- Опубликовано: 2 июн 2024
- Cavite is one of the most underrated cities in the Philippines. Erwan Heussaff is going on a historical food trip with Ige Ramos-an award-winning food writer, culinary historian, and a true-blooded Caviteño. What makes Cavite truly special is its role in the Philippine Independence and its strategic location which made it an integral trading post and then one of the most important ports of the then Galleon Trade during the Spanish occupation of the country.
Join us on this memorable and exciting food crawl as we sample tasty dishes like “Kasilyo” (local white cheese), “Bibingkoy” (glutinous rice cake), Adobo Seca, Kare Kare and many more!

Erwan don't mind his appearance in his vlog. He carries a big shoulder bag as he walked all around the market with his hair unnoticed. Yan ang totoong gwapo, wapakels sa itsura, basta gwapo, gwapo talaga..
These are the types of vlogs that should be supported because it introduces us to our culture that we ought to already forget.. di yung mga puchu2 na wala man lang sense!!! Good job Erwan!!!
Govt. Should put more effort in preserving the rich food heritage of the whole Philippines. Erwann is more Filipino than most of us. Kudos Erwann thank you for your efforts in educating the rest of us. ❤❤❤👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Champion ka erwan. What a way to educate people. Mabuhay ang Pinoy Cuisine! Thanks erwan and to Mr. Iggy Ramos, too. Topnotch!
Thanks to the FEATR team for such high quality reporting, production, authenticity, passion in all things Philippines! you make all of us proud!
Wow, thank you!
Damn Erwan, we really need you to be our next Dept of Tourism Sec!
"Duon ka muna sister" really got me haha 13:39
parang lokal si erwan sa etibak. love this channel! no pretentions, keeping it real. shot selection, well researched, giving tribute to the local culture. galing!
I love how there's a huge difference between upland and lowland food from Cavite. I hope you continue this series but with the upland areas of Cavite.
Exactly 🙂
I want upland too. I'm Upland Cavite. 😻
Sarap panoorin food vlog ni Erwan, walang arte at selan. At marunong syang makinig sa guest nya👍👏
Ditto. Unlike other self-proclaimed "food vloggers".
Well deserve for the James Beard award. Continue to educate people and share insights on our diverse culinary wealth. 😊😊
Muchas gracias Erwan & FEATR for featuring Cavite City again! Adobong Seca is my Mama's and the Kare' is my Papa's specialties... the Pats' pianono and creme puff is my childhood favorites... and of course the Bibingkoy is the all time favorite of the whole family!
You make me more proud for being a true blood Caviteňa!
❤
Nagpunta kami jan sa cavite city para bumili ng bibingkoy, hindi namin nakita yun store nila aling ika.
Tapos ngaun meron pa palang famous pianono at cream puff jan wow.
My known ancestor, Datu Kalun is actually from Cavite, and later migrated to Lamitan, Basilan in Mindanao. I am really surprised and in awe that Chavacano is also spoken in some parts of Cavite and not just in Zamboanga and Basilan. Filipino culture is indeed amazing.
Napakagaling na story teller talaga ni Erwan ❤❤
Totally agree!
Erwan explains everything as crystal. Good job FEATR 🎉🎉🎉
i wish a lot of fermented food will be highlighted in the market the way kimchi was embraced in our country. I am genuinely curious of burong mustasa. I only know atsara so far.
sana mafeature din ang Imus Cavite and Malolos Bulacan.. my hometowns 😊❤
Sir, your contents now is a way of showcasing the richness of our beautiful Philippines in anyways! Keep on rolling po.its so nice and proud of it .🎉❤😊thanks a lot 🙏
I was born and partly raised in Cavite City until I migrated here in the US. I remember going to the main source where Aling Ika cooks her dishes that she will serve for the day. “ E. Mariano St. “ in San Roque almost every other day I would go there to buy my breakfast. Trust me, I know all their menu because she’s just my neighbor. Her cook “Mang Reny Pekto” was also my next door neighbor.
Wow thank you Erwan, now deciding to have a retirement house in General Trias will make it more enjoyable eating my favorite foods and those very new/old eats I’ve missed out on ❤️❤️❤️ thank you thank you 🥰😇😎🤙
Does Mr. Ramos give food tours? He’s amazing !
This is very educational, Erwan and Featr Team! I love this! I didnt feel like I am watching a vlog. This is a TV Show!!
This is exactly what I always want to show to friends when I say Cavite (City) does have its very own cuisine!
Then why not make it into a foodtrip bucket list.
Tsabakano po ang dating langguage dito sa aming bayan na Cavite but on my time di na sya masyado used ang mostly na lang na nakakapag tsabakanos are older people, some people from Cavite City, Ternate, Maragondon and Magallanes. Thank you FEATR and Mr. Erwan for featuring again our place as it was part of our cultures or mga traditional na food dito sa Cavite.
Thank
You so much for featuring cavite city.
I miss my lola’s adobong tagalog and kare kare.. I lived with her inncavite when I was a kid. She passed away at 90. She was a great cook and all the dishes you showed here were staples in our home.
I would always request her to buy us kesong puti from cavite wet market 😢
Kudos Erwan, for digging and researching some aspects of Cavite City's food culture and history (of course, with the help of your great resource person (Ige Ramos)). For me, this is such a great travel down to memory lane (born, grew up in Cavite City and lived there until my early 40s). A big thank you!!! ❤💙💚
It's in Cavite where I first tasted burong mustasa. I love their tinapa, too.
Lamon sa Etivac
Thank you for a video series with substance. Presenting my country's cuisine vis-a-vis its history, culture, through the lens of its people in their diversity rather than the stereotypical touristy caricatures. Thank you.
ige ramos, so eloquent!
Highly appreciate the response. thank you.
Woow erwan such a humble guys u can see guyss he dont mind the bag he carry in his shoulder other boys cannot fo that good job lods 🙏🙏💖💖💖💖
Im loving the AUDIO of this Vlog. Good job to the production staff/s behind it and the camera shots Galing! 👏
I would so buy a collection of all of the soundtracks for all of the episodes if they offered it up for purchase. FEATR is such a low-key exploration of the musical cultures of the respective populations in the PI.
I wish you could do an episode about coffee produced in Amadeo and their different blend.
Lived in Cavite City for almost 11 years pero wala pa sa kalahati ng mga nakain ni Erwan yung natikman ko! Ahahaha.
This was another beautiful and educational experience. I appreciate the passion because it's present and you can hear from their conversations. Keep on opening doors to history, food, and culture. Maraming Salamat ❤
Eyyy! I love the Cavite Vlogs 😮❤🎉 Welcome to my Hometown 😊
I am from cavite and i am still learning a lot from your show. Thank you for showcasing caviteño cuisine.
Merci beaucoup Erwin! My husband is from Cavite and this is interesting to learn so much about the history....my husband would tell me about their delicious food. Next time we go home we will definitely visit those places. We are from Canada. 😍
I felt sorry for General Trias, Cavite. Years ago it was a rich agricultural land. Villar changed the province drastically 😢
Kahit Dasma eh. 😢
Bravo Ige and Erwan!
Thank you for featuring my hometown, Cavite City! 🙏 definitely sharing this to friends and colleagues💞
Enjoy watching you Erwan. I feel like watching the late Anthony Bourdain. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Bilang purong Chavacano I always wanna show that Cavite City has a very preserved food and colorful Culture. I'm saddened that the Chavacano as a dialect is already dying and almost no one is speaking it.
Cavite and Bulacan, two provinces that has the same vibe as modern tagalog provinces with preserved spanish influences
My Dad was born and raised in Cavite City, there's a Carinderia named Asyong's not sure if it still open, my Dad used to take us there and the food was awesome.
Welcome Po Sir Heusaff Erwan to our land Cavite ..thank you
I just love Erwan’s content! ❤😊 kudos to the whole team behind every satisfying and informative content.
Thanks for this video on Cavite and its rich history including food history. I was born in Bayan Luma, Cavite and grew up in Imus. My grandparents and their children, my mom cook all of these
food specialities like the kalamays, unique homemade longganisa, unique dry adobo, and so much more. This video brings so much nostalgia. Grateful!❤
Another facet of Cavite culture, knowing the province through its food
Thank you Erwan for the food blog.Love how simple and honest you are, walang arte and marunong “po” though not pure Filipino very respectful.SALUTE
So informative and a good way to showcase and encourage people to be more interested in our heritage
Caviteña here. Tnx for visiting kuya erwan ❤❤❤
im proud caviteño of dalahican cavite city.. thank you for coming here in our historical place
Damn, Erwan. Your convincing enunciation of Spanish nomenclature might be credited to your French heritage?
It would be interesting to see you exploring the French colonial culinary heritage of Viet Nam.
Wishing there was a Double Like Button for the soundtrack to this episode.
My mom is from Cavite City and she would make us panic lug lug. It had vegetables like a typical pancit but it also has the palabok sauce. I have never seen it or had it anywhere else nor does anyone I know make it that way. I am in the US so maybe if I went to the PI, I would find it, who knows. Thank you for doing the food tour with us. I don't know how you don't gain weight. Mr Ramos, thank you for your dedication and continued pursuit to educate us about Filipino cuisine...
i love this episode. we are from salinas cavite and these food i remember when i was young. i hope they include troso - a bread i know is also a cavite staple. cavitenos then also cook pague - sting ray with luyang dilao and tocino that is dry and not sugary! ❤ im remembering days where i pick up atsuete fruits and get the seeds :)
Nilo’s Tocino! 😋
Thank you for FEATR'ing my hometown. Viva!
As a true Cavitena, thank you for featuring all the food I love eating growing up! 🥰
Bakit wala pang sariling TV series si Erwan?
Man this documentary video is so good!
Thanks Erwan for visiting Cavite ❤❤❤..I'm Cavitena 😊
Yehey na Feature din Ang aking munting Probinsya ❤❤❤ thank you Erwan ❤❤
I really love your videos. I’ve learned a lot about different stories of different cities/provinces through food. Hopefully, you can visit South Cotabato ❤❤❤
Sa totoo lang pwede mo talaga ihanay ang Imus longganisa sa mga sikat na longganisa sa ibang lugar sa pilipinas. Lalo pag mahilig kayo sa garlicky longganisa
Tilbok, kagyos with horse meat and alibangbang, dry adobo, tinapa with dill, fresh brewed coffee were some of the food my grandparents, aunts and uncles prepared when we were young especially during fiesta. Not to mention the pandesal in Bailen Cavite remains the same. ❤
Now I’m hungry 🤤 🇦🇺
Delicious Cavite Foods !!! We have delicious filipino foods in San Diego ! Now I know why watching this vlog ! Thank you for sharing !
Caviteños are known for their good dishes just like Pampanga.
Interesting and educational... a good way to showcase filipino heritage thru the citys traditional and known for cuisine.
More places to visit and explore papa Erwan. More resto's, eatery to discover. Those hidden recipes that almost forgotten. ..👌🥰

I like how mr. Ramos explain how we could help our farmers by serving their products on our table....
I’m from Cavite. But I don’t know this thing, maybe coz I only stay in our barangay. And now I’m learning from your vlogs😍🥰 thanks!
Eat local! Support small family owned businesses! The tinapang Bangus is the best! I have to get it every time I visit!👍👍👍👍
