Nudity, cussing, badass guns, huge explosions, tons of blood, tons of jokes, and somewhat-realistic maps are why this was me & my friends favorite game in ~1997
back in the day this was the best game ever made.
Lumpy Mango Shadow Warrior is free on Steam :)
Lumpy Mango Buy? You mean download.
Lumpy Mango It's completely free. It's not a sale.
It's still is, what are you talking about?
Still is a least for me amazing gameplay
"don't have time to play with myself" haha classic
Or Duke reacting every time you walk him up to a urinal! :D
That'll be a good line to use when your in a hurry to get somewhere just look at your watch "hmmm...I don't have time to play with myself"
One of the best first person shooters ever in my opinion. :D
***** I've got several questions, all about your name.
***** the main question has to be...why?
***** Why is your name so awesome.
Hail to the King, Baby.
definetly
Played DN3D for the first time when I was only 7 years old - had nightmares about the flying brains for years but it was hella worth it 😂
Such a fantastic game!
Same here, it's the damned sounds they make! 😁 Used cheats to conquer my fears. 😂
Flying brains? Where
Even i played when i was 7 or 8 yrs old
@@darshannn26 nobody asked u
Same bro 😅
The first level must be the most well known single level in all of gaming.
Not sure I'd go that far. There were a lot of memorable games from that era.
Nar.. I remember it but it was so long ago and it’s not really played that much anymore because it hasn’t aged so well.. compare it to green hill zone off sonic or the N sane beach of crash bandicoot.. I’m sure more people will know what your talking about.
Nah. That title would go to DOOM's E1M1.
Super Mario bro’s 1-1
Doom's E1M1 is a better candidate
I’m 36, and still today after pee I say “aaah.. much better!” . it’s almost a tic. it’s crazy. I never forget you duke, what a badass
is that real duke 3d awsome
Damn. The memories.
Was playing this in year 97, or 98.
It's hard to believe it's been that long...

Same here i played duke3d.exe in my windows 95 with 16 mb ram and pentium 150 mhs my mom wanted to kill me when the stripers appeard

LOL!
Ah the memories playing this game in the late 90s. I’m 30 years old now. First 3D shooter I ever played and still gaming today.

I stupidly forgot my account password. I would love any help you can offer me
@Reese Benedict instablaster =)
@Darian Judah i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm in the hacking process atm.
I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
10:45 doom reference :)
Oh god you’re right !
PV1230 the whole game is a doom reference lol
Whole game is a doom reference

The whole game is a doom reference!
Duke Nukem 3D was the most fun Pc game ever during my childhood with my brother and cousin :) . I wish they could make games like this again ! :)
Me too with my brother!!
Try Bulletstorm is as fun as Duke.
I too with my brother :))
It’s not the game itself it is because there was nothing else like it at the time
@@Mrskeletonfitness speak for yourself! The game was entertaining as fuck!
those are some of the most dedicated and/or oblivious strippers i've ever seen.
+Cactusman129 I always assumed they were under some kind of alien mind control. Hence the ambush in the back of the club.
I imagined they had but no other choice to comply, as the aliens pretty much liked girls, sex and booze in the game. But alien mind control theory sounds viable too.
@@perplexedmoth duke always save babe.. DONT KILL ANY BABE IN THE GAME! Because the level designer will put trap to punish you that you violent against woman, the alien control myth is wrong, im pretty sure
Level design at its finest
I remember this at the time was so realistic with amazing graphics, brings back a lot of memories
even if they remade it today with great graphics it couldn't compare. this was of the era.
It took me fucking forever to clear that first level as a kid :D
I actually never made it inside. I would always get scared as a kid when I saw the enemy run towards me lmao!
great game.. I loved it. The underwater and jetpack portions were so unique for the time.
sound effects and music are so great in this game!
The sound of the chaingun cannon never fails to put a smile on my face; so over-the-top and just plain badass
First played this when I was 11 when I got the Megaton Edition of this game on PS3. I played it for a long-ass time until they removed it from the PS Store, and when I got a PS4 I bought the 20th Anniversary port for that system. The new episode is sooooo good. This game deserves waaaay more credit than it gets. It’s still popular among some people even now. That’s what makes a true game.
This is just pro play lol. I can sense that 20 yr experience of playing this game.
meh this was done back then, anyone who knows that many secret areas also knows the map well enough to do this and they wouldn't leave the chick behind!
This game was ahead of its time when it came out. Dated today, but broke a lot of new ground and pushed the envelope back in 1996.
Dated seems kinda better than not dated today.
Shit, I used to play this a quarter of a century ago and played the hell out of it. Whilst watching THIS master at work, I found I could still remember the cheat codes :
DNAMMO
DNBETA
DNWEAPONS
DNCASHMAN
DNKROZ
An absolutely timeless classic.
DNSTUFF too :)

its time to kickass and chew bubblegum, but im alll outta gum
Some reasons why new is not always better with games:
- We love the sounds of this game because they are repeditive and take us back when we hear them. They remind us of what we are doing. Modern games music and sound is dynamic and typically doesn't allow for this.
- Visually we are working with drawn iconic artwork. Modern day games "'cheat" typically with 3d animated models that can appear cheap.
- Game play is direct, point click, fast pace you were always in complete control. Modern games try and emerse you in a fog of different movements. Crawling, running out of breath, swaying... It's a chore to play them.
Further, to make a better Duke. Take the game and just improve the resolution and artwork + add more levels and perhaps a few more features, guns etc. But don't change the engine and sounds
Kinda like what they did with StarCraft remastered
Nostalgia!! Setting up matches on our local BBS Online Illusions and playing this all night.
Can't believe nobody mentioned spending countless hours actually designing levels using BUILD and playing levels designed by others on Valhalla server...back in the day!!!
I never learned how to build but I had a collection of a couple of hundred levels people had made. I can't remember the name of the program but there was a little program you could install and play against other people. I had about a half a dozen guys that liked to play those levels too. Sadly the hard drive they were on crashed. I may have some on an old disc though.
@@TheArtofKelso There were about a handful of really popular maps we'd all play on, it was so much fun! Ah the good old days of blazing fast 56K modems... Kids these days don't know how good they have it. XD
@@1420MHZ I had a 56k modem for two weeks and then I got cable. Every time someone buzzed our apartment we'd get knocked offline.
Hail to the level lord guy!
@@TheArtofKelso it just called build.exe, it in duke nukem 3d if you full install it, it also in blood and shadow warrior(?)
15:55 oooooooh I just got that, it's a shawshank redemption reference!!!
Oh wow, I did that passageway 100x and that never clicked... I think probably b/c I saw shawshank redemption after the last time I played this. Awesome Easter egg.
Nowadays, we can watch the playthrough via youtube, so that we can never get lost in the middle of the game. Back in 1994, I had to browse on the internet and read the walkthrough solutions. Plus, I had to make a judgement what the author tried to say. If i judged it wrong, i would still get lost.
true bro :)
However duke nukem 3D wasn’t released until 1996! 😝
Doom is actually one of my favortie games, Lol, by the time I recorded this vid, I meant to nod after Duke said that quote. I shot him because he was blocking the chaingun but noticed some time ago you can get it without killing him.
I loved this game! I even remember the old magazine ads for it. "Doom rocks, but Duke rules!" Lol
This game had a lot of secrets and it really makes you think!!
Noone steals our chicks... and lives.
OMFG I used to play this as a kid. This is great.
ahh the nostalgia is overwhelming i was young like 8-10 and dad got our first computor we had this, doom, wolfenstien and blood 2, good times and happy memories on blowing shit up. dad would come home from work with a cheat book with all codes and secrets printed out by one on his mates and put in a binder.
“Those aliens are gonna pay for shootin’ up my ride!”
Man I wish secret places and things in videos were still this cool and special.
As a kid i always freaked out when i saw that octupus alien
Me too man. Lol
The screams were freaky

k10shy hahaha same, as the majority of us in that time. Great days.
So much nostalgia with this game, I used to play it with my dad on his old Sega Saturn, such good times.
You got all the secrets, you have an exciting playing style, and you played on hard instead of boring easy. Awesome stuff man
Samuel Jansen Thanks. Maybe some day, I'll do episodes 2-4 100% as well, on the hardest.
I was 22 when I first played this on a Windows PC in 1998, best FPS since the original Doom.
still fantastic game to watch, action and humor, I now see what secrets I missed more then 20 years back
It's time to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and I'm all out of gum. . . Damn , I´m looking good . . Shake it baby . . Naaah . . Ain´t got time playing with myself . . Good ol´ Duke , still got that Duke Nukem 3D , Doom plus a bunch of DOS based games . Did keep my old compter from back then too (PII + 2 Voodo II graphic cards and Soundblaster AWE 64 Gold soundboard ) to be able to play all these games plus all extra patches when i get tired of playing new games in between . . . X)
Together with Doom it was the best of the best. Then Quake, followed by Unreal, to the final of Half Life. After that nothing came into this league anymore.
The Chronicles of Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay. That's the standard for me.
This game was so awesome and thanks man for showing us all Duke Nukem 3D thumbs up :-D
Used to play this modem-modem with some custom made maps. The game had CCTV so you could look for your friend on the monitors. One of my favourite tricks was to load the elevator full of the explosive canisters and when he called it, detonate them just in time. Then there were the lazer trip beams too ! :)
Childhood throwback, best game ever made to this day
back when they made epic games
6:31 you can use a pipe bomb to remove the sprite and access the sewers. You probably know it already :)
17:01 there is a hidden switch near the end button, allowing access to the periscope.
I remember a bunch of kids always playing this game at my house lol. I was in my early 30's and played too, I think everyone liked this shoot shoot shoot and shoot some more simple game.
One of the greatest games from the 90s! So classic. The music, the quotes, the gameplay... literally everything about this game kicks ass!
This is the best first person shooter game on the planet. Change my mind.
You can believe that but
It’s not the game itself it’s just that there was nothing like it at the time
It Is the game itself. Undeniably a quality classic.
These times... They will never come back. They are now only good ol' memories!
That brought back old memories. I still see some of those places in my dreams to this day.
The 90s game at a creepiness that made them so good.
i had forgotten how creepy those flying alien things were! it would be cool if they made a new version, exactly the same levels and gameplay but modern graphics
Oh god help us I know the alian would probably be even scarier I was terrfied of them myself
No idea what made me think of this game but thank you so much for uploading!!!
The original Duke Nukem 3D and expansions can't beat them. Thanks for posting!
I haven't seen this for almost 25years, I still remember the guns, the sound effects and even some of the rooms somehow, so cool.

odd. no clue this could happen. but I can't rule out a bug from this one incident
Amazing watching the Build Engine in action. It definitely was the Source of its time.
"Damn, those alien bastards are gonna pay for shooting up my ride" and "Rest in pieces" are the best phrases huhauhauhahuahua
i was 5 years old when i played this game
i was pee on myself from scare ;)
good old days
great video :)
hahahha same with me , i was six when i saw this games for the first time , i only waited for some people to come our home and only then i could play this game with someone else and even then i was just watching how they play , it seemed actually too fucking scary haha XD
Yep... it's still #1 in my opinion. Incredible in its era.
I remember when my cousin installed the shareware version of Duke3D to my computer. It was a total turning point on my gaming - that was somethig completely new and cool. Trash cans that can be kicked, working mirrors and giving wad of cash to strippers.
Great memories.
Man I remember playing this as a kid this guy is much quicker then I ever was and I never found all the secret hiding places
my mother would play this on PC when we were kids and we'd all crowd around the computer chair and watch her. thus, my love of all video games (and things) bloody and shoot-em-up was born xD i was like 6 LOL
+Get Rekt ahh memories :3
Aa the good ol gather around the computer for some whooopass mode of some pigmen in cop clothing and just aliens with ur mom Dukein it Out :D i wished i had a mother that did that :D
Mine too !!!! Haha i remember I couldn’t sign on to AOL because she would play for hours at a time lol meanwhile I wanted to play WOLFENSTEIN 😂😂
nice gaming dude, respect !!
My older brother bought this when I was in elementary school. I played the hell out of this game. Now I heard its being remastered for the xbox one... Sold!
Awesome game. I will always remember my time growing up playing this.

I've got balls of steel
2018 and still wacthing this
Great run! Over three-quarters-of-a-million views :) I love that it's done in DOSBox and with the original no-mouse-look, just like I remember
Can’t get much more classic than this game of games
It's weird how your mind remembers things, I remember playing this and the graphics being awesome and I've always remembered them being better than they are, now they look cack.
I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT THESE GAMES WERE SO REALISTIC now I look back and I can like, still see what I once did but like it does look different now it's still VISUALLY pleasing though!
This footage is the game in a pretty low resolution.
cool level design
In elementary school I snuck this game onto one of the computers (snuck in the CD rom) and installed it.. Got in so much trouble for playing it after school lol
I remember this was the first game I played "on line" with a modem... I called my neighbor and we played each other on our windows 95 machines...
It's crazy watching this... The N64 version took out so much amazing stuff.
I play 64 version first then the PC version, still play until today and lots of custom maps. n64 version is fun too, we need to understand that nintendo was targeted to more kids audience back in the day
and they still do to this day.
Marco Fratini Brah, have you seen doom 64?
Durgenheim, limitations buddy.
To be fair, at least the N64 version had the courtesy to actually *add* some cool stuff while taking away others, so it isn't just "here's Duke Nukem 3D except not as good."
Best Game Ever
"shake it baby" "who want some"
Duke Nukem 3D has one of the best shotguns in history of video games ;D
I'm a little late, bought a PS1 along with Duke Nukem yesterday.
The PS1 version is fucking amazing. Best music too.

The screams of these squids! Still shitting my pants....:D
It's a shame Duke Nukem: Forever sucked the big one. No secrets to be found, no jetpack and just overall awful.
bongo785 Agreed
It wasn't that terrible.
Still, 3D and 64 kicked its ass though
Maikeru Senpai And chewed bubblegum.
It wasn't good because they took a retro icon and turned it a 2010's game. It was as good as a Call of Duty singleplayer mode. In other terms it was average.
Dr Doom Bagel, Duke Nukem Forever was originally going to be released in 2001 on Duke Nukem's 10th anniversary and it was going to be as good as Duke Nukem 3D but better.
When 3D Realms canceled the 4th installment, it was redeveloped in 2011 on Duke Nukem's 20th anniversary and it sucked because of the new ideas and gameplay.
From 1996? Wow, I played it as well when it came out. The good old days.
I never get tired of this!
