching your beauties prosper into their uniqueness 🥰
Thank you so much! The fullness is definitely there in my locs currently. Congrats on installing your microlocs! That's amazing that you're able to do so. I'm not sure how many I have but I'm Sure I'm up there in number. Great suggestion with dividing the sections and using a 3 way mirror- it's about time I finally get one of those. I feel you on having no desire for someone to do your hair, I just came around to it after YEARS. AWWWW Thank you so much for watching along the journey, excited that we are walking through this together. Lots to learn but will be beautiful! Your hair will flourish very well. Share tips as you come across them :)
Laura!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR 😅 Hi 🌸 👋🏽 It's your customer Joy 😊 you know I have Sisterlocks ✨️ celebrated my 4 year lockaversary in December... CONGRATULATIONS 🎉 🎊 on your new Hair journey... your hair looks Fabulous... have you logged into the Sisterlocks website to search for a Certified Sisterlocks loctician in your area?🤔 That's a good place to start... they will be able to look at your hair and provide feedback regarding your locs... Will you continue selling your products? You know I love them!!! So good to see you... hope your family is doing well and your holidays were Happy... Take care my friend 🤗
Ahh! Hey Joy! Happy March! Happy Four year (plus some months) anniversary! I appreciate you congratulating me. How have you been liking your Sisterlocks? Thank you so much for you kinds words, I took your suggestion and looked at the website..after calling a few locticians, I found one :) I definitely will continue selling Faida Naturals products, I so appreciate your support. Good to read from you. Hope you and the family are equally doing well. Love reading notes from you:)
I personally didn't, I had them combed out but there are people who decide to cut off their locs and start over. You could also let your new growth grow out and not get retwists and start the Sisterlocks on the new growth after the ends have been cut off. The Loctician installing would be able to let you know how long hour hair would need to be. Hope this helps!
Thank you for this, im 2 months in but my hair is very dry🥲. Ive been told not use an products and wash every six weeks. Any tips to help with the dryness ❤?
You're so welcome! I've been using rose water to keep my hair hydrated. My Loctician also introduced my to aloe vera and peppermint (mixed in a spray bottle). Hope this helps! I was told not to put any products as well but I need something to keep my hair from getting brittle.
It really doesn’t matter no one can tell the difference I installed 225 plaits that turned into locs after one year 4 years a lot of people ask me do I have sisterlocs sisterlocs are overrated & overpriced in my opinion locs is locs
@@fatimamanneh9432nothing wrong with knowing the correct term. Saying sisterlocks are over rated is an opinion but her clarifying that those are micro locs is a FACT

I'm thinking of doing the same even tho I am almost 3 years in my 2nd set of interlocking microlocs

Do I have to cut my locs before growing my hair again to do the sister locs?

No way! I love it Laura. You look great. :) It's not too hard to do your own retie either. Also, your new home looks nice! :)
Why wouldn’t you cut BEFORE combing out? A lot less work
It doesn't look like you have the 400 locs to be in the sisterlocks range so must be a different grid. I didn't know could be as low as 200s
You can find a certified Sisterlock technician to correct your grid and maintain your locs
Thank you so much for being a resource! 🙏❤️
Why is the grid so important? Especially if you’re tightening yourself??
I have sisterlocs, my 3yr locaversary is 3/21/24
YAY!!! happy 3 year locaversary! Please share tips (if you're willing). So much to learn :)
You most likely have micro locks. Sisterlocks have a certain grid, tools, etc. The person installing them must be certified to do Sisterlocks
Appreciate this feedback! So much to learn but this is helpful.
