In terms of sculpt there’s no comparison. Proportions and face are better on Hasbro figure. Beyond that it depends on whether you want a classic Joe style Sarge - Hasbro - or the Valaverse old man version, which has the same body head to toe as a different figure.
I’m with my husband on this Action Force makes wonderful figures with weapons and gear that are used in real world hasbro or my husband calls “Has-bins” are stuck in the past with design more kiddy style with nerf and star wars blasters than “real world designs”.
just subbed and I got to say the focus on your camera is top notch! and it's nice to hear a proper review of these figs without any bias. great content!
I have both and like both. Each has their pros and cons. Valaverse is a solid figure, grounded in realism. He has more articulation. I can pose Valaverse's Sarg leaning forward, with his chin jutting out, pointing accusingly at whomever. I can't do that with Hasbro's Sarg. On the negative front, I dislike the trapezius muscle on the figure. It sits so high that it creates too much of a gap that pulls you out of the illusion of realism. I also don't like that the glasses are made of rubber and won't stay put. Also, the hat is overly stiff and doesn't fit well. Once you have them both on, they look good; just make sure he doesn't fall or both with scatter into unknown areas on your floor. ;) The Hasbro Sarg is huge, which in many ways is the point. He's larger than life. You need that if you're going to train G.I.Joe recruits...or for bashing Cobra skulls in. What I don't like, is the poor paint applications on the figure. You seem to have lucked out. The torso on yours looks well painted. Mine was barely sprayed on and it allowed the black plastic to show through the skin and made Sarg look sickly. I had to paint over it. Also, they could have put a paint app on the shoelaces. I went ahead and did that. I think both Valaverse and Hasbro Classified compliment each other. I don't regret owning both versions. Soon, I will also get the Ver 1 Valaverse Sarg and kit bash a Valaverse "Sunbow" or "Original" version. :)
Great comparison, @Enewtabie, but you left out the Valaverse version's backpack and additional vest. The latter is great to make a complete new look. I didn't realize Hasbro's Sarge is that bigger :O
Thank u for showing these two together. I got that v2 valaverse slaughter and was not goin to get the hasbro one cause already got a awesome sgt. only thing liked about the hasbro over the action force was that miniature sgt. slaughter. But seeing the huge differences in them is kinda making me decide wether I should change my mind and get him now. He is a lot bigger then noticed then valaverse sgt. Noticed he looked more muscular but didn’t know it was in size all around. Only thing curious about now is knowing my valaverse v2 sgt slaughter already looks pretty good next to my other action force and gi joes. Wonder how much bigger hasbro sgt is to the rest of line. Def one thing not happy about at all is that once again hasbro does a pinned figure. Used not be a pin snob but for the price we are paying for alit of these figures today and knowing they have the molds and technology easy for them to do now. There really is no excuse why they keep cheating out on us and doing the old tech style of figure on us except it’s just that they are cheap and trying to nickel and dime every penny from us as they go up in price. Hate to sound that way but really no excuse today for it. The we’re doing pinless figures already when they first showed us this rendering of it. Mean paying a premium price as Is what $34.99. Should be a premium figure. Am glad they gave extra hands this time and like that hat and that mini sgt like say is a win in my book. But still. Should been pin less at that price. Sorry long comment. Just ranting guess.
I have the second Slaughter that Valaverse made. I passed on the first one that had a jacket. I don't have the Hasbro version yet. Thank you for showing these figures side by side. I like the sculpt better on the Action Force Sgt Slaughter. I like the size better on the the Classified Sgt Slaughter.
Sgt. Slaughter was 6'6" in real life so the figure that would be a better comparison to his real life size than that would be the best figure. It would be nice that these RUclips toy critics would stop being so lazy and buy a measuring tape (they should have one automatically if they're a man) and just measure the damn thing, that way it's a better more precise explanation of the product being presented.
They both look good....I have both Action Force and GI Joe stuff the Action Force stuff is really nicely detailed and if I was going for realism I'd go with that figure the Hasbro version is definitely cartoony but if that's the look you want I'm sure it's a decent figure the Valaverse one with the painless tech and nicer accessories is probably the one I would get if I wanted a Sarge figure but to each their own I love both lines it really comes down to which look you're going for
I put a tiny piece of double sided tape on the sunglasses to get them to stay. I didn't want to use superglue and the double sided tape works good without being permanent.
Good review. I have both figures. I got Hasbro Sarge two days ago. Action Force is the more forward leaning line with pinless figures , multiple hands and accurate weapons. Hasbro is a juggernaut of nostalgia. Being able to stand your twenty-five year old 3 3/4" Sarge next to a brand new 6" scale Sarge is just awesome for a collector. Action Force can't touch that. I'm glad to have both figures in my collection, though.
Thanks for this. I was really interested in the Valaverse Action Force figures and understood they were comparable to GiJoe Classified. So I picked up a Classified figure locally and figured these guys are pretty big. Now with this video I see the size comparison perfectly. The scale of the Action force figures works better for me. Thanks again.
Thanks for the comparison. Really wanted the Valaverse version but it wouldn’t look right being that it would be smaller than my other 6” figures. Sgt Slaughter is supposed to be bigger. Thanks
The stand has a slot to put the file card too. Both are great. The only thing i don't like on valaverse is the top should over hang and height. But I like valaverse for the realism. Hasbros I don't like the pins showing.
Valaverse figures look fantastic. If you are going for a more realistic modern military figure - Valaverse is the toy line for you. I’m a G.I. Joe fan who grew up with the A Real American Hero line in the 80s. One of the things that got me hooked on G.I. Joe to begin with was the melding of real word military with the fantastical (although I got turned off to the line after about ‘87 because it was becoming just too goofy). What I love about the Classified line is that they are bringing G.I. Joe into the modern era while still maintaining its cartoon and comic book roots. I prefer the Classified Sgt. Slaughter over the Valaverse one because in the cartoon, he was almost a super heroic larger than life character. The Classified Sgt. Slaughter captures that aesthetic perfectly. The Valaverse one keeps him grounded in the real world (with the exception of the over exaggerated chin). The Classified version is the one for me. It closely matches his original action figure and the “larger than life” cartoon and comic book aesthetic.
Grabbed both but the difference in size is crazy. I'll keep em all but the Vala won't be with my Joe's and just stand alone.. I don't have any interest in valaverse figures, Might get weapon packs.
I was about to buy a Valaverse Sgt. Slaughter when they announced an actual Joe Sgt. Slaughter. I should have mine in a few days as I have gotten a message that mine has been shipped.
is the Hasbro Sarge larger than the Standard Classified Figures. I thought Valaverse and Classified were compatible scale, but this looks way off and I was wondering if it's just this one figure,.
Good review. Hasbro is making that idealized almost Herculean Sarge, very comic heroic. Valaverse is making a more realistic character still idealized from the man. Drill instructors are machines, tip top shape who can run for days. Well the few instructors I’ve met were that way. He definitely skews on the older side much like Mr. Remus is now. Hasbro Sarge has hands I wish more classified figures came with in fists and those gripping hands. I would love for Spirit and Gung Ho and Roadblock to have those hands. Maybe the tone works for Gung Ho. Flint, Duke, Snake Eyes need gloved fists and gripping hands. I would like a pointing gloved hand for Duke. Hopefully Hawk comes with one. Anyway. Good stuff.
Yes they are both awesome figures but the Valaverse Sgt S the chin is up to high and makes him look like Popeye , like a old aged man missing his dentures if they could fix that it would be perfect .
What I dont get is in general people dont like plastic because plastic and the environment but when it comes to action figure packaging said plastic is loved and doesnt want gone lol.
I collect both lines and I preordered the Hasbro version, after seeing your review I like the Hasbro version more IMO so He will be default Slaughter. The Valaverse version is awesome but I popped the head off and added the T2 Great Twins Terminator and made him into Dutch from Predator
I HATED my Valaverse version 2 Sgt Slaughter because he was clearly TOO DAMN SMALL! The cartoon Sgt Slaughter was HUGE next to the other joes, but the Valaverse figure barely bigger than the Hasbro Scarlett. I dumped him on eBay several weeks ago in favor of the Classified Slaughter. His overall size and back musculature is fantastically proportionate and the sunglasses stay on better as well. The Valaverse version only had more accessories, but I can get better 3D printed guns online anyway.
Let’s be frank; both made a better lookin version of Sarge than the real thing ever looked Bahahah. I personally prefer the Joe version as that’s cartoon Sarge.
Two totally different figures the hasbro one is a basic 3 quarter inch sgt in six inch for it is him from animated movie....the scene from cobra Island.. Thus the gun... The pegs in the arms are even call back to original figures... It is animated movie sgt slaughter
As I am a fan of both Action Force and Hasbro and collect both lines, overall I would have to tip my hat more towards the Hasbro version for nostalgic purposes and I am more of a fan of figures that scale better (at least on my collection the Hasbro one looks better overall). All of the Action Force figures in my collection seem the same height, but they all shine in their own way. Here are my thoughts for everything regarding the differences: 1. Box: I would have to give Action Force the victory here, plastic window (Although the artwork on the classified box is cool), file card, better numbering system for each wave, Classified is all over the place with their numbering system and wave system. You also get Action Points which will come in handy down the road. GI Joe Classified could do take the win if they include the original file card (not the 5 different bilingual card), incorporate Flag Points, and fix their numbering system with repaints and variants. Hands: Hasbro gets the win here, although you get more with the Action Force figure I like Hasbro’s versions a tad bit better but both are great selections. Stand: AF gets the win, their stands are great with multiple pegs and the ability to display the file card, Hasbro could take notes from this. A shame that only the retro figures get a stand. Hat: Hasbro wins here, I like the color, softer texture a little better and it seems that the classified version stays on better. AF may come with 2 but I would never have that other hat on him in any scenario, sometimes more isn’t better. Weapons: they both tie here for me, I really like the AF weapons, they color them and look a lot better than Hasbro weapons, the revolver is very nice. I like the glasses on the Classified version better, better color and they fit on the Sarge with the hat better than the AF one. The mini figure is cool but unnecessary, I love the baton as well, kind of hard to go either way with this one. Figure: for me the scaling matters to me the most so Classified gets the win here. But AF’s more realistic look is a nice touch, the boys are better on the AF figure, it is a tie on the pants although I do like the leg holster for the revolver, the upper body is a tie because I like the whistle on the Classified and the vest on the AF. Head sculpt goes to Hasbro, looks more like the OG Sarge than the old retired looking one.
I don’t see why people are saying the Valaverse Sarg is more realistic. In real life SGT Slaughter was at least 6’4” in his prime and billed as 6’6” which is his cannon height. The Valaverse is a cool figure but doesn’t fit the characters/wrestlers size or proportions.
When side by side ,Hasbro makes Valaverse look sickly. I have both and feel the Valverse definitely has the better articulation and better accessories and the hasbro looks the best.
The G.I. Joe is definitely the 1 for me. He's got the toon/toy/comic accuracy that I want. He's supposed to be bigger, and has the appropriate accessories. The Action force is any random soilder with a Sgt. Slaughter head. And Action force is generally $7 more. For an extra $7 it needs to have significantly more accessories. The extra sculpt on the boot bottoms and stand are only worth $0.50 at best. And Action Force packaging is NOT 100% recyclable. Hasbro is 100% recyclable AND for those that don't know recyclable packaging is more expensive for the manufacturer than non-recyclable. G.I. Joe/Marvel Legends/Star Wars Black Series generally have just the 2 hands on a basic figure but recently I've been seeing more multi hands. To me the multiple hands has been the only bonus with Valaverse. Thanks for a good comparison.
Valaverse Sgt Slaughter. Remove his mustache and put a sailor hat on him and he's Popeye the sailor man. Lol
Gotta go with Hasbro iconic comic book look ..
Thx for this comparison! Great to see these side by side while I await my Hasbro Sarge.
Hasbro reminds me of the little one I got in the mail decades ago
In terms of sculpt there’s no comparison. Proportions and face are better on Hasbro figure. Beyond that it depends on whether you want a classic Joe style Sarge - Hasbro - or the Valaverse old man version, which has the same body head to toe as a different figure.
Action force face sculpt needs his dentures put in.
I’m with my husband on this Action Force makes wonderful figures with weapons and gear that are used in real world hasbro or my husband calls “Has-bins” are stuck in the past with design more kiddy style with nerf and star wars blasters than “real world designs”.
Kiddy style? You’re talking about toys here. Their MEANT for children PMSL WHOOSH
just subbed and I got to say the focus on your camera is top notch! and it's nice to hear a proper review of these figs without any bias. great content!
Oh Thanks. I appreciate it

We are spoilt for choice with Sgt Slaughter action figures 😎 Great video !
Great comparison, @Enewtabie, but you left out the Valaverse version's backpack and additional vest. The latter is great to make a complete new look. I didn't realize Hasbro's Sarge is that bigger :O
Funny you say that. I found the vest and backpack today when I was cleaning up
Excellent video and comparison review. I opted for the Valaverse Sgt Slaughter purely because he looks far less cartoonish. 13:11

Awesome view on both of the Sergeant slaughter action figures I am a new subscriber
Thanks. Thanks for stopping by😎

Glad I could help! I’m diving deeper into Action Force this year
AF also has a backpack where you can store extra magazines
Thanks for the comparison. Really wanted the Valaverse version but it wouldn’t look right being that it would be smaller than my other 6” figures. Sgt Slaughter is supposed to be bigger. Thanks
I can see why both are valid. For me, I landed on the Classified Slaughter.
I just got my first valaverse figure, I'm going to try and get a few from series 3 kill switch definitely
The stand has a slot to put the file card too. Both are great. The only thing i don't like on valaverse is the top should over hang and height. But I like valaverse for the realism. Hasbros I don't like the pins showing.

Picked up a weapons pack. They were well made.
@@Enewtabie the blast effects are really getting me.
Both amazing but the G I. Joe made the best one 🔥💯🇵🇷🇺🇸🎖️✌🏼😎
I was about to buy a Valaverse Sgt. Slaughter when they announced an actual Joe Sgt. Slaughter. I should have mine in a few days as I have gotten a message that mine has been shipped.
Great comparisons. I can’t wait to get the classified Sgt slaughter
Yeah he’s a good one
is the Hasbro Sarge larger than the Standard Classified Figures. I thought Valaverse and Classified were compatible scale, but this looks way off and I was wondering if it's just this one figure,.
It’s about the same size as Roadblock in Classified. A little shorter actually.

Slaughter in his prime and retired Slaughter.
Good to see you review these! I passed on Vala after the dirty, underhanded Classified reveal. Package sucks but the figure seems to be the best.
Thanks 😎
Hasbro version has dope original artwork by an independent artist. Dunno that package sucks
What I dont get is in general people dont like plastic because plastic and the environment but when it comes to action figure packaging said plastic is loved and doesnt want gone lol.

Hasbro GI Joe 💪💪💪
Listen I hate hasbro but I can’t lie they shit all over valaverse with this fig I’m big on headsculpt and valas always looked so bad to me
I HATED my Valaverse version 2 Sgt Slaughter because he was clearly TOO DAMN SMALL!

Valaverse all the way for me, if I collected Joe's. Great comparison video, great work!
😎👍Thanks. Made sense to do one
I'd say valaverse is truer to scale, wish they'd make a figure like road pig so I could fit him in an rc build more easily.
Hasbro won this ..".knowing is half the battle".
When side by side ,Hasbro makes Valaverse look sickly. I have both and feel the Valverse definitely has the better articulation and better accessories and the hasbro looks the best.
Hasbro better period

Basically the two figures are the same price. Hasbro's Srage considered a deluxe, so it's 33 or 34 dollars, not 25, like the normal figures :(
Your way off base on this 👎
Classified sgt slaughter blows the old man valaverse slaughter out the water
me i tape them on
I'll take the valaverse over hascrap all day.
Valaverse looks like a straight up knockoff 🤣🤣🤣
Action force SS looks totally wrong
So, what are the heights of both?
To the top of the hat Hasbro is 1/2 inch taller at 7”. Vala is about 6.5”
Hasbro gave Sgt. Slaughter the rifle used in the Star Wars Andor series as his primary weapon.
😂😂😎
