Duke Nukem 3D (100%) Walkthrough (E1L1: Hollywood Holocaust)

- A Walkthrough of E1L1 of Duke Nukem 3D (Hollywood Holocaust) on the Come Get Some difficulty for the PC. This is the 20th Anniversary World Tour and is played through Steam. 100% kills and 100% secrets.
Hollywood Holocaust is the first level of L.A. Meltdown in Duke Nukem 3D. Although the player can begin on any episode, this is typically the episode (and level) they begin on.
After ejecting from his shot skycar, Duke Nukem lands on the roof of a building, and then drops down to the alien-infested street below.
The main feature of this level is the adult cinema. It can be entered either through a fire escape which leads into the one large cinema screen in the building, or by blowing a hole in the ticket office at the front of the building. The cinema contains one cinema screen, a lobby, some toilets, an arcade and a projection room.

I remember when this game was new and every little bit of what they introduced was wild. Destructible walls, the ship crashing, even the mirror was revolutionary. Had a lot of that in my own Build maps.

I like this guy. I just used his Doom walkthrough to find all the secrets, he doesn't ramble on and on & gets straight to the point. I dont feel like I'm just watching some dude play a game, but playing it with him. His personality makes it even better. Good work, man.

I thought it WD be fast paced game . I don't even know we're to go . The windows on ground I can't get threw yet climb up a wall and a invisible window u can ? . I always thought this WD be hard core fast paced shooting fun .I remember playing a bit as a kid . But this is like u have to look and think

This doesn’t have anything to do with the current video, but I just wanted to let you know that when I bought Half-Life on PC a few years ago, I initially hated it and didn’t understand the appeal of the game.
Watching your Half-Life walkthrough was the first time I have ever experienced a complete 180 of my opinion on a game. Seeing it from the perspective of someone who had true admiration for every aspect of the game’s design was mind-blowing. I love Half-Life now, and I attribute that entirely to you. Thanks BigMac!
Blooey Same here. Hated HL1 from beginning of 'Surface Tension'. Well, not anymore! One of my fav chapters now and playing through on the Difficult difficulty. :)
I never knew about that Holo Duke in the vent shaft. It's also important to say about the ticket booth, that you have to shoot the rocket through the window to blow up the wall. If you try to shoot it from the outside, it won't blow up. You took an unussual route. Normaly you shouldn't be able to use the Jet Pack to get up on the bridge like that. But we can also conisder that as an oversight in the level design, because if you get the Jet Pack from the secret early in the level, you can skip pretty much half of the level. I always go the intended way even if I have the Jet Pack, because the way you did it seems to me like an unneccessary backtracking. You don't have to jump on the palm tree to get inside that secret, you can just use the Jet Pack, if you already have it. About the Kills in this game - I'm pretty sure there are levels where you won't be able to get 100% Kills, because some enemies won't spawn. And about the fifth episode - get ready, 'cause it's hard as nails since the first level.
Yeah, I changed up the route a little bit, just to show off the mechanics and such. It was either that, or I copy LightningBoltForever's route, as his routes in all the levels are actually logically consistent. He really did his homework, but I've only watched up to the end of Episode 1. And I can't wait for the 5th episode, I love myself a good challenging game.
Plus right next to the Arcade, it was a non-secret for the items there.
After Doom , duke nukem? Very nice.
I cannot stress enough how I appreciate that I'm able to watch these walkthroughs again. Something that I sometimes thought is not longer possible, now it became a reality. It was worth the wait.
And what the heck. I never heard about the 5th episode of DN3D! I can't wait to see it.

Duke Nukem got me into PC gaming when I was about... 9-10 years old? Truly a masterpiece of its time and still a very unique and refreshing game to play. Currently playing Half-Life but will dust of the Duke shortly. So many memories!
Duke3D is truly an amazing game. One of the best shooters of the 90s.

Vegetaplays map26 is easy since there are so many megaspheres and a couple invulnerabilities. However, map27 I expect will be a true test of BMDs skill. Mostly because of the cyberdemon trap in that level.

Great to have you back! Thanks to your videos I managed to get through the tricky stuff in DOOM a couple of years ago. I wasn't even aware of the DOOM community and all the other good players who I've seen since discovering your walk-throughs.

Amazing video BigMacDavis, I was really expecting DN3D since the very first time you mentioned it. Seeing you care a lot for detail as always, specially those numbers at walls or "secrets" which dont even count is great. I sure enjoy this level myself. Lol the troopers sure are good at choking, lmfao. That guy in the ticket booth sure didn't care to serve you, but luckily Duke Nukem can take care of himself. The easter eggs are nice to have in this level. I didn't realize the pipe bomb secret until now. I didn't realize the crack in the area with the trapped babe until now. The magazines are nice, the movie theater is nice, and the arcade is nice too. Yeah someone has been watching too much tv, lol. Lots of weapons in this level, very nice. Now I know the secret lift to the armor secret. You thoroughly beat this level, and that's amazing. Excellent job as usual buddy. I enjoyed your video of this level. As usual, I liked the video, and made a well constructed comment. :)

Have you ever played Zone 300? It's a Doom 2 megawad, and I enjoy it myself. It would be awesome to see you do a walkthrough of it one day. My only gripe about it is Map20 with the narrow ledge walking. I did a Let's Play of it back in 2015.

I didn't even know Doom games like TNT, Plutonia and Scythe existed. Now I've downloaded them and use ZDoom to play them. Hey I've never heard more amazing commentary on game walkthrough! :) Everything explained soo good! Thanks for the videos! I have one remark thou, about the cameras. They show places in real time, it was amazing when I first played the game, still is. However they show not only areas ahead in the level, often they show what has happened when you flipped a switch somewhere that opened the door in another area. Its part of the amazing puzzles in the game. So always worth to check the cameras :)

16:00 there is an fire extinguisher behind that door. To have ready pipebombs is right. But Troopers begin to shoot and hit that thing, and it blows...
a) you can just pull back and left to avoid damage;
b) or, open the door _without_ looking in and roll in pipebomb, close the door and BOOM.
Also, you can just jump onto that "movie box" (left corner and middle) and it opens the wall (always), but save atomic health for later. Not taking atomic health opens the wall, but jumping on the "box".
Also if i remember correctly, if Captain falls down (from height) dead and squishes, it won't rise again. And instead of wasting even pistol bullets when they r' choking, Duke can just punch their bloody... faces? with Mighty Boot.

Wow. That 867-5309 easteregg actually brings back memories. I recorded the song with a little tape recorder from the radio at age 13 when it was in the german charts back then. But i never learned about the artist because german radio won't tell you what's playing. So i never found out until now. And i lost the tape decades ago, of course. You are so awesome 😚
