😱😱😱😱 I’ve been struggling with Luke 16 and could never find someone who explained it correctly, this is by far the best and honest explanation I have received 🔥🔥🔥🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
What also might help you is in the HS it actually says "And would I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous wealth, that when you fail, they shall receive you into everlasting dwellings?"

When I heard it at church, I learned a bit more and then your explanation seemed to make everything click! Thank you so much for making this video.
The parable is a warning to the disciples not to follow the Unjust Steward, He made friends to gain security (homes). So Jesus simply saying do likewise and when you die (it fails) they will welcome you into their eternal abode which is HELL not Heaven as people thought. Very simple and clear explanation. Hell is also eternal isn’t it.
There is one other plausible explanation that is not considered here. Just about every interpreter throughout history has begun by saying, "this is a vexing parable." and it is because why would any owner give praise to an employee who has screwed him over? Reading the sentences as interrogatives rather than declarative makes it easy to understand... it seems to make a lot more sense to me... with less theologizing and spiritualizing needed.... The Master = God The Unjust Steward = The Pharisees The Debtors= Sinners The Pharisees are letting sinners off easily by requiring a few rituals, with no conversion of heart. Is God going to praise this action? NO! Is the master going to praise someone that just screwed him? No! The master is NOT praising the actions of the steward; it was a question that everyone knew the answer was "No!". Jesus is NOT recommending the policies of the Pharisees to his followers. He is NOT holding them up as examples to be admired and imitated. He is saying rhetorically, "Is the master going to praise the actions of an unjust steward?", expecting his listeners to say "Of course not!" as God will not.... (Can befriending someone who has unjust mammon (works righteousness) help you get in to eternal habitation? No! ) The Pharisees were offering cheap grace, the bare minimum, forgiveness by works, and it wasn't enough...the very he next chapter after this one, Luke 17: 9 Doth he thank that servant, for doing the things which he commanded him?10 I think not. So you also, when you shall have done all these things that are commanded you, say: We are unprofitable servants; we have done that which we ought to do... Here are some of the papers by those proposing the idea, but as I said, it is difficult if not impossible to disprove or to prove due to lack of physical evidence: Reexamination of the Ironical Interpretation Parable of the Unjust Steward in Luke 16 (Chang Wook Jung , Chongsin Univ) Philantropy or Sarcasm - Another Look at the Parable of the Dishonest Manager (Luke 16:1-13) (I J Du Plessis) The Riddle of the Unjust Steward: Is Irony the Key? Yeah, I appreciate this channel but I wasn't completely satisfied with Pastor John's answer. I will have to look further into this. I think there might be some subtleties here that aren't being explored.
@@Joseph_Knight Jesus did not and will not commend dishonesty. All Characters in the parable are bad (sons of this age) The Master, Steward and Debtor. The Steward thought that he will have safety by making friends. So Jesus told the Disciples to do likewise and you will end up in the same place where they are in eternity. But they are all dishonest making Eternal Habitation to be Hell not Heaven as many if not all thought. This parable is a warning for Dishonesty. see video by Mel

@@Joseph_Knight the Greek word for "it fails" is cease or to die, but when they render it in English as "it" people think its the money but actually should be render when you die. The Master commended the Unjust Steward because he got richer by lowering the debt, a unexpected result of the dishonesty of the steward. Because they were able to pay now that it was lowered rather than owing the whole amount.

John, thanks for your well-prepared and lively presentation. Can I ask your opinion about why the steward (who we know from the end of vs. 7 was holding the contracts that indicated the amount of the debts, so he already knew the debts) asked the two debtors how much their debts were? (I have an idea about this, but I'd like to know your idea.)
8 Now the king of Syria was making war against Israel; and he consulted with his servants, saying, “My camp will be in such and such a place.” 9 And the man of God sent to the king of Israel, saying, “Beware that you do not pass this place, for the Syrians are coming down there.” 10 Then the king of Israel sent someone to the place of which the man of God had told him. Thus he warned him, and he was watchful there, not just once or twice. 11 Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was greatly troubled by this thing; and he called his servants and said to them, “Will you not show me which of us is for the king of Israel?” 12 And one of his servants said, “None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.” 13 So he said, “Go and see where he is, that I may send and get him.” And it was told him, saying, “Surely he is in Dothan.” 14 Therefore he sent horses and chariots and a great army there, and they came by night and surrounded the city. 15 And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” 16 So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 18 So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, and said, “Strike this people, I pray, with blindness.” And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. 19 Now Elisha said to them, “This is not the way, nor is this the city. Follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom you seek.” But he led them to Samaria. 20 So it was, when they had come to Samaria, that Elisha said, “Lord, open the eyes of these men, that they may see.” And the Lord opened their eyes, and they saw; and there they were, inside Samaria! 21 Now when the king of Israel saw them, he said to Elisha, “My father, shall I kill them? Shall I kill them?” 22 But he answered, “You shall not kill them. Would you kill those whom you have taken captive with your sword and your bow? Set food and water before them, that they may eat and drink and go to their master.”

Jesus said give up all of your belongings and follow me. for all of you that just took this man at his word and did not go and read the chapter for yourselves I will do that for you. By the way this whole teaching is a contradiction to when Jesus said it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle then it is for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. I will add that in verse 17 it says, it is easier for heaven in Earth to disappear than for the Lee stroke of a pen to drop out of the law. That means the biblical laws of the old testament still apply! You do not get to pick and choose which laws you will accept and which ones you will not. I highly doubt any of you ever killed anyone for eating shellfish or for being gay like your Bible commands to do.
Oh, yeah that reminds me of like I was thinking about earlier when someone asked me to move some cryptocurrency miners and I was homeless and I think they were worth about $20-30k and I could have stolen them and mined bitcoins or sold them and bought a house but I totally didn't even think about it and I just drove to the guy's house they were going to be put at and just delivered them. So I just did this for the guy for free. I could have invested in crypto in 2011 when I was talking to people about the silk road before the FBI even heard of it but I just didn't care. If I did I would have like a few million bucks out of $100 now but I don't so whatever. Actually if you're the kind of person as a Christian who is connected with people doing favors and having connections then you can do some deciding about what favors are being done for what kind of people. What kind of favors do you think benefit Christ and are there any kinds of favors that can be done for Him that you can help Him do or have done and with whom? Like laundering money? With the church? I mean that sort of thing doesn't seem wrong.. Pretty sure that it says that's basically fine. It's implied in other places. Actually that's pretty honest. $500 at a time.. What's fair? half of nothing, 20%? Where does a church have to report donations under $500? or assets? Monero? I think there is something about washing and becoming clean that I would expect to see next. Can't a 501.3c make donations? Buy services? What about not breaking with tradition? You know a rabbi can hold money for someone else for later. Tax free.. Everyone is using crypto so how could we be laundering money with the church? I don't see how it's fraud to offer a service as a non-profit under religious freedom which is guaranteed. In January 2013, Italy’s central bank suspended all bank payments inside Vatican City for the Church’s failure to follow “anti-money-laundering” regulations. 99bitcoins.com/buy-bitcoin/buy-bitcoin-anonymously-without-id/ Just find ways anonymously. Be honest with other peoples stuff. You may have to hedge a bit on how it is converted. It basically says that I wouldn't start a ponzi scheme but you might and laundering money is better. Know day traders, crypto fans, christians, globally. People you can trust with corporations. Non profits. Contracts.

Romans Chapter 6
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death.
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we should walk in the newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 for he that is dead is freed from sin.
8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Lying in a field of glass
Underneath the overpass
Mangled in the shards of a mental frame
Woken from a dream by my own name
Well I was such a wretched man
Searching everywhere for a homeland
Now we are under the same sun
Feel it through the leaves, let it heal us
We are the same
We are both sane
Underneath the sycamore
We are the same
We are both sane
Underneath the sycamore
We were both broken in our own ways
Sifting through the rubble for the wrong things
I know you've got a vengeful heart
I cannot be stopped soon as I start
But you have seen your darkest rooms
And I have slept in makeshift tombs
This is where we find our peace
This is where we are released
We are the same
We are both sane
Underneath the sycamore
We are the same
We are both sane
Underneath the sycamore

I will add that in verse 17 it says, it is easier for heaven in Earth to disappear than for the Lee stroke of a pen to drop out of the law.
That means the biblical laws of the old testament still apply! You do not get to pick and choose which laws you will accept and which ones you will not.
I highly doubt any of you ever killed anyone for eating shellfish or for being gay like your Bible commands to do.
Wow
Maybe the story was made up and not accurate? I mean alot of things in the bible have been changed
Interesting. Definitely not level 1 stuff.

Just find ways anonymously. Be honest with other peoples stuff. You may have to hedge a bit on how it is converted.
It basically says that I wouldn't start a ponzi scheme but you might and laundering money is better.
Know day traders, crypto fans, christians, globally. People you can trust with corporations. Non profits. Contracts.
JOHN MACARTHUR AND JOHN PIPER BOTH FAIL MISERABLY AT UNDERSTANDING AND EXPLAINING LUKE 16.9 - FOR IN THAT VERSE THE LORD JESUS WAS SPEAKING VERY SARCASTICALLY TO THE UNBELIEVERS IN HIS AUDIENCE, HE WAS *NOT* GIVING HIS BROTHERS AND SISTERS ADVICE!!!!!!!
