Sir at 20:20 min why can't there be 1 as lim inf, as per u said previously for lim inf, collect all infimum then 1 by 1 removing all infimum we get 1 at last then frm here 1 is the suprimum.

In 3rd series-1/n...... While calculating limit infimum why are we taking 0 as supreme value shouldn't it be 1 because ultimatly 1 will be the largest value in the set of infimum values??
Very Impressive and helpful lecture sir. But one think to ask that in sequence 1/n, 0 seems to be infimum of supremums but 0 does not belong to the set, then can be we say it??

Consider the sequence
an =(-1,-2,-1/3,-3,-1/3,...)
We have to calculate limsup and liminf of sequence
i got solution as
liminf( an)=minus infinity and limsup(an)=-1/3 but they said limsup is 0

You are correct if all the alternative terms are -1/3
If the sequence is
an=(-1 ,-2 ,-1/3, -3,
-1/(3^2),-4,-1/(3^3),...) Then we say that limsup an =0
