When Winslow was at the height of his fame, he did a serious cutback on his career, as his wife had died and he devoted much time to bringing up his children. That was of course the right thing to do. If his supernova had continued to rise at the level it had been rising, he'd probably be regarded as one of the greatest entertainers ever. (I think he is anyway.)
I seem a 53 year old widow since may. I started watching reaction videos to distract me. I subscribed to quite a few of them but I have ti tell you I enjoy you more than most. Keep up the great work, and i love the just be a good human it always makes me smile😁
Michael Winslow was on America's Got Talent last year. He was trying to jump start his career again which he had said went on a downward spiral. It was kind of sad but he had some good performances.
You could have stolen the jacket off Jamal's back during that performance, and he won't have known. I have seen this clip several times throughout the years, and it never ceases to amaze me. Michael Winslow is an under-appreciated talent.
Miichael Winslow is amazing! His vocalizations of sounds and voice are masterful, but when started singing “Robert Plant’s” voice, blew my mind 🤯, then Pages guita, damn! I saw him last year on AGT wanting to “ revive himself.”
I personally think this is one of the most talented people in the world. I guess they stopped making Police Academy movies and forget about the man. He's genius I think in what he's capable of doing.
Gotta tip my hat to Jamel; I did my own reaction to the original clip for my own channel, but it was this video that made me aware of it in the first place. So thanks for sharing your reaction with us, good sir. 👊
I first saw this guy in Cheech and Chong's Next Movie back in the 1970s. I think he was in the welfare office scene. He sounds more like Brian Johnson from AC/DC but his sound effects are insane.
@@davidbailey6397 I saw it when I was baked too ( ahhh to be young again). In That same scene, where the old man kept cracking up at the dude falling asleep had me dying as well 🤣
I have a Michael Winslow stand up dvd and he does an even longer version of this song as well as Voodoo Child from Hendrix plus a ton of jokes with the added sound effects. Check out more from him.
Michael 's guitar and vocal impressions were next-level, of course. But: 3:53 - As a guitarist, the sounds of fumbling fingers, feedback, and cord noises were the best of all. Dead on. Amazing.
Michael Winslow is amazing. He is also in Spaceballs. Michael Winslow has so much talent. I am glad he was in the right place and the right place to get discovered so we all can enjoy him.
Michael Winslow has amazing talent! He was in Cheech & Chong's early movies as well as the Police Academy franchise, he was also in Mel Brooks' "Spaceballs".
This man knew how to take his talent(s) to the next level. He turned his penchant for mimicry into a successful business venture. I'm going to start mentioning him as one of my favorite guitarists. That should turn some heads. I remember meeting the man while attending a convention with a friend of mine many years ago. He was so easy to communicate with and very friendly and open, chatting with us for more than just a few minutes as I recall. My friend actually had Michael leave a voice mail on his mother's phone. Obviously due to contractual obligations he couldn't say his name, but that message had us all laughing so hard. My friend's mother had no clue what was going on. She thought her son had gone insane. We then had a picture taken with the three of us for just $5. I paid the money; my friend took home the picture. Ahhhh, good times.
That was 100% improvised. The guitarist is a Norwegian traditional folk-musician and they first met "back stage" in the talk show studio just prior going live on the air.
This guy about 10 years ago had a show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and I was walking from work one night not far from the tent it was on at. The sound coming over the horizon was insane, I had no idea what the hell was going on. I went to see the show a few days later, and turns out that sound was a complete Star Wars battle scene he was performing, with the video projected onto a huge screen behind him.
That was a lot of fun. I love the fact that you have continued to expand you love of music and context. Thanks for spreading kindness and humanity. If you like Chris Stapleton you will love The Marcus King Band. Would love to see your reaction.
Ever since i saw the original Police Academy when i was a kid, i have loved that man’s talent. He is just amazing. The fact that he can make any noise in this planet is simply incredible. Much love to that man. Great reaction clip.
Mr. Winslow is a treasure unappreciated in today's world. Truly gifted. Been watching him decades. And he sounds like Robert Plant does now. You can tell decades of screaming on stage have taken their toll. Thanks for the video.
I've watched the video you are reviewing many times; it always makes me smile. The look on your face when Michael Winslow starts to sing says it all! Peace.
Same here way before police academy. Loved that movie especially the chongs guitar solo. And the space coke at the end was hilarious. The washing powder scene with the bubbles coming out of the van and cheech drinking chongs sisters pea to stop the washing powder taste . Bubbles everywhere. One of the most hilarious scenes ever committed to film ever.
LMAO that's exactly the same reaction I had when I first saw this performance. I was dumbfounded at the raw ability of this legend. It's absolutely batshit crazy that he had to go on AGT to show off his talent after such an explosive career start in huge cult movies like Police Academy and Cheech & Chong.

Oh y'all forgot? He left showbiz to take care of his kids, never stopped being a legend

If Michael Winslow had done that when he was on America's Got Talent he might have won !!! UNREAL !!!🔥🔥🔥💯👏👍✌️

I’m sorry for your loss. I hope life brings you some brighter times soon.

Condolences Dawn. You have friends here with you. Wishing you all the best!!!
Michael Winslow has ALWAYS been super talented. I've seen him do some stand-up and he can impersonate anything, or anyone.
His Jimi Hendrix is every bit as impossibly good.
Shockingly good
Michael Winslow was on America's Got Talent last year. He was trying to jump start his career again which he had said went on a downward spiral. It was kind of sad but he had some good performances.
It saddens me he was on AGT, America should already know how talented he is, WTF!!
@@krissmgvlogs I know you can look it up on RUclips if you want to see his performances.

One word: Incredible.

I about fell out when I saw this vid a few years back. Just 100% pure talent.
There aren't any words to describe Michael Winslow, even awesome doesn't cut it.
Watch his leg, he steps on a distortion pedal. STILL very talented and imaginative !!
OMG! He has always been amazing but, this is a whole other level of awesome!🥰🥰
He was on Spaceballs also. Incredibly hilarious on there.
And a few of Cheech and Chong's movies. There's one waiting room scene that I always go back to. I think it was in Next Movie.
@@FredCracklin yeah man. That's right I forgot about that. Especially the baby feeding scene.
The freaking scene with the jam gets me
Okay okay okay 😂😂 I’ve vocalized guitar solos for fun……but this…….this is a work of brilliance.

16 years ago I saw him do the Star Spangled Banner (Jimi Hendrix version) in a comedy club and he got a 5 minute standing ovation.

I just commented this exact same thing. Since you beat me to it I'll take mine down.😁

You need to hear him do Jimi Hendrix's version of The Star Spangled Banner.
Michael Winslow is an amazing human being.
He's unbelievable. Such vocal talent.
His Jimi Hendrix is also insanely good. Btw, he was also in Spaceballs back in the day
Also appeared on an episode of America got talent
Space Balls is a funny movie.
Also in cheech and chongs next movie
People making movies need to understand he can add a whole 'nother level to their work in uncountable ways!
Good thing there isn't more than one Michael Winslow cause they could upstage every band and put them out of business

why haven't we seen more of this guy, Hollywood wasted him, what a talent!

I saw this clip a few years ago and was blown away! ..and I was already hip to Winslow!
This leads to seeing Jim Breuer perform AC/DC singing "The Hokey Pokey". Likeable for the same reason as this video. Great choice to review.
Speechless for sure.
That clip still blows my mind.
